I just realised everyone posted a hero or more, except me. That just felt wrong.
Grostarh
Grostarh is a fearsome orc leader whose brutality and cruelty are famous not only among his enemies, but among his troops, too. Many of them would rather die than face his wrath.
Specialty - Overlord (Troops in this hero's army cannot have their morale lower than 0)
Starts with Basic Bloodlust, Basic Attack and an attack ability, I was thinking about tactics but could he learn the ultimate skill in that case? Someone remind me of the ultimate skill table please

There's nothing wrong with "Thadda"!
As for the moat thing, perhaps the special could be changed so that it works whether the town has a moat or not - or maybe she allows a town to have a moat even if it hasn't yet built one?
Warlord - I was just checking that this was the name of the hero type.

yup Thadda is a great name but the specialty needs tuning.
Grosthars specialty is good, no probs with name and don't worry about ultimate skill all heroes can't get it anyway but the description must be lengthened.

Gnoll Mage dude, you know how merciless these fans are. They are gonna be picking at every details. The name Thadda sounds a bit cartoonish, for a lack of better word. How bout Thandra? The moat ability could work ... Lemme think about if I have any suggestions to improve it. Baklava, you're gonna need to lengthen your heroes bio. How bout changing your Hero's starting skills to Basic Defense and Vitality?

You know what Baklava, since Grostarh is more of a badass than my hero Greshmog, you take Battle Frenzy and I'll take Tactics. The River of Blood moat one is a tough one. And we're nearly finished.

