The town looks pretty good and i especially like the 7th lvl upgrade. You should create the non upgraded version yourself, because currently it doesn't look very good that way. It doesn't make much sense - the younger sister turns into the elder sister. Upgrades are usually the same creature who have better armor/experience/size etc.

Hello gwyn, here're my comments on your town:
1. I think it will blend better with the HoMM V universe if you make it worship Dragon of Water, instead of Neptune. You see that HoMM V towns worship dragons.
2. I agree with others that these names dont sound good: Kappa, Kelpie. Sea horse (or Sea mare?) is better than Kelpie.
3. Mermaid hunter: "mermaid" and "hunter" seems mismatch, beter make mermaid a sorcerer (spellcaster rather than melee/shooter)
4. I also agree that the statue do not match, giant turtle or crab is definitely better.
5. Sea monster? hmm... leviathan?
6. I like the mudman idea

Only a week to go  AHHHH.
I can understand the mythological 'kelpie' and think it is therefore fine. (Although, when I first heard it, I thought it was a dog!!)
Purhaps you could change the mermaid to a Triton (merman) as you already have a number of female units.
I too, think the statue is odd for this town. Change it with anything to do with water!!
Just IMHO also
Oh and if you get a minute.... could you please look at ICTC the Cavern and tell me what you think of the changes (I hate to beg but...)

Hhmm.. Thought of the ideas and placed the water dragon extra to the religion part.
Also I have replaced the statues for turtles and replaced the mermaid hunter for the triton unit.

i do like most of ur lineups.. except i think that octopus as a name for a creature doesnt seem to cut the mark...kraken is fine but maybe kraken could be basic and upgraded to something more powerful...a leviathan as panduwana suggests?

Yes, the links are somewhat all crappy, bah.
And about the octopus, don't really see the problem, I don't want them to look overpowered just by name. I think the octopus itself is already huge in HoMM myhologie and on maps. The Kraken is the biggest and baddest of all. Maybe I could make it big octopus or giant though.

I think this is the best way to create a water-based faction, although I still think that these would not work that well in game. I really like your ideas - although I would also say that octopus is a little strange - I can't imagine octopodes `walking` across the battlefield (a similar case for the scylla I think, although perhaps not as much so). One suggestion might be to bring in "undine" somehow, to add a little more interest beyond what you have already created.

Octopus and Scyllia aren't that hard to imagine.. I am still thinking giving the Scyllia snake legs. So it would be like a hydra unit in walking. Same counts for the octopus. It just has it legs and crawls more then it walks.
And Undine, isn't the nimf a kind of Undine? (And I'm trying not to get too much hero like creature in the town like Kraken and Scyllia.)

Yes the nimf (nymph?) is like the undine - I would just like to see the word there - trivial suggestion really.

Okay, have made the upgrade of the nimf Undine.. Also I have also repaired the links of the other pictures. That hopefully do work.

I really am dissapointed! What is the trogodyte doing in a water town ? The poor guy hasn't got eyes and he can only be found in caves ! did u noticed that in H3 he was green and his upgrade was red ? Thats because he didn't washed himself!!!! Except that i like your town! Nice ! But dunno a water town's creature are pretty obvious! anyway Good Luck!

Because the Troglodytes look pretty similair to the kappa who DO live in water. There are enough water creatures with bad sight or no sight at all. They just have a great smell, don't see your point really.

nice idea but mistake in the units
Troglodyte is a prehistoric race of people who live in caves and dens.
While Kappa are japanese river imps. Simply wrong race
I don't like the idea of changing the sex of the mermaid
just like genie were in HOMM 3. how about Mermaid then upgrade is Siren
Also the Kraken is the myth. name for the giant squid not octopus.
well that about it other then that its a great idea!

I've indeed changed the squid problem..
But I still think the mermaid is okay just like the troglodyte, HoMM always had the ability to change creatures from mythology. Also I only can find it lives in caves scared for others.. Why can't it live in underground caves?
Also the new giant squid picture resembles how it walks on earth (like)

History 6 (history too spaced out..let people have an idea whats happening periodically would be better!)
Creatures 8 (i dont think kappa and troglodytes have a link, and i think a mermaid is more usually a non combat creature..kinda hard to think of fighting mermaids)
Balance 5? (i have no idea how your creatures move/attack/fight)
Originality 9(very good)
Appeal : 9(very appealing)
