Map Editor & Generator are needed and fast!
And so are more factions! 6 are not enough, we need like 9!
There are dwellings for Phoenix & Deathknight on map. That's the only way to recruit them you know. They can't be obtained in any city...
Slight improvemens on Spectral Dragon will be gladly accepted, but not too much, as the SD has growth rate of 3, while other 7th level creatures have growth rate of 2.
More levels and upgrades?! that's too much... maybe in a mode, not officialy...
Buildings that gain experience... why? yes, people mend those, but still, those are buildings, not troops... overpowering feature IMO.
Chests must be good. Your ideas are nice and creative, but I think they will make the chest feature to complex.
Green light with the artifacts!
Fishing well??? what the ****??? please explain the idea...
Moving creatures option (like mobile guards in HOMM IV) is a good idea.
Emissery of god? these are the Angels... and there is no one god, but 7 dragon gods. i don't think they should directly involve.
By saying "dwellings accumulate creatures" you are talking about external dwellings, right? that option will be nice!
But the best idea IMO is puting your custom made picture as a hero avatar!
Now that is the definition of HOMM coolness!

I havent read the whole chat, but now I got some good idea - how about more level underground, a skyroad? If u dont know what I mean about skyroad - maybe u played the old Might and magic Xeen. There was a skyroad. Just imagine - adventure map flying on a cloud! But there also should be some new town that would be native to cloud terrain. Hope u like it

People you forget something that is important, because of that Heroes IV is not popular like Heroes III!
What is "that"?
That is a --RANDOM MAP--!
Heroes IV have map editor, but creating a map is boring job and I admire all people whom like create maps.

Random maps always sucked, and it was nothing to do with that that I didn't particularly like Heroes IV. Heroes III ruled because of great gameplay, something Heroes IV lacked.

New warmaching - supplies wagon (name isn't important) it gives you
Extra movement
Extra morale
The ability to slightly change the size or your trail
The ability to spend movement to create false trails
When you dig, instead or your guys throwing the dirt randomly, they build a trench, and if some one attacks you while you are on the trench you get added defense, and the combat obstacles are gone, and there is a dirt moat (new kind of moat) protecting you.
When you are in a trench, you can spend 3 wood, 3 ore, and a bunch of movement points to make a mini-fort, and when someone attacks you, you are in seige combat with really weak walls and no towers.
New turn mode time. Instead of haveing unlimited time, or an exact time to do everything, you have restricted unlimted time. Your turn is howeverlong it takes you to do it, but if you dont do anything for 30 seconds it ends your turn. This way you have however long you need, but you can take a snack break or spend 5 minuts with a calculater measuering your moves.
PS - anyone who sits around with calculaters, tables, etc.. measuring they're ever move to be perfect is lame. Especially if they're in multiplayer.

Quote: Ok,ok, Mabey Heroes 3 was more popular then Heroes 4, but i'm mostly talking about the creatures. Ubi Soft was not to inventive when it came to for example Haven... The same creatures, well ok, i can live with that, but they could change them a bit. What if the sqire had a mace??? . But every thing else in the game is great game even if it was almost the same as Heroes 3.
I miss the fact that creatures could walk by them selves, or that the hero played a bigger role in the game... . And the greatest thing about Heroes 4 was that therer were 14 creatures per castle, and you could choose whitc you wanted to have. (if i don't remember wrong)
I think that Ubi Soft and Nival shoud have been more inspired by Heroes 4 while making Heroes 5, but mabey in Heroes 6. And by the way, who would not be happy if Ubi Soft and Nival createn a whole new castle (or two) whitc have never been seen before in the other games!!! . Or get to see some of the castles and creatures (hopefully with some changes and some new) from Heroes 3 and Heroes 4 anaig??? .
You write really weird stuff Da9... You havent come here with a new idea! Why dont u think of a new town? I like the old towns a I think everyone does, so why such radical change? Besides, in homm4 there werent 14 creatures per castle... and conflux sucks!

I think that the supply waggon is given to many abilities, and that we have already disscussed the "mobile fort" concept.
I think that there is little use in such a thing, as it is like building a small town for a while, and that hurts the purpose of the real towns...
And speaking of timed turns, why not just add a timer option that gives you a timer at the resource pannel that just measures your turn's time?
The "30 seconds of iddleness" rule would make many nurveous in my opinion, and will cut down the fun and depht of strategic planning.

My ideas :
Two new towns, one Naga/Fortress, and one Dwarven or a Stronghold
Way more maps (There are like 25 maps in the whole game right now, and if you look at H3 for an example, there is like 100 maps)
New heroes
Might and Magic heroes (That's a something that don't feature in H5, I mean, if there ain't Might and Magic heroes, why do they still call it Heroes of Might and Magic?)
A map editor (But that will probably come in the next patch)
New neutral creatures (More than just Death Night and Pheonix)
Adventure map dwellings for neutral creatures
Random Map generator
And a wish :
I would like to have a Chimera in Dungeon instead of Shadow Witches, that would be cool.

There will be a Dwarven faction and an Orcish (Is that correct?) faction. My guess is that Orcs will be a mix between barbarians and beastmasters.

We don't know for sure, but it seems likely based on information from the deluxe edition version, and also fits well with the general line of the game. Speculations on a Naga town for a second expansion are also abound. The Dwarven nation will probably have a fire/forge theme, while the Orcen nation is likely to be connected to the usual barbarian/plainsman theme. No certainty however, only speculations and more or less qualified guesses.

...because the game has heroes of might and magic?
Magic Heroes:
Academy Wizard
Dungeon Warlock
Necropolis Necromancer
Might Heroes:
Haven Knight
Inferno Demon Lord
Sylvan Ranger
Looks like they have might and magic heroes to me.

I think that the idea was having both might & magic class heroes in every town, for all factions.
That is an essential element that is present in every HOMM game (except HOMM V).
I think that this adds a dimension to the game, not even speaking about the balancing (and equality) that it gives...

Uh, no. HOMM3 was the first to introduce two hero types for each town. HOMM1&2 had one hero per town. HOMM3 seemed like it was a bit of a stretch and it took away some of the differences the towns had up until that point in "do I choose a might or magic town". HOMM3 just made it even all the way across the board. And HOMM4 hero system was a disaster IMO. So what I'm trying to say regarding HOMM5 and it's one hero type per town is, "Working as intended."

Well, if you ask me, there shouldnt be any new hero classes to the original towns. I mean homm5 should be at least a bit original, not the same as homm3. The skill system is changed and it fits to the current heroes. New classes would twist the system up.

Well... yeah, kind of... thatnks for the little correction...
It wasn't official in HOMM I & II (like many other things you could not normally see in the games themselves, but only in the manuals), and the actual seperation did come in HOMM III.
But still, I think that it is better like that, with difined "might" & "magic" heroes.
No new classes needed, just keep the old ones of "might" & "magic"...
