Ain't gonna happen Consis, not until at least 2012.  She will want to have two successful terms as a senator before she makes her move.

Mark my words, 2012 election will pit Hillary Clinton against Jeb Bush.

Folks, you heard it here first.

The reason that people haven't died in Kosovo is because we there isn't terrorism involved in what we are trying to stop. Regardless of whether or not we are in Iraq terrorism will not stop. You can't give in to terrorist because they will keep attacking until more and more. Really if there is anyone to blame for the death of Soldiers and natives it is the terrorists. In the long run, fewer people will have died.

Uhmmm, no offense, but this is wrong in oh so many ways that I wouldn't even know where to begin.

Oh and there is terrorism in Kossovo, just not to the same extent.

I will start, PH.

1.  Jews believe in God.
2.  The United States supports Israel.

Now, Balcough, I find it rather ironic that you pointed out how Bush had to look down at his notes as he was insulting Kerry.  Perhaps you should bring some notes next time...

I respectfully disagree. I believe the full swing of current events will take place before the 08 election, not after. I think the "Arnold-Effect" will cause liberal women's groups to call for a push of Hillary to the presidency before the two term senate dues are paid. Arnold has a lasting effect on almost every voting segment except liberal women.

I agree that the Florida governor could be a formidable opponent but I also think the country is moving forward toward leading the world by its hand into a post modern era of freedom for women.

I also think this election will have beaten the dead horse on the 9/11 debating issue. I think the "Do you want another 9/11 blah, blah, blah...." debate will be changed into the only real weapon we have against the terrorist thugs. Women are the key to the next election as opposed to hispanic, african american, white, or otherwise in my opinion.

As for the current election, I think the country is ready to support either candidate for office. We know that neither is truly what we want and I believe we're getting ready to weather the "lesser of two evils" storm once again. Neither candidate has any real progessive message of any kind. They're mostly mud slinging to try and win the race.

I also agree the debates in October will have a profound effect. I think this is where Kerry will be seen as a weakling standing next to Bush. I am a democrat and I don't have high hopes for our nominee.

Whatever the case, whoever the president will be, I will support them both as an american first, and a democrat second.

Actually Wolf, she wouldn't be that far off, at age 64.  Of the last six presidents at the time of their unauguration:

W was 54.
Bill Clinton (an anomaly age-wise, second only to Kennedy) was 46.
George Herbert Walker Bush was 64.
Ronald Reagan was 69 (the oldest so far).
Jimmy Carter was 52.
Gerald Ford was 60.

The average age of these presidents (57.6) is slightly higher upon inauguration than the average age of the first 37 presidents (54.25), which might partly be due to an increase in American longevity of about ten years over the last century.

Also, recent statistics suggest that Anglo women tend to live about five to six years longer (80) than Anglo men (74.8).

So she would be pretty much right in the ball park.

EDIT:  BTW, I was wrong about Kennedy being the youngest at 43.  Actually, it was Theodore Roosevelt, at 42.

I think you are about to get a real surprise from the debates.

1.  Some would characterize Kerry as being raised in a presidential "incubator."  He's probably had designs on the office since before he was potty-trained, and has been grooming for it ever since.

2.  Kerry was a master debator in high school and college.  He has been described as highly gifted in this area.

Don't get me wrong.  I don't like the guy and I think he stands for nothing other than himself.  But he's one hell of a lot smarter than you're giving him credit for.  Barring some major faux-pas on his part, there's a real good chance he'll make Bush look as stupid as he really is, if we're paying attention that is.

Personally, I think the doors we all thought were slammed shut a long time ago might come blowing back open again, starting with tonight's debate.  My call: the polls with tighten considerably as a result of the debates.

ROFL

master debator.  Not master debator.

By the way, I found the first debate an exercise in frustration.  Bush "performed" about like I thought he would, but I kept feeling like Kerry missed so many golden opportunities.  Not to be too arrogant or anything, but I started getting the urge to rush up on the stage, tell him to get out of the way and let me handle the question.

A Kinder, Gentler America?

I received these photos today and wanted to share them with you.  It was a nice break from all the heated debating and 'macho' talk from the politicians.  I thought they were very good (and quite funny), and I don't think they are too offensive if taken in a humorous sense.  I left them in their original format and size (only about 50k each) as to not ruin their integrity.  If any Mod would like me to resize them, then please just let me know.  I hope you enjoy.

President Georgina Bush

Vice President Dixie Cheney

Senator Joan Kerry

Senator Jane Edwards

Note:  I cannot take credit for the pics; however, I did come up with the lovely names.

p.s. - Regardless of your choice for President, please don't forget to vote!!!
