Poll Question: Dream talk
I like dreaming almost as much as i like sleeping. And i was wondering what some of the dreams you people have. so discuss your dreams here, be they wierd, scary, happy, or just plain cool. Maybe its the dream you had 10 minutes ago. I actually thought of this thread in a dream.
Its a shame they're only dreams, when i wake up i realise how pathetic i really am...
While your here why dont you vote for your favourite kind of dream. I want to see what you think, the things going on in your sub-concious.
(incase you havnt realised im talking about sleep dreams not ambition dreams)

Scary Dreams
1. I am at my old high school and headed for math class. Along the way, I somehow find out that I didn't do last night's homework. Worse yet, I sit down outside the classroom door and start to work on my assignment, when I find that I have absolutely no clue as to what I'm supposed to write. And then I notice I'm in the wrong building and I hurry to what I think is the right one; I'm wrong again. I become totally confused with the state of things and everything suddenly stops.
Retrospective Comment: I tend to get paranoid during these dreams because I really, really hate getting behind at school. It's not realistic, but the feelings are quite tangible.
2. I am walking on a narrow wooden walkway above an immense exotic pond at night. Trying desperately not to fall into the water, I move slowly and as balanced as possible. My eyes glance down at the water and barely make out the hideous faces of moray eels and deep sea anglerfish (check out a Google image search) peering back at me. I watch as they swim around and I take another step; this time there's no walkway beneath me and I plunge helplessly into the dark waters.
Retrospective Comment: I'm still scared by those fishes. If it isn't fish, it's something else that's really awful looking (but probably harmless in RL).
Weird Dreams
1. There's this crazy bad guy who enters my house when I'm all alone. I avoid him from room to room, yet he still tries to follow me. I end up at the top of my bunk bed and the guy comes up, too. I'm suddenly shooting him with a double-barreled shotgun but it doesn't harm him at all. He chases me to another room where I've somehow managed to get hold of a frying pan, bringing it down on the guy's head, knocking him out cold.
Retrospective Comment: "I'm the baby! Gotta love me!"
Happy Dreams
1. Dreaming about the girl that I like (who always seems to be busy). She won't be in the neighborhood for much longer, so I enjoy dreaming about her. It's even better if I cry because of the dream; I rarely get to let out my emotions like that. When I do, however, it feels heavenly. Wow.
Retrospective Comment: I need her so badly.
2. Dreaming about reuniting with the friend I lost the other month in Iraq. Being able to talk and joke with him again brings warmth back to my life.
Retrospective Comment: He was a good guy.
Controllable Dreams
1. I never had any; doesn't control beat the purpose of having dreams? Well, now that I've considered it, does playing computer games in reality count?
Retrospective Comment: None.
Normal Dreams
1. Dreaming about the long game where I mass-produced Zealots and Dragoons. Duh...
Retrospective Comment: No wonder why I don't play on Battle.net anymore.

You've never had a controlable dream they're the best ones.
I once had a dream when i was being chased by a monster (it was from a final fantasy game) then i began pinching myself to see if it was a dream and... It was!!
So i turned around a used my 'phycic powers' to blow it to peices.
And then realising i could do anything i made this person i really like (but doesnt notice i like them) appear before me... and i'll just stop there, i dont want to be too graphical (but you can pretty much geuss what happens)

i had kinda weird/scary dream recently.
i was on "the amazing race" and we were on an island. we were having the 12 hour break. the island we were on was totally covered in bugs and spiders aswell as snakes. me, my bro and my dad were together just fighting off one massive spider when some guy chopped it with an axe. then i tried to get away from the bugs but i couldnt. they were piercing through my pants. i was covered with bugs
i then woke up and had to pull the covers off me to check i wasnt actually covered in bugs. i have these dreams a few time a year and get kinda paraniod for the whole day

i had one of those paranoid dreams...
i was lying on my couch, then a masive spider jumped on my face, then i woke up and as a reaction i wacked myself really hard on the face... it hurt.
then i checked my room for spiders... and there was a small one in the corner of my room, i killed it and went to sleep, then i felt guilty.
i also had this dream where i killed one of my friends
the next day he was away from school and i thought i killed him... of course i didnt though.

My current mystery game is based on a dream. BTW on your poll list you mentioned dreams you control.
I have heard that this is actually astral travelling as opposed to dreaming, or at least the 1st step towards it.
Anyone ever had one of those dreams where you are busting to go to the loo and you cant find a toilet anywhere except one that is on view to the public. I have had this often and i know from speaking to others that i am not alone.
my guess is that its your only protection against waking up too late to relieve yourself.

the correct term to controlling dreams is "lucid dreaming". it is where u are aware that u are dreaming as thus u realise that u can do what ever

Sometimes I'm dreaming and in my head I know it's just a dream. Knowing this, I try to do something in the dream like reaching out to a friend or saying something meaningful to a nice girl, etc. Usually when I do that the dream fades and it's all down to memory. I dunno if that's lucid dreaming or not.
If it ain't, I guess the Force isn't strong in me.

i dont really like forcing my dreams, too many controlable dreams decreases thier value (in my opinion). i once had 3 controlable dreams in a row and it got kind of annoying.

Hi I was am very interested in dreams and their meaning and I did just try to start my own thread on 'other side of the monitor' but was told bout this one and thought I could leave my mark.
Reading this dream my interpretation is that at one point during your life's journey you will come to a point where you will fell helpless. The bridge represents the path that your life is currently taking and the water is a boundry that you will hav to overcome.

Quote: You've never had a controlable dream they're the best ones.
Having a controlable dream actually defeats the purpose of having dreams. they are not intended for you to controll they are a way of your sub conciouse and your spirit tell you of things about your life, of what could happen or something that has happened. By you trying to take control of of your dream you are stopping your self from trying to play out its message and from having other dreams. It is a fact that we dream a few hundred times a night but we only remember the ones our mind deems important. try just letting the dream play out without your interfearence.
