Dark Messiah of Might and Magic
New Might and Magic game by Ubisoft has been announced.
The screenshots look awesome, see the trailer here.
It uses the Half Life 2 engine, and IMO doesn't resemble the Might and Magic games I know. However, that doesn't mean it won't be a fun game. The attacking system looks a bit like morrowind, and the enemies are extremely detailed. The enemies, weapons, setting etc. look similar to the old games, except I'm sure the gameplay is a lot different. It doesn't look like you have a party, for a start, which is a first. You can see in the trailer the blocking and attacking systems, and the magic which looks mega cool.

What RPG would be complete without the giant spider?
Dragon. Very good graphics for what appears to be in game footage.
The general storyline is a young apprentice called the Dark Messiah has been chosen to lead the evil forces on some mission and you have to stop them.

i think i will get it
screenshots look good but no party doesnt look all to promising. that was what i loved about previous M&Ms, the building of the party. without that it is just like other RPGs, but the M&M name might just get me to get it

Not in Lord of the Rings.
But maybe it's not an orc, because Orcs don't play a major part in M&M. Could be a weaker troll, or maybe a goblin.

I'm getting this game in 2 days 15 hours, the reloaded version.
This game will teach me how to fight better I imagine, its very realistic so it seems by these vids (One here)

Woot somebody got some insane necromancer skills here, i guess it reached master a level ago.....
On-topic: Bad game, bad grafic, the combat is not impressive at all, lacks good story and lore. Played it and runned it along with watching all endings, daggers is madly rigged.

The combat is not impressive??!! There's tons of ways to kill your opponent on!
Ever slashed 2 goblins in half with one strike? Ever made a BBQ of an opponent by holding them over the fire with telekinesis? Ever fired 8 firebolts into the air and guided the last one, causing all of them to rain down on your opponent?
Dark Messiah rocks, it's all about imagination.

One of my favorite games! That shows the real might and magic universe!
It's awesome that you upgrade yourself in what you whant.

Bad game? No it's fun to make choices all the way through! But that's up to each player what they think of it.
Graphic's bad? I have seen worse! It looks like Half Life 2, and there's nothing wrong with the graphics at all. the source engine is getting old yes, but not ugly.
And i agree with Adrius in the combat! There is thousands of ways to kill the opponent. Use your imagination ;p
The story sucks though, and there is too many bugs in the game. And the idea of spider enemy was the badest idea of them all! So boring!
But all in all it's a real Might and Magic game with lots of fun and good ideas!

the game sucks.
Pros and Cons:
Pro:
It carrys the MM title
It has high detiled graphic
....
Cons:
It destorys the MM title by not siding with the supirior storyline that was alive for adecade and destoryed by the ubivl.
It requierments are high..to high...
It sucks,doesnt look like MM game, shoiuld not be named MM game in the first place.

Great graphics (remember that the game is fairly old now)
Easy combat system built on timing and interaction with the enviroment.
A great variety of satisfying ways to kill.
Thrilling and exciting storyline.
Extremly big replay-value, I've played the same area over and over again at least 20 times since it's always different.
Cons:
Multiplayer is pretty bad afaik, haven't played it myself
Umm... yeah, that's all I can think of...

Multiplayer is not bad, I played it for a bit it was just really hard and a lil confusing
Trying to make a game like that into Counter Strike-esque multiplayer.
Anyone got the expansion pack or the new version?
Is it worth getting?
I have the original on computer but I was thinking about getting the new version for XBOX as I thought it would be alot smoother and easier on xbox..

I have only heard negative talk about the new version to xbox/ps3..
A waste of money..
(btw, is it possible to get any mods to DM, like HL2 mods?
I mean, the minerva Metastasis to hl2 was just awesome..
And both games uses the source, so is it possible to get any mod for dm?)

Dude how can you say it,it has nothing to do with might and magic,like h5,the game should not exist.

Uhh considering it's NOT a might and magic what is your problem? It's a different thing altogether, either you like it or not. If it was a direct continuation yeah go ahead and bash it. But saying it's a disgrace because it's not what it doesn't EVEN suggest it is, is silly and serves no purpose either.

I don't understand those that say games like H5 or DM shouldn't exist. Don't like it, don't play it, it's not like if they wouldn't exist you'd get your 3DO back.
