The 200 episodes you made a while ago are valid dimis. They were generated like Xarfax wants. You could send them.
BTW I'd like a copy of them as well. Copy-pasting the tables in the pdf-file Hack on ANSA doesn't work since most cells are empty.
I'm sorry that I haven't been able to contribute yet Xarfax, but I've done other tests in the meantime.
I've discovered something very interesting today, but I haven't got any time today or during the weekend so I'll post them monday in the other thread.

I'm sorry I didn't contribute yet guys. I did read the thread but I couldn't find the time and energy to do my share of the testings yet.
Now it's the last week-end before my two weeks trip to England, so I can't do any testings till the end of the month. Sorry for that but like I said Real Life > HC for me these days.
But I'm still interested in the skill trees and all, and I hope we'll find out eventually. Don't give up too early, Xarfie. Rome wasn't built in a day.
PS : Just as a reader, since I didn't contribute yet as explained above, I'd like to say that it's true this thread got a bit puzzling to follow at some point, a bit drowned in the theorical debates when it was originally meant as a straightforward actual testings project.

better late than never
Just submited 200 tests made on another map. As I've written in an earlier post, I had technical difficulties with the initial map you provided Xarfax, so, I reported my results from a test in this page at the address: Xarfax1@t-online.de
Edit: Here is the excel file I reported. EOE

Just a bit about "fixed skill tree". Actually I don't believe that there is fixed skill tree generated when you start HOMM. BUT it is random number generator which resets only when you start HOMM.
As far I have mentioned that loading saved game and fighting same fight gives you same results in getting morale, luck and all other specialities (even cataput shots for example). But even moving one unit in another way, or changing starting place of some units gives you different results. I haven't found all things that can change results of this random number generator so far.
just my 2 cents

@ matkov
The skill tree is fixed. But not in the way that it's stored somewhere in the game. Perhaps it would be more precise to say that the skill tree is predefined.
In my experience if you fight the same battle in the exact same way damage/luck/morale/catapult shots and everything else that involves elements of chance will happen in the exact same way again. But, I'm not 100% positive on this fact.
Matkov, if you want to know more about the skilling tree you should read this thread as well as On the internals of offered skills when leveling-up a hero.
Until you've done that, please keep your two cents, they only add to the confusion between right and wrong.

I am just wondering....
Is there any hope that we have a large test-set on this task before this year reaches an end?
I just hope ...
Olaf, btw, how many test-sets do we have already?
Thanks,

Unfortunately we can't create e.g. a level 6 hero with 7 empty skill slots and 1 skill at basic/advanced level. But this would be the ideal way of testing. If this was possible we could easily detect if a skill from some skill-group had to be offered at level 7.
Maybe here WoG can help. In WoG you can forget skills or even with ERM set a hero to a certain level and with one skill only. The game mechanics are the same for the rest (the same level-ups for instance).
