Something must have gone wrong at the end of your week. You were supposed to take the angel dwelling on day 7 to have 3 more angels or am I wrong?
Was it forbidden?

Yes, I usually play with no lv.7, and from some time ago, lv.6 external dwelling...so, that's why I skipped it.
But anyway, I just wanted to show how chaining worked with me, so that's not important.
Btw, it's easy to get to that dwell, but not sure how I'd dwell with angels in it week 1...having just one on my side.
But, again, that was not important in these saves.
Btw, Xarfax, something that I'd like to know.
Got message that I have 2.9 mins til end of turn? Remember something long time ago about you saying that you 'fixed' something to have 3min timer...is that it?
Second, you said to disable AI to cast spells in combat when qc is on. How to do that?
Again something you did with game?
EDIT: Eh, ignore first question...I got normal '3mins' message now. I must have been drunk when I first saw that. Strange thing is, that I've not touch a drink today.
Oh well, another question then...why qc at all?

Ok, this is an easy example. Although chaining has many varieties, i take this easy example. Although its not played perfect u can get some main ideas of chaining.
...
Ok have fun,
Xarfax1
OK, I did it all. I was following your rules to the letter but ran out of time every round!!
In any case, I had 6 (3X3) arch devils and 17 effreties going in against the effreties for the treasure area. After, I had 3 arches left and like 10 effreties. All the creatures in the treasure area are level 6 and I could not fight them.
This is a noob question, but what is the point in going in the treasure area if you cannot get the treasures that are guarded?

Well, you lost too much on border guards. Hopefully you brought some more troops and not just arch devils and sultans?

Well i hope u read the advice to "turn off sound and effects". With that it shouldnt be a problem. Of course this doesnt mean to turn off the loudspeakers, it means to turn off those things in your game.(lol..i know u know that, but...i just want to be sure..someone did that years ago..lmao).

First thing is what old players keep saying: DONT go against Efreetis if u can avoid it...they will hurt!
So the thing is to go through the scorpicores. Still ...those scorpicores will be unexpectedly tough. "They suck if uve them in your lines, but u dont want them against you".
So straight after u cleaned the Utopia u will at least have enough money. So use the already standing Chain to send again reinforcements. NEVER go only with your main creatures into the fight. NEVER loose them. Better take some Gogs and Warmachines with u. AND...
like i already told.. dont waste spells in the Utopia or the spells u need is slow-shield-slow to make this fight fightable are gone. After this some experience is still needed cause even massslowed scorps are still too fast and still too much... but this u better find out on your own ...
...and REMEMBER in a real only game with fair players u dont have the posibility to RETRY...it must work!
Good luck and have fun

No its just in the Game Options, were for example u fix movement shadow, show enemy speed and other stuff. There u give the comp control over the catapult and turn off spell casting. Otherwise the stupid comp will cast in quickcombat, which can cause u some unexpected trouble (Frenzy, Chainlightning) ....at least u would loose some spellpoints for other spells in those fights ..thats what u also dont want.
Why Quickcombat?
Well, why not? There is no reason to go into a fight were u wont be able to loose anything at all.... so u prefer to kill them on your own? Why? ...those fights are boring and only waste your and your opponents time.

Ok, tried it again and did much better with fodder and against the scorpicores.
I did well this time. Practice makes perfect!
By the way, is there a list of good units for each town? What I mean is that I played a fixed game with Sir_Stiven to prepare for noob tourney and he said that while fighting cflux, concentrate on Magic elementals. So that town's good units are M. Elementals. Ex 2: would be Fortress; they have M. Moo's and C. Hydras for good units. What are the good units in other towns?
The way he said it is: While fighting an enemy, concentrate firepower on those good units. I was Fortress and he concentrated on C. Hydras and on M. Moos.
If someone makes a list, could you put why the unit is chosen?
Thanks,
Conan

Well, I'm playing a game right now in which i was forced to go capital. Few resources little gold, big stacks blocking roads everywhere.
And no you don't go troops all the time (although it is much more preferable if u can).
Most of the toh maps are a joke when it comes to resources. Of course you can get 8 heroes day one and chain like a madman and go creatures as well. That's because, like somebody else said, they spoon feed you snowing resources. Of course you'll go a lot of heroes and creature dwellings on those maps.
I'd like to see you go for 6 heroes on a random map and find out your way out of your area is guarded by a big stack.

No, Zsa is right. If you play at impossible and "no restart", capital first can be best if youīre blocked.

