Quote: Fine, go right ahead. Agree to disagree with my protest. If this weren't the internet he wouldn't get away with snide remarks about letting women go free and now subjugating to them. It's all a big joke to you two obviously. There's a whole world out there with women that are beaten daily, raped, abused, oppressed, you name it. Maybe you two don't see it so much since you live in your cozy american suburbs and cultures. But a joke about such material is all just a joke according to you two.
I feel it's completely inappropriate. If this were a different forum and the tables were turned, let's say to black people in america, take that so-called joke of his and ad-lib the term for black people. Now watch how many people get ignited for inappropriate comments to the delight of the plight for the minority. Joke about how we shouldn't have set them free. Joke about how they are now here to subjugate us non-blacks.
Like I said, you don't have to tell me. Don't let me interupt the two of you telling jokes and agreeing that women are here to force men into submission now that we "let them go free". Have a few laughs at the expense of others all you want. I refuse to be a part of it.
I have to agree with Consis here, there are some topics in the real world that r no laughing matter.

Why Am I Not Surprised
"Discarded foreskin of morality"
You guys win.
No really you guys want to tell jokes of this particular nature? I promise to never criticize your humor ever again. That goes for The_Gootch, Peacemaker, and Bort.
Hey I give up. My point was dismissed and the humor will continue so I'll keep my big mouth shut concerning any joke you three have to tell. This should satisfy your appetite for tasteless humor.

LOL Consis
Are you shocked that we are so fiercely independent that political correctness flies out the window occasionally? Given how "liberal" we all are presumably (according to the political compass) I am shocked too... or maybe that crap about political correctness and liberals is just a myth...
Still, while I think you've taken all this far too hard, I (as the woman in this terrible threesome you so flatter me by associating me with) for one appreciate your point about "what if we were talking about African Americans and started making jokes about slavery?
Well if you think about it, that's a pretty good argument in defence of your offended reaction.
Still though, Like I told you in my IM, I like to think that we can still all laugh at ourselves and that is what I for one choose to do esp. when the joke is offered by someone who so clearly believes and behaves to the contrary of the joke itself.
Here's the story I told Consis the other day. A long time ago I had a really good friend I used to debate Indian politics with all the time. Usually come the end of the debate (when I had usually backed him into a corner) he would get frustrated and say (in a clearly joking manner) "Well if you don't like it maybe you should just go back where you came from!"
This always made me laugh (and him too), since in making this joke to me, my friend was pretty clearly admitting the narrowness and prejudice of having such an attitude -- toward me, esp since this IS where I came from -- or toward anybody else. I think through his associations with me he had started to realize a streak of the old "Archie Bunker" type thinking he harbored, and making that joke was his way of admitting that.
So I think my point is this. Sometimes the joke about something like this is funny precisely because it reveals the absurdity of the prejudice.
<Uh oh. Somebody left Peacemaker running... Where's the damn off switch?!?!?!?!>
(Sorry guys. I must be bored.)
