I like it, this will be a fun contest. Bring it on.
Near the end, Vadskye suddenly showed up, though. What's with that? I think you probably meant Deimos.

Post fixed, Vadskye shouldn't have been a part of it.
Vadskye is the one character that Dean could never keep track of through his scrying pool.
I'm thinking of calling my faction the New Chaos Order. I think it has a nice ring to it.

After the war was finished, Vadskye, too, went to the Royal Order for his due share of praise. Actually, it wasn't all that much, because he had been mostly watching the major climaxes of the fight from the sidelines, but either the Order didn't know that or they didn't mind. The Order of the Guardians was different. They had been extremely angry when he informed them how he came by his orb, but he sensed they were angrier at the prievious guardians than at him. They actually thought that Vadskye did a good job for being such a "know-nothing petty thief", and let him off with only an "ethics lesson". That mostly involved Vadskye being told not to do what he had done all his life and so he didn't pay that much attention to it, instead lying his way out of the Order's wrath. After that, he left for a forgotten forest far from the Royal Order, and thus was unaware of Dean's curse. Vadskye is going to have one heck of a surprise when he gets back...
BTW, Dean, why can't you track my with your scrying glass? Anything special about me or just where I am right now?

Ok, just adding another update before I come up with another completly toatly awesome as usual Mighty Mage post. Any who do so much as read said post will wish to touch me...but you can't so stop it.
As Dean stated, his character went on an insane rampage destroying much of the Tower of Order and killing a few magi in the process. He's just crazy like that. Anyway, Mighty Mage was left in awe and was unable to react to such a display. Dervol who was left injured by Dean chased after him but turned back when she found her powers were failing. Years later she would find that her wound never healed and would fall ill. Mighty Mage was unsure of what to do. He attemted to look for Dean but he had unfortunately used a cloaking spell and drained most of the power the Magi held. It would take months to repair the damage to the building but that done to the magi? Maybe years but for Mighty Mage, longer. He felt somwhat responsible and rather useless. He decided to retire against the other mages wishes and Kaylianna followed behind him. They were married and settled in the city. In order to make a living, Mighty Mage took up strength training as his old master had once taught him. Years later when Mighty Mage learned of Dervol's illness he decided against his former decision and took up his staff once again. He would regain his former power and find Dean. Find him and if nescessary, kill him. He would cure the curse Dean had left Dervol with and he would restore order back to the balance the magi once maintained. He must pay for his crimes.
So Mighty Mage set off as a hunter, sword in hand. Magic could not aid him this time but he had somthing not expected of a mage. Pure strength. His will and force would aid him.
Leaving his wife behind, Lance the Hunter rode off. Into the darkness created by his former ally. He headed south on another mission. But what truely pushed him forward? Was it the will to bring good or somthing deeper...perhaps somthing like revenge?

Just to let you guys know, I plan to add to the summary bit by bit during the summer in hopes that it will be up to date before the fall semester starts back up again. I'll also divide it up into chapters so that a newcomer to this thread doesn't have to feel daunted by its size. Any input or assistance with this would be greatly appreciated, and may even merit a shiny new red star. For now, just expect about a page a week of updates while I go at it alone.
Also, I know many of you are still in the thick of exams, but school should be winding down for everyone soon and it would be nice to have a headcount of those who plan to post during the summer. Also, it would be nice for those of you active in this thread who plan not to post in LHW (or the Glade, for that matter) over the summer to post here letting us all know so that we will be aware that you plan not to stick around for the summer and can better work around that. So far, I believe Dingo and RSF have decided they'd rather spend the summer away from HC (correct me if I'm wrong) so we will have to work around their stories for the time being. Thankfully, neither is central to the plotlines of other characters as of yet, so this will doubtfully be a problem.
Hopefully by the beginning of June this thread, and the entire Glade, will pick up again and enjoy at least much of the activity that it has in the past. Maybe we'll see a few new faces around this forum as well, and those are always welcome.