Talking about a bad memory ...
Edit: I am responding here to a post by Xarfax, which he deleted later.
1. No, we played some more times. Three of them were not restarted, and in fact all of those three were won by me. There was this one where you took that funny Goblin hero against my Ivor and lost on day 5. I offered you to cancel the game, but you insisted on reporting. Youīll surely remember this game?
2. The one where you considered yourself blocked by 20 Grand Elves was neither loss-reported by you, nor won-reported by me. I surely wasnīt angry and of course I neither asked you to report anything.
When I later made polite mention of the fact that I had tried your position and broken through the Grand Elves, you reacted angrily and in an immature way.
3. Quote: U can check your threads and ull see that im right, as u even complained about me in the TOH Forum.
And here is the thread where I supposedly complained about you on the forum: http://heroescommunity.com/viewthread.php3?TID=7426
Note the angry and demanding tone of my posts! And how you so humbly started calling me names in response.
But as you see, if you know how to read, by patiently responding, I managed to get from you something rather close to an apology.
4. After that we started many games, but finished only two of them, both of which I won. We had bad luck with starting positions many times - either one of us was blocked, or there was a mess of teleporters all around.
5. The last game we played was a perfectly working Fortress on my side, where I asked you to continue the save a few times, and you decided to rather report loss.
Edit: That time I really insisted, as that game had been at the end of week 2 in progress, and there was no apparent reason not to report.
6. Growing age brings more wisdom and civil behaviour in some of us. In your case there only seems to be a deterioration of memory.

Quote: ...lol...well i could proof u wrong point by point, but your attitude is soo lame... nah one of those stupid answers is enough for me. U dont gonna get me into such a stupid discussion.
Yes, Iīm sure you could ... by reediting your name-calling contributions in the thread I linked. Unless you do, itīs obvious and for everyone easy to lookup and read that what we get from you here is nothing but your usual loudmouth talk.
Quote: You feel personally attacked very quick, and u try to personally attack others if they disagree with you. That shows that u take this game, this online board and yourself far to serious. U want others to show u "some respect" as u see yourself amongst "the best 5 veteran players". Surely u wont admit it, but thats how it is.
This is a very funny thing to read from you. The abovementioned thread, like many others, very clearly shows who of us has the tendency to start insults and name-calling as soon as he feels criticised. (Even though that thread wasnīt at all made to criticise you.)
Itīs also interesting to read that itīs actually me who takes the Heroes 3 game too seriously, as I havenīt been playing it at all for more than a year now. Only rarely do I take part in any Heroes discussions, and unlike you I donīt use them to bolster my ego by means of noob-calling.
Neither do I need peoplesī respect for having been fairly good for some time at a video game. The respect that I receive here is mostly for my RL and chess posts.
Regarding the thing that I wonīt admit, well, apparently you can read my thoughts. In germany we have the word "Armutszeugnis" for this kind of arguing style. I would expect this from a 15-year old, but if Iīm well-informed, you are already in your mid thirties.
Quote: If u think u r such a good player [...]
But I donīt! Okay, when I was still active, I was good enough to kick your butt everytime we played, but, well, who didnīt? Against the really good players, like Frank, The Vink, Antal, The Saint, I usually lost. Iīve never been good at breaking Tombs, Banks and Cons early, my play was too intuitively, and quite often I simply overlooked important things.
Still Iīm able to give useful advice to new players sometimes, and when I am, thatīs the rare times that you see me posting in the Library forum.
Quote: ...well i would buy some creature buildings and creatures instead and have a nice breakthrough.
Or you would ask for a restart, because the 20 Grand Elves would look to tough for you to break through at 160%.
I often played random map games at 200%, where difficult positions sometimes required creative solutions. And in the rare case where I canīt buy an army thatīs large enough to break the block, and there are not enough precious resources available in order to build my level 7 dwelling, going for capital can be the only sensible option.

Stop it!
I think the topic is "Castle or Capitol" and this is the library and not the (tossers) tavern.
Please stop your "private" dispute in this public way and go on via IM if u have to.
Xarfax....canīt you see how the mood of a thread changes after you post some of your "known" oneliners like "Noob learn the game", "Pure nonsense"...and so on?
It happens again and again. You know that game soooo much and you have the most +QP in the library of all members here, but still youīre doing hard in treating other members who donīt have the same knowledge.
As i mentioned in at least 2 other threads, you (and every other member as well) can always raise your hand when you see someone posts wrong facts and turn them right. But u have to accept, there exist different strategies in so called "strategy games".
If you donīt like others strategies, fine...you donīt have to. But STOP calling them names or showing your wisdom in an arrogant way. Just ignore their posts or post your strategy...just that simple.
