WOOT!
The site looks GREAT Ves, but then again that doesn't surprise me, and I doubt it does anyone else either I tried to download the Beta but it's too large, my dial up always d/c before it gets finished, sigh. But I'm still planning to buy it, but does anyone know if it's feasible to play online with a dial up connection? I never had any problems with Homm3, Shadow Magic, Guild Wars or some other games, but Homm4 was impossible.

Wow... all the vets are coming back. Welcome back Ravyn -- about dialup, multiplayer will be near impossible to play for homm5 unfortunately.

Which is a good thing. Even though h3 and h4 were fantastic games, we have to move on and give our support to H5 -> In this way we can ensure the future of this great series.
If you want to see a h6++, then this is the way to make it happen in a reasonable amount of time imho
After a few patches and some added content (expansions and such) the game might even surpass these others in quality, not just in dimensions

hmm, dun bash me for asking this if it sounds dumb, but where the hell is the random generator, does h5 hav 1? I only seen an early beta version of h5 that didnt hav much game at all, so whats the score, generator included in game? Would be unthinkable if not seen as it mainly the random players that kept homm alive here.

wrong registration #
Quote: Explore the site thoroughly, and check your records. For the next 4 days ToH is in 'beta' form, where all bugs get squashed, and a few minor changes might be made.
You're welcome to post here about anything of the new ToH that might be on your mind... even down to simple
graphical changes.
It's true i am a noob however my registration # is wrong can you please fix this as i joined toh in season #1
thank you
wpaxson
ps i tried sending a email i keep getting errors not sure why perhaps your mail server does not except email from msn hotmail.
i figure to keep it fair players should be able to see how long ive been a member.(not that im good or anything)

na, u #2, the one with the breast's
oh, and how after all the r&d ubisoft supposed to have done and all the fan sites they visited and asked for suggestions they didnt design
a random generator, its unbelivable. the graphics looks great in game from what i seen, but who the hell cares bout the graphics in a strategy game really :/
pfft, see u all in 2007 maybe.

paxson, unfortunately I can't 'fix' a registration number, it registers as the time you add yourself to the automation.
I just got my game (basic one, not collectors) today. Won't have time to play it until friday though

its too bad you didn't carryover any veteran icons... but oh I remember your honor medals for sure.
I just visited the multiplayer ubisoft room, there was 2 people in duel room, and 6 people in regular room. So still very early it seems.
There are 5 duel rooms, 5 regular ubisoft ranked rooms, 5 regular non-ranked rooms. I'm curious to see how busy it will be there on the weekend, and how many are playing for regular games vs. duel. I get the feeling that duel will be active in the beginning, but will bore fast, while people move to regular games.

No ToH H3 or H4 support
Why would you want it?
H3 is ancient. However, as much as I love the game I can't bring myself to mourn its passing in ToH.
It served us admirably for many years. In terms of computer game longevity you could conceivably say that it lived forever.
Folks are still playing it. Hell, I still play it sometimes when I get off of work and I'm so wound up that I can't sleep. Pummeling the comp on Impossible difficulty is a sure remedy for sleeplessness and those ArchAngels on the game's rankings page are kinda pretty to look at, I guess..........
As far as H3 multiplayer games go, lemme ask you this--where's Zud, Hap, Rych, Pan, Blade, Odin, Dracos, Motor, your favorite opponents etc, etc, etc..........???
To quote Tolkien "The world has moved on" and chances are if you're a longtime diehard HoMM fanatic then most of your online friend have, also.
My point is that most of us loved H3 just as much for the friendly opposition as the quality of the game. The quality of the game can only keep you enthralled for so long and once its luster has dulled and all of the old and dear friends have moved on the game loses most of its appeal.
It was damned hard for me to accept this idea, but truth and reality have a knack of sinking in given enough time.
H4 was a joke to me from the onset. It enthralled me as a singleplayer game but I found it lacking with regard to multiplayer potential. Transfers were prolly the main reason, I guess....
Looking back, I think it was to our advantage when 3DO was flushed down the tubes and Ubi took control of their holdings.
HoMM was either going to experience a rebirth through an entire remake or it was going to die without an attempt from Ubi to sustain it.
Take a moment to consider the potential of H5 and you'll realize that you don't need anything more for your 'Heroes fix'. This game is an incredibly well blended combination of H3 and H4 and it's backed by a huge name.
H5 is a classic game funded by an enormously strong company that appears to be very dedicated to making it be as successful as Ubi can make it. Why? Good games make $$ and that's what they're in the business for.
I don't see UbiSoft going bankrupt anytime soon. The fact that this company was willing to listen to and build upon the Hommunity's objections to the game's early release tells me that they are dedicated to making this a game that will provide its fans with boundless entertainment. Why? Where's the profit in selling b.s. if you're not in the fertilizer business?
I'm 100% behind Ves in saying that H3 and H4, beloved as they may be, have no place in ToH anymore. The game has evolved----cataclysmically.
Let's enjoy the fruits of years and years of evolution together.
See ya on the battlefield!