No he didn't die - he had exams, which took up all his free time and ability to think creatively.
Now they're all done and yes I will actively post - but I'm waiting to see what 2 characters in particular do in their next posts before I do anything.

I was waiting for more people to post saying they'd be around, but I was looking through the list and realized that it was just us four for a while. Sad stuff.
With RSF and Vadskye on leave, and MM's Internet temporarily down, that leaves only myself, Asmodean, Gorman, and Deimos to post. Mine was the last, so one of you three needs (preferably the one Asmo is waiting for) to step up and post soon or else the thread probably won't recover until the others return.
Also, this is a great time for newcomers to jump in, so anyone interested in joining an RP can most certainly come and participate in LHW. I've gotten a few IMs from people wondering about where to start in the Glade, but no one has yet joined. If any of you are reading this (you know who you are), we'd be delighted to have you. The story is explained on the top of page 49 of LHW's in character thread, and reading that will catch you up for this chapter. There is also a summary at the beginning of this thread that will let you know how previous chapters have turned out. It is a work in progress, but I hope to have completed updating it before the summer is over.
In short, the oldies need to post and newcomers need to join, or else we need to wait until the fall. Let's shoot for option one.

Well, I'm convinced...finally!
I read the stuff at the beginning of this Thread about the "evil characters" and I will read Shadowcaster's summary tomorrow. After that, I guess that I'll have an idea of what is going on and what kind of character that I can introduce into the story.
I was already thinking, however, that I might want to create a "neutral character", who's awesome powers would affect the power-struggle that exists, depending on who captures me first and raises me. This would be in tune with the idea of there being a Prophecy: where a powerful creature/character is reborn in a "marked-child".
While young, this child/baby would ocasionally manifest some of its powers, but once grown up, it would essentially tilt the scales of power towards whichever group that possessed him.
I've seen a few movies and read a few stories based on this premise, and it has always fascinated me. So, I figure that "LHW" would be a great place to explore this idea. Please let me know if this has already been done or if the whole thing doesn't fit into the "LHW" story. I don't want to waste anyone's time by coming up with a recycled idea or lame plot, but if it's "good-to-go", than I would be more than willing to follow it through!

Well, we discourage anyone from entering a character, even a neutral one, who is too powerful, simply because that is left open to abuse. I'm not saying that I fear that you will abuse it, but you will have to tread lightly if you choose to go ahead with that idea. Also, if you were to start as a child, the growing process would take a while and may be a bit dull to roleplay as, especially in the beginning when he/she is an infant.
The only way I could really see a powerful character fitting into the story is if he were completely detached from other sides, but that would be difficult to do since it is much easier and more fun to interact and conflict with others.
Now, don't get me wrong. I'm not completely discounting your idea, as it could work in the right situations, but keep in mind that overpowerful characters in the past (Mvass, Unholy One) have had to be toned down and limited somehow in what they are able to do. I just feel you would have more fun with a character that is not all-powerful, and that you can use right away rather than waiting for him to age to coherence. My advice would be to read the summary and, if you still believe you can make that idea work, post a more specific character desription and we'll see what happens from there.
Also, thanks for considering joining; I'm excited to see that you are interested. Please IM me if you have any comments, questions, or concerns.

What's the deal with the 16 "filler" Posts by RSF on page 48 of LHW?
EDIT: Nevermind, just read "UndeadRSF"'s Post about starting a new chapter on a new page. Please disregard the above comment!
Anyways, I just finished reading Shadowcaster's summary. Has anything happened since the "Forsaken Ones" were released with the Master Emerald...or is that also old news?
In addition, I would also like to continue with my idea of being a character, who is a reborn manifestation of a previous LHW figure. I just might not do so in the form of an infant or of a child, as I had originally planned. From reading the summary, it seems like a few people have already come-&-gone; so, I shouldn't have any problems figuring out a way to tie myself into the story...if only I could figure out a what point in the story we are.
