And the reason why this thread belongs to the socialists, not the society, is the fact that we cant collectively control it, since the collective is still full of crapitalistic pests (refer to some of the above posters). And even when the day comes when we get rid of them, bort still wont be given according to his needs, just because he whines all the time.

And because he tried to steal our parking lot by naming himself "The Workers". Luckily, someone beat him to it, and fouled his evil scheme!

http://www.marxist.com/

An excellent excellent link for all interested in Marxism. Offers a variety of wonderful articles (short, insightful and neat; see section marxist theory), as well as socialist analyses of contemporary events (not very reliable though).
Translated in all languages (heck, even has Macedonan ).

Out there, people are starving, while others have food and drink in abundance.

Out there, people are freezing, while others have so many (unnecessary) clothes that they don't have room for more.

Out there, people have no housing, while others live in palaces.

Ot there, people are unemployed or work for insubstantial wages, while others cash in more money than it's humanly possible to spend in a lifetime.

Out there, people are suffering from harsh weather, armed conflicts, starvation, and whatnot, while others sit in their "Festung Europas" or "Festung Amerikas" and refuse the people who suffers access to land no one really has the "right" to.

Out there, people are suffering under the yoke of dictatorship, while corporations are loath to point out to the very same dictators the unfairnes of their regimes, because the corporations are afraid to lose commercial rights in the dictator's country.

Out there, people are being killed by poisonous drinking water, because multi-national beverage producers poured toxic waste into the subsoil water reservoirs.

Out there, people are living in extreme poverty in the "richest country in the world", while their government spends billions sending toys into space.

Out there, democracy is being reduced to a legitimizing tool for capitalist big-business interests, which are in direct conflict with the "demo".

Out there, people such as myself are becoming Socialists.

EDIT: And out there, greedy capitalist bastards in the pharmaceutical industry are pressing the parliament of the "world's largest democracy" into passing a patent law that will increase the cost of amongst other things AIDS medicines, while at least several hundred thousands of poor people are suffering from HIV or AIDS.
GlaxoSmithKline, you are now getting closer to the top of my list of people who will be hung from lamp posts when the Revolution comes...

EDIT2: Woops, it appears that this is a consequence of the WTO STRIPS Agreement. Ah well, WTO is already at the top along with the IMF, and GlaxoSmithKline demands a 40% patent fee in South Africa, one of the most AIDS ridden countries of the world, so they'll remain high up on my list.

EDIT3: Oh no! My party is no longer going to sing the "international" at party congresses...
I've begun contemplating getting the hell out of that party, but at least they've dropped the neo-libaralism they were toying around with in the early 90s. And that's a relief...

Communism and pure socialism... an utopia

An interesting thread over at Guardians' Grove, where you can observe me trying desperately to defend my (and our) ideology against the onslaught of the various rightwingers at GG...

Though I for quite some time thought that the thread was named "Communism vs. Capitalism - utopias", and thus thought that the rightwingers were trying to stay away from critisizing their economic system, while I was constructively critical towards past socialist societies, it's still pretty revealing to how they're not exactly open to criticism of their system, or something...

Aha, since we're doing debate advertising, I might add this one "comprehensive analysis of communism in relation to the socio-political conditions on the Balkans, and especially in Romania, as well as an overall view on communism and its basic principles".
A few pages-long debate between Companiero (aka comrade Svaorg), a Macednian student, and Sandu, Romanian lawyer. Naturally, i win eventually.
Why Capitalism

comrade terje, i read that, good standing all the way, though i think u share a too idalistic view about some things. Job excellently done anyway!

To move things a bit here, lets all post one edited pic of the comrades, full-time members of the lounge, being on their revolutionary duty.

I read Terje GG posts, and I think they are pretty good. There is one problem with the discussion, however. The capitalists keep using the saying of "At least our system works" to which you reply "At what cost?" and they rebuke with some comment about how it's not too bad in their countries. They are forgetting, and as far as I can see you  don't remind them, that the true horror of Capitalism is not on the national but the international scale. Yes, people in the US have it pretty sweet. The government can't have it any other way, or else the people will try to change things (just like they have in the past by forming unions and such). The real problem is overseas, where poor nations are enslaved by Capitalism. And the people of the rich Capitalist nations see this, and feel guilty so they try to help, send money, food, aid... They are too blind, however, to see that it's not fate that should be blamed, but the rich Capitalist countries themselves! How nice: the modern Capitalist can donate $10 a month to help starving children and feel good about themselves, ignoring the fact that the $10 were stolen from these children to begin with!

I like being here, it bursts my bubble, which is good from time to time to remind us of reality.
