After the defeat of the Motherdark, the chaos the Forsaken Ones brought soon ended. It was not long before they left that a war plagued the lands again. The old fights between the Order and Chaos Factions rose quickly enveloping the entire landscape. Not just the soldiers were lost, but also the towns, the villagers, the towns. Everything was pillaged over the course of just 3 years. And with the winters hitting hard as ever, the lands have fallen into darkness with little order whatsoever. Those who were able to flee to other lands had already done so. Those who could not were likely sacrificed to the warmongering.
The fighting took a toll on more than just the lands, but also the warmongers themselves. With no order and governing within the lands, the lands an armies were again overtaken by an outside threat. This time by nomadic raiders. The lands have fallen into darkness with no one to rule it's lands.
Those that now visit these lands are one of few. From the north, the lands ruled by the Supreme Magi, come to restore order to rebuild the lands.
From the south come the raiders still seeking out the riches hidden within the lands. They follow the rumors of magical artifacts, the same ones that were used to defeat the Forsaken Ones. They seek the riches and the power that they expect these weapons will give them.
From the east come the elves of the Royal Guard seeking out the body of Isildur and the artifacts he bore.
From the west come strangers unknown to any lands. The wilderness goes on seemingly forever and the winters harsh; There are lands that no man dares enter such as the Shroomerish Forest, the Rav'ul Mountains, and the Eternal Swamp. No civilizations have been found to the west. No one has dared cross these wretched. Yet as of recent, it seems that people are now visiting these lands seeking refuge as if where they dwelt crossing those lands they were better off. They speak of strange bubbles that have overtaken their lands, having changed them as if the bubbles were turning them into separate realities. The causes are unknown and they seem to be growing little by little everyday, slowly overtaking the lands, mutating them, turning them into something unnatural. They say an immenant threat that has overtaken their lands will soon do the same to the entire world.
Alright that's what I've been working on. I think a few details need to be polished up and then we can start.

That was the main thing I was going for. I was trying to find a way to give room for new stories for new posters. However I think we need to fill in some details about The Forsaken War and Great Spam War.

Ok I think it would be easier on everyone if the new Chapter started on it's own page, so I skipped ahead just a bit, so the intro post I made starts on page 49. It's not permanent, but I think it's a start.

That would be the best way to catch up. Your character's story doesn't have to be super-detailed or anything, it could simply be what your character did after the Forsaken Ones were killed off. It could even be one line, provided it gives your character enough direction to continue on through to the next chapter.
I plan to start working on my filler story soon, and soon is the best time to restart this thread back up. There's not a deadline, but the sooner all of us can get something in, the sooner the thread can return to full force.

After the defeat of Motherdark Dean went back to the lands of the Supreme Magi to report on his efforts to bring peace to the troubled southlands.
Not expecting a hero's welcome, but not expecting the reception he received Dean found himself called to account before the whole Council of Supreme Magi.
Censured for incompetence for falling prey to a curse of his own making, then becoming tainted with the Motherdark's own evil, the Council ruled that he was no longer fit to sit on the Council, that he was no longer fit to call himself a Supreme Mage and a final insult, that he was no longer fit to be the Guardian of the Ice Mace and Water Sapphire.
On the day of his sentencing and exile, in a display of destructive power that would go down in infamy Dean committed the most grievous act of revenge.
Casting a spell that ensnared the entire Judiciary Council he sent cutting edges of Spirit and Void, severing the connection that each of the mages had to the magic conduits in their souls.
Leaving the mages now doomed to be able to feel magic at the end of their consciousness but never to wield it and feel it's ecstasy again Dean fled south....
No-one knows to where he disappeared to, taking the Ice Mace with him, but now a renegade Summoner it has been rumoured that he has delved into the Dark Arts of Demonology, and even the most normal creatures he summons, like griffins, are twisted and grotesque creatures like this earth has never seen it before.
Those that survive at the Council of Supreme Magi see Dean's hand in the new troubles that plague the world.
Fearing that Dean has now lost all but the most primal vestiges of his humanity they may send out both old and new agents to deal with the new threats to the South, and maybe a confrontation is in the making between Dean and his old travelling companions.......

After two more years of putting up with his damned god, Gorman had decided to bring his god out into the mortal plane and slay him which was of course no easy task. However, luck was with him and he prevailed over the god, smiting him to oblivion and taking a role of a demi-god. His talents with weapons have been mastered as god's tend to have quite alot of time on their hands, and his skills in white magic have grown as well to being able to heal most diseases and wounds as well as being able to ressurect a body per day. He spends most of his time in the mortal world, as dangerous as it may seem, yet takes delight in thievery which is rather odd for him. He still runs to the aid of the helpless, but takes a price with him as well.

After the Forsaken War, Rinaldo left for the Eastern Forests to seek peace of mind among the wood elves. He created a new life. After the war, the curse of the forest stayed with him. Though he was no longer in the horrid undead form, it sapped his spirit and his ability to manipulate the magics of time. He lost his ability to make prophecies. And it had aged him to look many years older than he was.
So over the past five years he has trained with the wood elves, learning the magics of nature and the Goddess that watched over all, the spirit of the Woods, the spirit of nature itself. Slowly but surely the life force of the Sha'Rah, the Goddess of Nature, has been renewing him the more and more he trains in the magics of Nature and Life.