Here is my reworked timeline of the Stronghold. I have changed it to fit into our new ancestor worshipping idea, cut out some inconsistancies and removed some Campaign-spoilers. Tell me what you think about it.
THE STONGHOLD TIMELINE
330. YSD – The first lunar eclipse and demon invasion in history. Unprepared mortal armies are vastly outnumbered by the ravaging demon hordes and the Human and Elven lords are forced to seek help from the wizards. As a response, the mages alter some demon blood and inject it to human slaves and prisoners, causing horrible mutations. Those who wizards experimented upon become taller and stronger through much pain and suffering. Their faces deform and their skin starts burning and falling off. Seeing that, the wizards inoculate a special, altered form of strengthening pigment into these mutants. Since that was an alchemic mix of reptile skin and poison antidotes, the newly regenerated skin of the Orcs, as the wizards called these abominations, becomes green.
As the Orcs had demon blood in them, they were eager to fight, especially when the wizards promised them freedom after that. The berserking Orc masses played a decisive role in destroying the demon armies, but seeing their destructive nature, the mages and the Falcon-people decide it would be better to keep them in their armies, rather than granting them their freedom. This causes much unrest among the Orc troops. Many Orcs vow to one day earn their promised liberty, by any means possible.
467. YSD – The Orcish elders in the Seven Cities finally launch a full-scale revolution against their Human oppressors. Noticing that, the Orcs stationed in the Haven lands do the same. The Falcon emperor sees this simply as a local rebellion and sends a little force to deal with the unsatisfied Orcs.
469. YSD – After the emperor’s expeditionary force has been completely defeated and almost annihilated by the rampaging Orcish rebels, he saw that he must send his entire battalions to destroy this threat. As the Orcs rejected all known dragons, the emperor called the anti-rebel troops – crusaders. Henceforth, the Orc Crusades have been formally launched.
470. – 502. YSD – The crusader forces fight brutally against the Orcish rebels. Those who made a revolution in the Seven Cities join forces with those from Haven to create a massive Orcish liberation army. However, outnumbered by the better-equipped human soldiers and wizards, they are forced to retreat. Some pull back to the vast southern deserts, in hope that the crusaders will not go after them, because of fear of thirst and hunger. Only a few of them survived until today because of the harsh desert conditions. Others decide to travel through the largely unexplored north-eastern steppes, hunting for their food and constantly battling the native barbarian tribes. But a great majority of tribes went east, towards the Barrier Islands. Despite the warnings of the wizards, human armies start following them, determined to annihilate all of the eastern Orc refugees.
502. – 504. YSD – As the Orcish rebels reached the eastern coasts, they have started building massive transport ships and moving towards the off-coast archipelago. It is there that they have founded their first cities, towns and villages. But a few months later, the humans summoned their own powerful fleet and boarded their troops inside them, ready for battle. The unknowing Orcs could not win a battle over the Falcon’s army, neither at sea or at firm ground. Fortunately for them, a great storm shook the seas when the human troops were supposed to disembark on the Barrier Islands. The raging winds summoned massive waves which crushed the empire’s ships as a titan would crush a zombie. In a couple of hours, the once-mighty Falcon’s fleet was no more. Seeing this, the emperor calls of the attack, believing only a dragon god could do that to his forces. With that event, the Orc Crusades were finished.
505. YSD – After years of having to fear for their lives, the Orcs finally fully settle on the Eastern Islands. Capturing and interrogate several Dwarven and Human explorers, the Orcs used their many secrets to jumpstart their civilisation. Elderly Orcs start getting visions of their ancestors and via the dead start to unravel the arcane secrets.
512. – 520. YSD – The Shaman Council is formed. The most powerful of shamans join it and, through the guidance of their united forefathers, proclaim themselves the ruling organ of all Orc states and tribes, in order to unite them.
552. YSD – Orcs made first contact with the goblins. Abandoned by all dragons and weak on their own, the goblins are quickly subdued by Orcish fists and blades. Smarter ones become good soldiers, some even heroes of the Orc society. But the most of them become little more than ordinary slaves, due to their simple-mindedness.
586. YSD – Wild packs of wolves are noticed around the isles. Several tribes start raiding wolf nests and tame the pups. Orcs train more beast masters and finally perfect the skill of wolf riding.
612. YSD – Ragdor, a young and strong Orc warlord, tries to seize control for himself. He proclaims himself Grand Chieftain of All Tribes and gathers his followers and marches towards the Shaman Council’s headquarters. After a lengthy struggle, he is defeated and publicly fed to the wolves in the arena of the Orcish capital, Garthorra.
638. – 642. YSD – Orc scouts encounter Wyverns on an island of the Barrier archipelago. Through much effort and a large cost in lives, some wyverns are brought to Garthorra to be studied. In 641. YSD the Orcs have managed to gather some vital information about how to more quickly tame these beasts and by 642. YSD the Wyverns have become regular troops in the Orcish armies and war bands.
696. - 701. YSD - A failed execution of a Goblin lead to the creation of the first Hobgoblin. The Shaman Council sees potential in the newly mutated creature and starts to develop and perfect the creation of Hobgoblins.
734. – 748. YSD – Trolls come out of the deep and seemingly abandoned caves on the Ulnarok Island (home of the Orcish capital) and start attacking Orcish cities in the vicinity. Threatened greatly by these beasts, the Shaman Council calls upon the guidance of their ancestors. One night, the entire Council gets visited and has the same vision, showing an ancient and forgotten creation of the Dragons that was sealed on the islands. Calling upon every shaman and apprentice, they gather on the sacred burial grounds, the Dimo’Ragh. Using their combined effort, they start a summoning ritual that was shown by the Ancestors. The ritual lasted a weak and required many sacrifices, but eventually the shamans succeed in releasing the Behemoths from their ancient, magical prison. With behemoths by their side, the Orcs easily defeat the trolls. Some even willingly offer to join them in their ranks and the Orcs accept, thus gaining not one, but two more mighty units for their lands. And so began the modern ages for the Orc lands.
749. – 862. YSD – During this time, while other races waged many wars and battles, the Orcs were busy rebuilding their towns ruined by the trolls. However, as their islands were limited, they realised that they will soon run out of resources if they continued like they had. Henceforth, the Shaman Council decides that their people must return to the continent they were banished from, and start making colonies, taking what’s rightfully theirs. An experienced warlord named Galathern is chosen to do this.
883. – 958. YSD – The Orcs start building colonies in the mostly uninhabited eastern coasts of the continent. However, they slowly begin moving westward and northward, towards the richer parts of land. As the Orcs, because of demon blood, live approximately 120 years, the colonists were led by Galathern’s son Krothan who took over his father’s position after his death in 845. However, he died in 948. YSD and his son, Thulgan, was forced to take the lead. Too young by Orcish standards, he is granted a mentor, the only non-Orc the Orcs respected and trusted – Crag Hack, the most famous of all the adventurers and mercenaries in the modern ages. The Orcish colonists paid him well for teaching their new leader all he knew, and he was too greedy not to accept that offer.
969. YSD – As the Orcs have already considerably moved themselves to the west, they started caring about what happened there. With a new demon incursion, their warriors were eager to enter a fight after years of peace.

To continue on the recent discussion on the last heroes, I'll give my info and opinions.
Firstly for the gaps I left behind. (Sorry forgot to post those) I was thinking of Basic Bloodlust, Basic Nature Magic, Basic Light Magic. If we realy need to change his name, make it Sovarb. The raise in the defence of the Dire Behemoth should be a point or 2, maybe even 3 but I'm saying this with a huge sense of caution as I have absolutely no idea of what is balanced or not.
On the hero created by Baklava, I like him, he sounds a bit like the way Stalin acted in WOII, most sovjet soldiers feared him way more than the German soldiers they were fighting. Still I think the Bio should be lenghtend, especialy looking at the lenght of the other heroes. I also like to ask to consider to change the name of the special ability, make it Furious Overlord to state his attitude even more.
As for the discussion about the new heroine Thadda, I firstly suggest to change her name to Thaddra. Not a huge change but enough to mkae it sound less silly (I agree with SBlister that it sounds to much like tadda). I also agree that the special ability needs to be changed as it is rather useless in like 90% of the game. Having said that, the bio needs to be adjusted to fit the new ability. Maybe something like a bloodlust booster, most towns seem to have one of those heroes that boost their own starting skill. Just asuggestion.

