Yeah guys keep on banging ! Well I'm mostly into Thrash, Speed and Heavy metal also Death metal is quite good for my ears . I like many many bands so I won't even start naming them because that would take a long time... Anyway now I'm mostly into soviet - early post-soviet era bands from the ex-soviet union countries. Yeah those guys played metal too, don't be surprised, and they didn't just play it they really ruled. If any of you has even minimum knowledge of Russian language and you are interested in those bands who dared to play metal of great quality in those screwed political conditions you can visit this Russian forum: link. If you can't read Russian I don't think it will be a problem just to try to download something - use online translator or just try pushing links - the site is absolutely safe . If any of you will have the free time and the will to check those bands out write your opinion here.

Hiya there Cocodemon, I've been struggling for a while now to dig out some some soviet rock. I like hard rock, trash metal, heavy metal and folk metal. I must confess though that death metal is not really my thing.
Problem is, that being brazilian its not all that easy for me to find that which im looking for, plus its always better when you have someone with previous experiences to point the way. I do read cyrillic characters without trouble but my russian is mediocre at most.
Bands I´ve heard and liked include: Melnitsa, Arkona and Kipelov
I heard some other but was not exactly touched by their music.
Do you have any recommendations for this rock loving bastard?

Sorry for the late response. Yeah Aria is a great band - I would recommend listening to their first 4 albums, especially Blood for blood, those are superb. Also you could try to listen Master - 1987 "Master",I'm not into their later works. You also must try the band called spider-web and their album Krax . This is one of the best russian metal creations. Also you would like to try such groups as Magnet and its later formation called Kredo Here Here , and here. You want more? I bet you do . So other super fantastic band is First aid - all of their albums are great (here here and here). Also there is this nice band E.S.T. their first 2 albums kick ass.(dunno if they are available in the link).Other fun bands to check are : Joker here, Black coffee (first album). There are many more but these are many favorite. You also said you are into thrash metal so there are some great treats for you: Iron stream their first 2 albums and demo are super quality thrash demo 1 album 2 album. Also yuo should try all 3 albums of the famous russian thrashers - Shah. I also enjoy Korrozia metalla and their first 2 albums Russian Vodka and Ordin Satani. Also there is this great thash band DAIJ with their album here . Last but not least comes the band Mortifer with their super creation Euthanasia.
hope that helps and if you have any questions just as me I will try to visit this place more often .
P.S. sorry for the grammar mistakes and the poorly written text but I'm just to lazy to work on that.

BTW I forgot to name my favorite Russian band ever. It's named Clinic (Klinika) and it has released two great albums. there are a few links: Metal-archives and tribute page. In the second one you can see a few clips from a tribute band called Poliklinika.
The Klinika guys handle their instruments very well also their lyrics are super - the most fun lyrics I have ever heard. I could send you the lyrics if you'll be interested since you said you can read russian. And anyway if you will have troubles finding their albums - I could send you them via Skype when I'll have time or something .
anyway does any of you guys collect albums of your favorite bands? Maybe someone has a collection that he is proud of and would like to show us? Pictures would be appreciated. I myself collect only vinyl records, mostly Russian thrash and heavy metal, however I don't have a camera, nor I have many records (only 25 units). So I'll save my chance to shine for the future

I feel like ripping the non-existant hair out of my head right now.
Almost all of this summer's festivals are full of great bands from manowar, mötley crue and hammerfall to newer stuff like in flames and disturbed.
And I'm stuck in the army!

Listen to mostly anything in the genre. Be it death metal, thrash or speed or simple classic rock n' roll. Since my dad listens to classic rock n' roll (Elvis ), my bro listens to the rock as the rock was so "evil" (guns n' roses) and my other bro' who listens to the hardcore stuff. What I prefer is entirely different though! I'm mostly into symphinical, melodical or instrumental stuff, and it really doesn't have to metal either (Paganini is easily the coolest guy that ever lived!). There fore I listen to Luca Turilli/ Rhapsody (of Fire), Nightwish and such stuff. Even though I like all the other stuff this and normal symphonies (especially violins!) or symphinic metal are my favourites.
In my playlist right now:
Alien Ant Farm
Guns n' Roses
In Flames
Craddle of Filth
Tom Lerher
A
The Hives
Rhapsody of Fire
Luca Turilli
Nightwish
Machinae Supremacy
Backyard Babies
Rainbow
Thin Lizzy
Blind Guardian
Gamma Ray
Falconer
Haste the Day
System of a Down
Linkin Park
Oasis
Queen
Apocalyptica
Vivaldi
Paganini
Locatelli
Mozart
OST
Heroes
Diablo II LoD
Portal
Mass Effect
I got a lot more, but I just wanted you to get a general view of my wide variety of music!

Czech TicketPro Portal says 790-990 crowns, which is like 30-35 euros.

be sure you tick the box where it says something like: "add my signature to every post". Or tick it manually under the text box when you write posts. Any way I should direct you to a Q and A thread somewhere, for similiar qestions.

Thanks for the help Shares, I have no idea how the hell did I miss that tick, because I was looking for that sort of thing to trigger the signature on.
Back to the topic:
Yesterday I found this nice band called Bullet. Nothing original - they sound like AC/DC and they don't deny that. However their music is fun to listen to. This is their official site : http://www.bullet.nu/ Cheers!

I don't know if I would call myself a metalhead... I enjoy non-metal music just as much. And punk and shock rock of course classic music sometimes .. I love violin.
Marilyn Manson
Tim Skold
James Marsters
Godsmack
Billy Idol
Deathstars
KORN
Samael
Cradle of Filth
Pain
Gothminister
Dope
Otep
HIM/Vile Valo
Cheap Trick
Twisted Sister
The Sweet
Ozzy Osbourne
Slade
Samvel Yervinyan/Yanni
KMFDM
Hypocrisy
But yeah, alot of bands are metal (those are just what I usually listen to, that I can think of) .. but nah, most aren't actually.
I used to listen to black and death metal all the time, but I got tired of the non-rythm and wanted something .. easier actually singing along to+I got neck problems

Shares, do you know where to get Diablo 2: LoD soundtrack?
Tried to extract it from the game files, but failed miserably.
Also some songs from WoW soundtrack are cool.
@CoCoDemon: you might want to try lithuanian rock bands like Thundertale and BiX. They got some pretty awesome stuff.
