Rating: 10.
Now I'm off to rate at least most of the other towns... this will be a lot of reading
Oh, and on Feedback... Oak, you already have mine

Thanks to everybody for voting
*cough-cough*
There won't be an edit for the town's name, as it would be confusing.
Thanks for listening
Cool... so much people have voted...
Did you ask the people just to rate your post and no others? I would suggest that raters at least have rated 5 times.

Meh, if you put Labyrinth's 10 as suspicious, then you should also include:

10 points.

I am not joking about the ratings. I can find more. You are not the only one. Just you have a lot.
Edit: After looking through quite a few ratings. I think it is mainly the ones in beast-alliance and labryinth's ratings.

It seems that most of the dudes giving a one-time rating in my town are from the Ubisoft Official Heroes V forums. I advertised it long ago there, when it was nearly half-finished. Oh wait. There's a recent post as well:

Author: Oakwarrior
Members/Ratings: ThunderLord/10, Edo/10, unreal_az/48
All 3 members have rated that entry ONLY and have supplied no comments with their ratings.
Member Labyrinth gave ratings to 5 towns: three times 10 (Beast-Alliance, Saurian, Sanctuary), one time 6 and one time 7. I suppose he can't be placed in the same cathegory with the three members mentioned above.
In all honesty, Oakwarrior, would you consider it just for ThunderLord's, Edo's and unreal_az's ratings be rendered void? I am curious of your view on this.

Due to the tiny amount of votes, and an inconsistent number of votes between towns (some have 2, some more, but still the average is probably only 6-8) perhaps the raters marks should only be worth 25% and the panel's rates worth 75%???
It really seems (to me)to be against the spirit of the contest to be analysing all these votes (as well as time consuming). We all knew this was a problem with the rating system from the beginning - I just thought there would be ALOT more people rating so in the long run it wouldn't affect the average rating for any one town.
I am happy to leave things as they are, this is just a thought...
Am ready to be shot down in flames and referred to in bold
Edit-
Also, I rated people in a word document then entered them in batches, so if you see any that I have rated really wierdly post it here so they can be disqualified - it would have been an honest mistake.

Donīt count ratings from members who have voted for less than 50% of the given towns.
Just an idea....

Oh guys....
Tell you why I've only voted that few town proposals?
It's just the mass of stuff to read. I've begun with The Beast-Alliance, with I already knew before, where I've given my feedback during the "development".
The town just gives me some special feeling and I simply love it. Totally. This IS indeed a valid point for a valid rating.
Then I went on with this ocean town which I haven't ever read before. I was just interested in it, because I'm totally into water people and mermaids and stuff, and I was one of those people who voted for an "Ocean town" in the many polls on the various boards, well knowing that it won't ever come true. However this town proposal solved many problems I've had thinking of how you could solve the problem of water creatures walking on land and so on. Also the history was interesting and fun to read, it fit the universe and so on... I was really excited about this proposal, and so I voted ten.
Then I went on to something else that interested me. I scrolled up and down the HUGE proposals list (which is luckily sorted. Thanks for that.) and picked an insect town. When I've read the proposal and begun making out what score I'd go for (the town was somewhat disappointing to me. I've head much higher expectations after reading the first two things), only *then* I found out the town was created by someone I knew. But as you can read, still I had to regret I couldn't give him better marks.
Afterwards I went on to some other town, which I also rated, but I can't remember anymore. And iirc, I read also a fifth one, but I couldn't get to the end because I was somewhat bored and switched to surfing news and working on some projects... after that, I couldn't make myself read more towns - knowing that the ones that are worth reading will be in higher ranks sooner or later and so I'd automatically be provided with stuff that's not going to waste my time.
I clearly state that it can be no fair behaviour to render votes void which come from friends of the town creators. Everyone has the same right to post his remarks and score.

Now that this part of the contest is over it's easy to see the flaws in the rating system. When most of the scores hovered in a small range between 30 and 45, someone who just stops by and throws up a "50" can really throw the thing off. I don't know how to resolve this either. Part of the "fairness" problem was finding people to spend the 25 to 35 hours it takes to read all the entries (out of the millions of people who have played HOMM in their life, it only comes to about 10 people total. Not only that, seven of those ten people were in the contest themselves ). And most significantly, this was a purely creative contest. There was no objective technical aspect on which to judge. I guess my point is that "fairness" might be unattainable.
Having said all that I admit getting caught up in the ratings game myself but we just have to remember that this isn't the Olympics, we won't be getting interviewed by Bob Costas on national TV, and our picture will not be on a box of Wheaties. In fact the biggest effect that our small group will have on the world is that once the contest is over the rest of the HC community will enjoy an uncluttered "Today's Posts".
As for me, (as a way to recompense for anybody who's feathers I've ruffled) if there's anybody who would like their English cleaned up and regularized for the Nival contest I'll do that as time permits. (Just HCM me)

I can't understand the whole fuss about the ratings it's supposed to be a friendly competition and the Nival one is still opened
It's kinda expected from the voting system to be unfair we have a large community here with lots of different views and opinions.
To make it fair the judges should have been the only ones to vote to make sure that ALL towns got rated under the same criteria.
Sorry for all the towns I didn't have time to vote for.
(like the island and others)
Does anyone know when the judges will finish voting?
And can we edit the town yet? I have a lots of updates prepared
