Well, if you're not introducing a new war machine, you should at least change the Ammo Cart's looks - leave it with the same effect (infinite ammo for shooters), but give it a fururistic look that fits all the other inovations that come with the Forge's technology.

Ok. But it has normal horse's shape anyway. And I think cybernetic horse wouldn't be like a normal horse - e.g. there won't be any hair.

I think that would be a great handicap - Forge shooters immune to Armo Cart's ability.

But still - what war machine should be there if not a new one?

For the horse you could do something similar to Mother 3's early chimeras. [url=http://walkthrough.starmen.net/mother3/image/enemies/reconstructedcaribou.png]Example[/url]

An idea for the Forge's war machine could be a shield generator. This would give all units a combined Air Shield and Shield effect.
Or you could go with a transporter, allowing you to teleport a single unit per turn.
Thirdly you could go with a distortion field projector. It randomly casts quicksand or land mine at the start of battle.

Chimeras as horses? No, really, thanks.

War machine... It must be something original. What about some kind of generator that gives immunity to all negative spells for some time? IMO it fits in town's character.

All towns has the same war machines! If one machine can give ammo for elves, beholders and lichs I think it can give plasma for forge units

I'm sure, if forge were in AB it wouldn't have diffrent war machine for example because of game mechanic (game engine?).

Moks_Pokemon, what's your point? What I wrote, especially what you copied in bold wasn't in any previous comment. Following the same pattern of "criticism", why are you posting the already posted web adress for the site with the original Forge graphics?

Hobbit, why do you think changing the Ammo Cart's looks for the Forge would be a handicap? How exactly would it render Forge troops immune to its abillity?

@ Hobbit - I didn't mean an actual chimera, but a concept similar to Mother 3's mechanical chimera creations. Mother 3 had two types of chimeras, mechanical and biological. Biological chimeras were two or more species combined into a single creature like the [url=http://walkthrough.starmen.net/mother3/image/enemies/cattlesnake.png]Cattlesnake[/url], while mechanical chimeras were a single creature that had been cut up and had parts replaced like the [url=http://walkthrough.starmen.net/mother3/image/enemies/mecha-drago.png]Mecha Drago[/url]. What I was suggesting was basically partially mechanical horses.

You did not understand me at all. Maybe I messed up something.

I meant that Forge units would use some kind of other ammo that would be "immune" to Ammo Cart's ability. That means they could have no unlimited ammo. And that would be great and logical handicap - blasters are VERY strong, but they are very limited.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I was getting at too: although the game's programming would give every shooter unlimited ammo if the cart is present, the thought of the old, medieval wooden cart carrying energy clips and stinger missiles is plain ridiculous. That's why I suggested that the cart's looks be changed, if nothing else.

And they're pretty weak. I mean Foot soldiers will be equal to upg. Elves in terms of damage (but still a bit weaker). They and their blasters are strong enough to kill low tier creatures (As Kastore killed goblin in Evil Ending video) But for high tier creatures blasters are not so dangerous - crusader's armor, for example, can reflect blaster Bolt , so It's logical when Goblin can't kill crusader.

And there will be no sense to have Cart in Blacksmith witch will not affect on the army. I see no problem  in filling it with rockets and batteries for blasters. Actually, Elite Stingers (Upg of Stingers) will have something about 2 or 3 rockets for the battle, so they desperately need ammo cart.

PS - here is concept art (by Agar6) of jump-troopers, but in real they will be different.



PSS - changing of ammo cart graphics isn't a good idea, because it's unreal to point when it should look like Forge's cart and when like usual. Example - We have bought a hero in tavern and Give him Inferno army. So,,, because it's a forge hero, should be ammo cart modern? Answer - No. And here is a technical difficulty.

To add a new ammo cart there is only one way, the forge should come with its own scripts.

Possible:

Check if any shooter from forge is present. If yes, then:
Change a battle obstacle to the new ammo cart look
Check at the start of each battle the obstacle present and remove the one which looks as the new ammo cart (ERM does not say if we can get !!BF:O?y1/?y2)
Place the ammo cart in the empty squares near the hero (outside the grid)
If ammo present, modify the number of shoots
The downside is that the new ammocart will not have HP, so may lead to abuse.

I already did this in Atlantis so the team equipped with Machine guns had a box of ammunition instead of wooden ammo cart. Without scripts, there is no reason to speculate, the ammo cart has only one def, hence it can not variate from a faction to another.

And there's a quote that I heard from one of Might and Magic fanatics some time ago (as I understood it's from MM6 and it's said by some dragon slayer - I don't know, I didn't play this):

That was just my idea. And I didn't say that Ammo Cart should be in Blacksmith - it would make no sense as you said.

Ok, I know that he must be muscled to take all this stuff on him... but he isn't just muscled - he looks like he's big! Ok, maybe that's just my impression and in game it would look better...
