Quote: Heheheheheheheheheeeee! ....
Gotcha! I must admit this would not have been possible without the dedicated help of the known Mod Squad members, one of whom posed as Ronald Mc D and all of whom thoroughly and convincingly defended my position
I must admit I was afraid the joke was not going to work, but by the end of it, not only did we have at least a handful of believers, but those who initially thought it was a joke began having doubts!!!! Yeah, sure, of course you knew it was a joke all along, right
I conducted the joke by US time since most of our members are there, so no blame to me
And now the truth. It was MightyMage's idea and others contributed. HC is not in financial difficulties and I do not support McDonald's in any way whatsoever. I think it's horrible and should be outlawed. I haven't eaten in McDonalds or any other similar outlets for over a year.
Aside from immense amount of animal cruelty it sponsors, Mc Donalds makes money on selling food they know damages people. They spend great amounts of money to develop clever strategies to manipulate people into wanting what Mc Donald's knows is harmful food. Especially shameful is the targeting of children and association of Fun with food that causes physical degradation and related mental consequences.
HC is BACK!
We had some fun though
*laughs, feels foolish, then laughs harder*
Very good. Very crafty, rather. Rarely one to be stumped, I suppose the joke's truly on me this round. I think it's hilarious how Pan's follow-ups to my post on Page 1 fooled me good. Not to mention all the serious hype about not offending the MCD's guy. Nice one. *laughs*
*looks at own posts defending the new sponser; laughing turns to violent sobs*

Don't believe me if you don't want to, but I knew it was a joke all along Still, it was fun sending Val and Pan IMs, reporting anti-McD threads and all sorts of things on the site that needed fixing, like the logo

Quote: Smoking is highly unpleasant to those who are not used to it. And so is crap food. It's unpleasant for me to eat it. Like for you eating something you really don't like. So it is not a case of witholding from pleasures, quite the opposite. Some people enjoy smoking and alcohol. Tobacco makes me cough and alcohol tastes unpleasant and I've never put effort into overcoming this unpleasantness so that I can have the 'simple pleasures'.
.... *eyes light up* Amen! Never have I seen something I could relate more closely to.
As for the McDonald's joke.... I missed it all. Can anyone show / describe to me what HC looked like?

So this was all a joke?
You got me, for one...
(I hope my fellow HCers are familiar with irony, so that I don't entirely poop on my leg... )

Valeriy,
I respect your opinion. Here is where I am coming from. When I was in the military I would find myself in the dessert of Nevada or great wide forrests of northern New Mexico/Washington. We would have nothing to eat but what we caught or from the military meals. Everybody knows that the military food tastes awful. But it keeps you alive and allows a soldier to do his job. They are very high carbohydrates to give a soldier ability to last a long time between meals and still be effective.
I remember being in the field, no shower for weeks, move only at night, and wishing if only I could have one cheeseburger then I would be so happy. I spent 4.5 years in the military and when I finished duty I went to eat many cheeseburgers and pizza. To this day I am very happy.
I respect your opinion. I fully understand this food is not very good/healthy for a person. But the food they gave us in the military wasn't very good either. When you only have the minimum needs of living, breathing, and food, it makes a person wish for the simple pleasures in life. I am also so happy to live in a house with people who love me. Cheeseburgers are not healthy and neither is smoking but that's not important to me. I value good friends, a roof over my head, and a warm cooked meal. A soldier only has good friends but no roof and no warm meals.

Nah, no good for a joke. If you want a joke to work, do it one another (non-April 1st) day. Everybody will believe it, will be seriously concerned, maybe panic, and even flame u and the mods. Now that would be something, wouldnt it?
Saying "this is not a joke" on 1 April, is as transparent as a womans wet bra.

Seriously, this joke brainwashed me. After I was at my local library visiting McHeroes Community, I had to walk past McDonalds to get home. Normally I don't go in there, but this time, I actually went to McDonalds...

Hey! And so i missed out on the joke? Damn..
Surprised to see 'mcheroes community really existed' at least for a short while.'
And val,

Mcdonalds sell food that damages people? How do you know that? Physical degradation and related mental consequences? Again, how do you know that? I'm a bit confused. I thought they just contained fats and all you have to do is work out to get rid of them.
So no more Mcheroes community?
~edit and oh, my country has mcdonalds delivery 24/7. Wow. Mcnuggets and big macs are tempting me 24/7. But I don't think I'll call the hotline unless needed.

I suggest every April 1st, we have McHeroes Community! Hehe! So new members will be like... what is this? Then we can direct them to this thread, which will be locked up already, and they will get the idea.. how about it?

The way to fix the unhealthy problem at McDonalds and stuff, is to make a law saying you may not park anywhere within 300 yards of a McDonalds, so that way you would have to ride a bike/walk to it, then you are exercising, as well as enjoying the food! Everything works out!