I took the liberty of modifying Grostarh's bio since Baklava is busy these days. I think that should round up the 10 heroes. I will include Thaddra too but the speciality really needs to be modified.
Grostarh
Grostarh is a fearsome orc leader whose brutality and cruelty are famous not only among his enemies, but among his troops, too. Many of them would rather die than face his wrath making him one of least trusted Orc Warlords around. But in these troubled times, the orc tribes are in dire need of any experienced commanders and Grostarh has been summoned by Raxxon to take charge of the armies that guard the eastern borders of their lands.
Vicious Overlord: Troops in this hero's army cannot have their morale lower than 0.
(Starts with Basic Bloodlust, Basic Attack and Battle Frenzy)
And I've made some adjustment to the latest timeline which all of this can be seen in the MASTER POST on PAGE 8.

I like how you edited Grostargh.
However, putting 50 goblins in an additional tower seems like a radical idea; perhaps we should think twice about that. Personally, I'm not sure whether it would be useless, normal or overpowered.
WarOverlord, as always, nice job. Sheesh, our timeline is longer and cooler than the official one of the whole Ashan.

Dude... Why on Earth are you so fond of that name anyway? What difference does it make if we put in an extra R or L or something?
Never mind, I'm staying out of that one.
As Ubisoft's greed made them want to publish the expansion in the holiday season, we have a bit more time. Though I still think our Stronghold would be excellent for the second expansion.

How about something like this:

A'ight, listen up:
First you register for free at an image hosting site (like PhotoBucket.com). Then you reformat your desired pic to a .gif format, if it's not already a .gif. Then you simply upload your pic there and copy/paste the >img link here. The pic will stand where you put it until you delete it from your account at the image hosting site.
Make sure your pic is not too big in size and resolution.

Thanks very much for your support Joonas, but I think we're outvoted on that one!
As for her ability, perhaps the river of blood appears on battlefields, and has the same effects as I listed. It could either be randomly placed, or up to the player. As usual, effectiveness depends on hero level.
As for creature growth buildings don't forget that the existance of them needs to be factored in to the decision about standard weekly growth.

Thanks for the many kind words of my revised timeline, but I have to pass most of the credit back to Baklava, as he is the one who created it in the first place, I merely editted it.
Secondly, I realised that we have to rework the description of the Behemoth to fit our new history/mythology. I also noticed that the description of the Shaman Mystic still refers to the late Dimorgh, I suggest that to be changed. I will rewrite the new description for the Behemoth below, it will be lenghtend though as I've come up with a new myth for their creation. It has also occured to me that I don't realy understand the workings of devour. Will it only heal the Behemoth or will it also resurrect dead creatures if a certain threshold has been reached ? How will the amount of healed HP be calculated and will it only heal HP or will it also cure curses? I also corrected a small error in the timeline. I realy like the building techtree, though I'dd like to suggest to change the name of The Cage of Warlords, to The Halls of Valhalla, in reference to the Strongholds of HOMMIII and to me it doesn't realy make sense how a 'prison' should boost the training, while a expansion of the original halls makes more sense.
Behemoth
In ancient times, the Dragongods created life and with it they created Behemoths. However, after the Dragons saw the Behemoths and their destructive- and ruthlessness, they realised they had made a mistake in creating them and magically sealed them in hibernation deep inside of the earth. However, in their time of peril, the Orcs learned of their presence and released them from their tomb.
The Behemoths match most Dragons in size and have enormous, razor-sharp claws. Combined with their monstrous strength, they are able to tear through most known armour platings or hides. Behemoths usually make their lairs in canyons, usually out of bones of creatures they devour. Behemoths will eat anything they kill and have even been known to prey on Dragons.
I also realised that we haven't created Thulgan as a hero. If nobody specificaly want to, I'll create him.
I've also made the Facts and Traits for the Stronghold.
The Stronghold.
Facts and Traits
Aka: The Orcs, the Greenskins, the Barberians
Associated colors: Grey, Green, Red
Worship: Eventhough the Orcs acknowledge the Dragongods, the Orcs feel they have been abandoned by them and therefor do not bind themselves to these gods. Instead the Orcs worship the spirits of their ancestors.
Core Philosophy: "Life without honor is not worth to live."
Core Philosophy: "To live by the sword, is to die by the sword in honorable combat."
Country/Kingdom: The Savage Isles and The Orcish Colonies
Capital City: Garthorra, the Conclave of the Shamans Council.
Key Symbols:The Crossed Orcsabres, The Hand crushing the Skull

Quote: It has also occured to me that I don't realy understand the workings of devour.
I was thinking how it could resurrect fallen creatures and damage the enemies' but on the other hand, even if dead behemoths could eat opponents, that certainly wouldn't bring them back to life so I kinda feel it would be better if they'd just heal themselves without resurrecting. The damage dealt by devouring remains to be seen, I was thinking about 200 or 300. Of course, devour could only be cast once per combat.