Shadowcaster and Alivia headed back toward the Shroomerish Forest, where they knew the others would be waiting. The pair had resolved to help seal up the Forsakens and help free the world from the corrosive effects of their presence upon the entire population of the land. They were, however, suprised to see that, not only were their one-time allies gone, but they were gone for good, never again to return. They had been killed by the supreme magi, drained and slaughtered one by one with the magic that had been crafted long ago to combat their treachery. All that now remained was a ruined forest, which would soon become the Shroomerish Wasteland. It was in this cursed place that the ashes of the Forsaken would lie forever. So the oracle stone that had been erected there told them.
Now Shadow and Alivia had nowhere to go, for the former had lost his comrades and the latter had lost her surrogate family, and it appeared that the assassin queen's mortality would not come without a price. She began to age rapidly, and with each passing moment more and more of her wasted life passed her by. This was her punishment, but the shadow mage wouldn't suffer losing the mother who he had just discovered, the only one who remained on this earth, besides the time mage, who truly understood him. He ventured to the north to see if the same magi who had defeated the Forsaken Ones could help revive their converted.
The journey was slow and arduous for the assassin queen, and the shadow mage would not push her for fear of losing Alivia before they had reached their goal. He again had someone to love, and was again in danger of losing her, but, this time, it would not be his hand that fell the target of his love. It would be his hand that stayed her.
They traveled slowly for nearly a year, and eventually reached the majestic halls of the Order of the Supreme Magi, but the spendor from the walls had vanished, the vast towers no longer gleamed in the sunlight as he had heard. He cautiously headed through the front gate and made his way to the Council Chambers. His audience with them was denied, and the magi at the door explained that the council had been robbed of their ability to perform miracles, and now all they could do was teach others to take their place. But this apprenticeship was a long task, and no Council would be fit to convene before at least four more years had passed.
When he asked who had done this, he was met with but one name:
Dean
The shadow mage set off in search of this mystery thief, whom he had not connected with the Ice Mace, the library, or the defeat of the Forsaken. Shiela's prayers from above would keep Alivia alive for another 14 months, but the assassin queen eventually died, and Shadowcaster buried her tearfully among the ranks of the Chaos dead, right next to the fallen earth mage.
He was again alone, and now found himself with but one goal to console him and shield him from the bitter truth. The shadow mage would revive the grand armies of Chaos and spread discord across the land, for if he was to grieve, everyone else should be consigned to do the same.
Shadowcaster was once more overtaken by the looming shadow of vengeance, and the brief repose he had enjoyed with Alivia gave way to the bitterness that had so defined him in his days of old. It seemed the shadow mage was not destined to be at peace after all.

Deimos disappeared into Shomerish Forest soon after Motherdark was defeated. He started having nightmares about Mvass. One day he awoke to find the forest area around him on fire. He quickly drained the heat out of it, but he was sure that he caused the fire. He left the forest, wandering aimlessly.

I'm posting this not only as an update for Mighty Mage but as a tribute for us all who fought so bravly to rid the world of evil. And yes RSF, I'm still for the most part interested.
The battle was long and fierce yet the heroes fought harder. You may ask what great battle and who were these heroes that saved the world from untold destruction. This was known as the Forsaken War, soon to be recorded in the tomes of history as a true battle of good vs. evil. Our Heroes were not that of what legends tell us but average people caught in an unusual predicament. Rinaldo, the wayward Time Mage, scarred by his transgressions and dealings with darkness. Lance, the Mighty Mage, sworn to the protection of the sacred jewels and the keeping of peace, Mighty Mage found himself in a battle far worse than any man had ever laid eyes upon before yet fought with every ounce of strength within his body. Dean, the lost summoner, a story of a wayward mage and his accidental inclusion in this horrible battle, a fighter of good and an extraordinary mage. Gorman, the fallen angel, as unusual as it sounds this soul became the servant of the great god of thievery and doomed to carry out his commands. Vadskye, the magical thief, with good intentions put a poor judge of ideas. Deimos, the demon bred magog with a knack for getting into trouble, with bravery twice his own size but lacking in intelligence. Shadowcaster, child of the forsaken and master of darkness, in the end his love for his mother conquered all.
These and others were the heroes spoken of. These men took on the challenge of stopping one of the greatest evils to plague this fair earth while putting their lives on the line. Oh sure their trials and tribulations would be talked of and remembered just as those four heroes of old were written along side others worthy of legend. In their hearts would the experience forever remain. Those frightening beings that hell itself spit up.
With all good, evil will continue to remain. Hiding within the shadows or poisoning good men’s hearts. The yin and the yang. For Lance, the Mighty Mage his yang would come. Just as Rinaldo had been cursed by the touch of death and Dean by madness, Lance would get his. The darkness would see to that.
Shortly after that war of darkness Lance, Dean, Kaylianna, and Dervol returned to Elandrake, the royal city and home to the great Royal Order. To their fellow magi they were regarded as heroes and defenders of good. Even Flagg the Necromancer clapped in approval. However, the Order of Guardians was different. Instead of joyful they appeared angry. Not at just one but us all. Angry that we, as trusted guardians, would ever let such a thing occur. Lance was let off with a stern yelling and a ‘what would your father say’ speech but with Dean it was different. Not only did they administer the cruel remarks of idiocy but also they went further and stripped him of guardianship. Even with Lance’s opposition clearly stated, they stood by their judgment stating the rules and giving the reminder that technically Dean’s family never existed as Guardians.
Dean left the Order that day but not without leaving his mark. He stole his precious weapon and headed south never to be seen the same again.
Lance and Kaylianna were married and settled in the great town only after resigning from the Royal Order’s service.
As for Dervol, she remained in service for three more years until falling ill and becoming bed-ridden.
So starts the new story of our heroes. May their names never be forgotten.
