I have not played too much of LSL, but I played a little, and it was not my kind of game, well it might be now, but back when I was younger and tried it (yeah I was curious), it was not for me 
I like Curse of Monkey Island, that is a good game, but it is not that old.

None of those are old games...
...but they are great games!
Anyone here who has beaten Contra III the Alien Wars for SNES?
I got it week-and-a-half ago or so. Only managed to beat it with 7 lives on normal for now. Only on level 3 with hard and three lives. Gonna keep trying though. Amazing game. Challenging too.

My favorites
I still keep a 80386 around so I can play some of the old games. Many do not run under XP even with compatibility settings or with problems like no sound.
JetFighter (by Velocity) circa 1988, came as a freebee on Quatro Pro spreadsheet program. Graphics were CGA but the physics were pretty good. JF 2,3,4 also came out.
WhipLash auto racing was/is a blast to play. You can go back and see the developers/coders/testers names... and notice that they have worked on some of the newer games so they have been in the business quite a while.
SoulBringer while not really old circa 2000, is fun to play and I like games that do not require the CD to play.
I wrote quite a number of character based games mostly simple stuff but I did one in graphics mode that mimic'd the console game Star Castle with a space ship in the center and 3 rings (polygons) around him rotating.
King's Quest I is a real gem. You used to need a play disk.
Modern games take so loooong to play, you're with it for a week or so.
My wife dinks in the merchant screen longer than she adventures.
Nicholas Golfe with the red bar on the left and uses only a space key to play.
And of course Heroes Tarnum series.

Remember the oldies!
Mario - First game i had and perhaps first virtual game i ever played (or the next one)
Tetris - I don't remember how old i was when i first time got hand held Tetris but it sure was great experiece
Sonic - I never had Sega but my friend had it and if we didn't play Mario we played Sonic
Doom - In 1995 (when i got my first computer) Doom was big thing at the time. Only had the demo then but played it constantly
Space Invaders - My first computer game experience. Classic
Grand Theft Auto - Altough the sequals are even better first GTA was great game at the time. Remember "suckmyrocket" ?
Asteroids - If we didn't play Space Invaders we played Asteroids! I actually still like this game.
Pacman - I don't remember Pac from early days but still played it quite lot whit 386.
Final Fantasy VII - My first FF and RPG experience! Still the greatest game! Story, music and the charters. I was amazed.
Mortal Kombat - I and III are the classic ones for me. On PC and Sega.
Heroes II - My first Heroes game! Still my favorite
... damn i run out of time.

Worms are fun but nothing beat the good old SNES though! Legend of Zelda: A Link to the past, Super Mario ... good old days

I just got out of Pokemon rehab after Diamond came out. I'm 22 years old and I can't break my addiction to those damn games.

Go get him valiery ! use something like you red hat to beat him or spam him with yellow smileys or make sure he doesnt survive through your blue pins of death!
use the daimond tip of your staff to make a hole through his stomach or strip him of his silver username and golden stars!

Hi,
- I think I have posted about it before, can't remember. But I really like(d) : Birthright : The Gorgons Alliance Man if a rewamp of that game would only be made. That game has it ALL imho.
I think I still has it on a cracked cd somewhere. Anyone knows it or have played it in the past ?
