Spam Wars
Spam Wars
Hey there everyone! We've got a new game to show you! But first, some background story:
In the distant lands of Spamtopia, peace is no more, for the greatest spammers of the land have decided that they'd like a go at the game called power. Whatever.
Either way, this here is a game for teams of up to four members where you get the chance to showoff your l33t strategy skills. Or something.
Joining.
As you join, you choose the team you want to play for. Upon your joining, that team is awarded with an amount of money equal to your post count at the moment of signing up. Also, you are given a hero named after you with which to move around the map. No fancypants hero names, just your HC username.
Let's take a look at... The map.
As you can see, the map is divided into 15 regions, each with a unique name and three values: base unit price, maximum units per turn and income per turn. Ownership of a region will be marked by colors, so teams are asked to pick a color (and a name, too).
Recruitment
Units can be recruited in regions. The number of units you can recruit in a specific region is determined by that region's Maximum Units Per Turn value. The price of a single unit is calculated by multiplying the region's Base Unit Price by the hero's number of yellow stars. So if the BUP=10, then Dingo would buy for 60 per unit, while Trogdor would only pay 40. Tavern Dwellers count as one-star members. Units can only be recruited by a visiting hero.
Heroes and Combat
Units have two stats - HP and damage. By default, both equal 1. A hero can, however, boost those stats with his QPs. For example, Terje has 5 QPs - he can then boost his army's HP by 3 and damage by 2, or possibly leave HP at 1 and increase damage all the way to 6. These have to be set before the hero's first move and cannot be changed later.
Combat works as follows: first, the attacking army attacks, dealing a total damage of [army size*damage value], which leads to the death of [total damage/defender's HP value] of the defender's units. Then, the defender attacks, using the same formulas. This is repeated until one of the army seizes to exist. The losing hero is transported to his team's starting region.
Making money
Each region owned by a team generates "daily income". This can be used to buy units for your army. That's about it I guess.
Travel
Each hero can travel by one region per turn. The exception to this rule is Bottleneck Island, which takes two turns to travel to/from. It is accessible from the following regions: Westland, Joydale, Wossthisplace, There.
Win/Loss
You win by eliminating the other team(s) and lose by being eliminated. Simple as that.
Regional Values:

I could join the green team. Hope I get some partners too, I havenīt got that many qps..
Edit: shouldnīt the Westlands have daily income of 400 too? Otherwise itīs bad idea to have it as starting region.

@Silverblade - there's no experience system because I wanted to keep this game fairly simple. Simple games are easier to keep track of and produce less chaos This was the best me and Terje could think of without resorting to random factors. And which team do I sign you up for?
EDIT: Westland has a lowered income because it is the only starting region with direct access to Bottleneck Island which, if you would care to notice, is the most easily defended region.

I join green team aswell.
... let's see what happens.
Woock, if we are eliminated, and there are still some free regions, can we start over with a new region and a new team?
EDIT: how does having a mod affect the game... QP wise?

Ugh, looks like I've missed some stuff :/
Since a defeated hero doesn't go out of the game but is merely transported to his starting region, a team is considered eliminated when it's controlled area is reduced to only one region.
Also, if there is enough interest in the game, the map will be boosted with possibly a second... continent? And new teams will be formed on it.
A hero can recruit only once per turn, but when he also wants to move to a bordering region that turn, it is not specified which one he recruits from and he can choose
It is possible to check a moderator's QP count I believe, even if not in every way it's possible for a normal member. Hence, moderators will get QP bonuses just like other players.
I will now add up the teams' points, and the next people to join are requested to post their post counts upon joining.

I hope someone with more than 2 yellow stars will join Silverblade soon
Also, I originally posted this thread in Volcanic Wastelands firstly because of the game's setting, and secondly because it'd be noticed by more people here

some questions:
Quote: Joining.
As you join, you choose the team you want to play for. Upon your joining, that team is awarded with an amount of money equal to your post count at the moment of signing up.
Quote: Recruitment
Units can be recruited in regions. The number of units you can recruit in a specific region is determined by that region's Maximum Units Per Turn value.
Quote: Making money
Each region owned by a team generates "daily income". This can be used to buy units for your army. That's about it I guess.
Is the daily income divided by number of team members so that everyone gets equal portion of it? Or do all get the maximum income (as for green team:300)?
And how about MUPT, is there a limit of how many (percent?) one member can buy so that others are left with some too (if two or more heroes are in same region at the same turn and one has money to buy them all)?

Money, as in HoMM, is not carried by specific heroes. When money is spent, it is drained from the team's account.
And no, there is no limit as to how many of the available units a hero can buy except the team's money. You can trade units between heroes of the same team however, as long as they're in the same region.
