You know how many people prefer free programs to paid programs? About 80% to 20%. So if you make your forum something like shareware (if you don't pay, you won't unlock good functions), there will be about 80% less people. You won't earn as much as you think. Runescape (MMORPG) earned only 25% of what they predicted to earn. Habbo Hotel (quite a retard game) earned only about 15% of what they predicted. People prefer free fun. I am asking you as your follower: do not do this.
Everybody has his crazy moments. Do not penalize us for ours.

well, I agree with Val here.
I haven't been around all that much as of late because I've had a RL comitment. But I couldn't wait to be back. And I love this place, and since only the people who care are going to stay and pay, it'll be even better.
What is 5$ a month anyways? Lunch money?? C'mon man! that's one day's worth of lunch. That amount is nothing and it's just enough for people who don't care to stay away (spammers).
I actually proposed to have this a paying site some time ago and Val never replied, probably because he was thinking it all along. well, good for HC and good for Val. It'll raise the quality of the site, that's for sure. I really don't see this as a bad thing. 5$!! That's nothing!
Good job Val, just tell me when you want us to start paying and I'll hook you up with Paypal.

I lack a Paypal account and the means of starting/maintaining one. Due to the rigors of college life, I am currently unemployed and studying with financial support from my parents. I explained the whole HC situation to my mom and she graciously agreed to help me with the monetary dealings. Of course, I know that not all of HC's members have this kind of fortune on their side, and I think they may ultimately lose out in the payment plan. So while I agree with Val and Conan's call to action, I strongly hope that reasonable consideration will be given to deserving members who cannot pay.

Im only 15 years old, and I really like being here at HC, but to pay for this site that would be bad for me.
I don't have paypal, and I like this site the way it is right now.
I would really like for it to not be a site where you have to pay, as this would probably decrease the number of members that actually come here.
I for one came to this site for:
1-because it is free
2-Because I love HOMM series and love to talk about my opinions and other things
3-Because it is probably one of the only sites that I know that you don't have to pay to actaully say your opinion on things.
I hope that you won't have to pay to actually enetr or post your opinions for this site, and I think that if it does become a paying site to post your opinions, then the members thing will decrease.
