I'm especially concerned about the battlefield size and the AI. Please do keep in mind that many players will not be able to play MP (connections, Mac, spare time ...). The game must work for them too.

I sign that it should not be released until it is ready. Clearly the process is being rushed if the beta has all these problems.
I am playing Heroes III now, because Heroes IV is just not the same level of quality gaming that III is. If Heroes V is released in the shape I am hearing it is in, not only will I not play it, I will not buy it, even if all the fixes in the world are promised for later. Once I buy it, I have no recourse and the company has no incentive to fix it.

With this post I do sign up to the World Wide Petition to enlarge the development of Heroes of Might and Magic V over the end of the fiscal year at march 30th.

I'm a consultant in engineering and know the drill. Those programmers and designers are working under huge amounts of pressure and stress to get the game out.
They are cutting corners. They aren't double checking things the way they should. And they're probably burned out and making mistakes. They are looking for the quickest solution rather than the best solution.
And at this very moment many of them are sending out resumes looking for another job. But of course the heads of the company won't know that until people start leaving.
The investors in the company are putting on the pressure. The fans can wait, and so can the investors. It's either some money now, or a lot more later when the success of the game means successful sequels. The intangible financial value of goodwill, trademarks and copyrights can disappear real fast.....what will the investors think then? If that happens, the top executives might be the ones sending out resumes....

I haven't play the beta, (i want to by it in the stores) but if it's not even like Heroes III, it can't be released. It MUST be the greatest game of them all. A map editor must be included, and not one like that in homm iv. (It should be NO scripts or one only trees) I guess nival (and ubisoft) want to wait whit some of the features untill the expansion, (like the towns) but even if so, they should release so mutch they can for now and then gain money, and then make an expansion. I think nival can be trusted more than the cash-hungry ubisoft. Codn't NWC did it insteard of ubisoft) Or crashed it to when 3DO collapsed?
Anyway: The game should be relased in april or may!

I'm definantly in. Heroes III was awsome but Heroes IV was terrable. I want Heroes V to blow my off my feet because it is soo good. And i expect perfection. I think Ubisoft should fix the big problems, and then send out another open beta, so they can work on the little problems later, it will take more time, but it wont be time wasted. It cant be possable to fix all this in that short of time. Delay the date which it should come out, take your time.
