This looks great. So the return of the hex grid is definately not just a rumour.
BTW. How do you know that they are unnoficial.

Yes, and to my relief, other things are back in place:
-playable tactical quest map;
-(speculation): unique view of castle (H3 style);
Also: there seem to be 6 schools of magic; the ballista is not a creature anymore (good....); the hex grid (actually a square grid) seems a bit annoying.
The castle screen is not as dramatic as the H3 type, but they can still improve it a lot.
Overall, nice.

With these pictures i start to like Heroes V more and more....
The optic of the battlefield indeed is more H3 related (what i prefer), and they seem to change the magic schools of some spells now (as already mentioned, there are at least 6 different magic schools).
Because on one of those magic book pics, u can see, Bless and Stoneskin belong to the same (earth?) school.
On the other hand, they seem to have validated some spells new. Blind costs 16 (!!) spellpoints, while Chainlightning costs only 13 (or is it 18?). So perhaps Resurrection will cost 30 () points now..
All in all, it looks better every day..

The most important part is perhaps the sword on the adventure map on the last screen, looked like in the trailer as if there would only be the gauntlet for everything. but now there is hope it will change depending what you looking at.

I read in the official forum that the members of the "Heroic Corner", where the screens seem to be from, say that they are from a pre alpha...
Let's see what Ubi sais to this...

Hmm...
Angelito brings up an interesting point. It would also appear that Chainlightning is within the same school of magic as magic missile. Fire perhaps?
Or...
As I looked at the level-up screen for Isabel I noticed one of her options was to level up in "Basic Light Magic". This leads me to suspect the schools of magic are not divided by Water/Fire/Earth/Air. Perhaps the schools of magic are divided much in the same way they were in Heroes IV. Perhaps Light/Nature/Evil/Necromancy ???
All unknown! It's fun to guess.

so the castle view will be optional 2d or 3d?? I mean we saw the video of the town and it was on 3d

Almost for certain they are not the real thing, because, for example, the level up pop-up is totally different in the movie.
The peasant seems to be recruitable in the castle, because it has an upgrade (the red one... , maybe militia? )
I don't like the aspect of the "not-fully-developed" castle on the map (both in these screens and in the movie). It's the same poliedric enclosure with very little details as in H4. Can't they really refine it?
And the spell book has only 3 spells per page... If I am to keep turning page afer page to get to level 5, I'm going to get motion sickness. They should compress it.

In other forums says that this screen was stealed... and are about 1 year old... also say that the 80% of what we see in this screen is not longer in homm V

Is the battle field getting smaller or what.. that single griffin stack takes quite a huge chunk of the arena.

it also looks like that there is new schools of magic. light and dark since the hero had the chance to learn light
