First of few points here:
- Provocating me as any other member is not allowed in HC, read the rules.
- Offtopic replies in this thread (which is given to log crashes of HC, not to complain about other non related to HC boards and mods in those boards) are also unwanted.
- If you have a problem the way I moderate the board, please do not wait and write a HCM to Valeriy. I don't have time to guess what I did wrong.
- And I didn't delete any of your replies after that time when you were royally unhappy, please stop accusing me of actions I didn't do.
And finally all personal issues should be discussed in HCM, as a member who was here for a long time you should know that.

Not really crashes, but I do experience a lot of slowdowns on the website lately. Server being unresponsive or only very slowly loading the page (if it loads at all).

Yes it doesn't always happen to everyone at the same time... when you and shadow crashed the other day, mine didn't either.

That was a big one 10 minutes maybe...
Is this only happening to me - if everyone could post that would be grand - I am going to have to start editing my posts and actually figuring out GMT time otherwise

I don't know what kind of crashes you guys are having. But upgrading to the latest version of Flash Player stopped my crashes. As far as I know HC doesn't use flash, so I think it's some of the banners causing problems.
Also, I never got crashes when I had my security settings set to high. I only got the crashes when I lowered security to log in. (that's why I started looking for some kind of scripting or activeX control as the culprit)

ahaaa!
if ActiveX is the culprit, the solution is easy... stop using Internet Explorer... Firefox is a perfectly viable alternative (and better by far)

I actually use both - and it happens with both firefox and IE. There are problems with HC and firefox as well. Don't you have any issues there?
Thanks for the ideas though - I am pretty computer illiterate but I will investigate I was also hoping Val might have some ideas on this...

I have to agree 100%, I use Firefox all the time except I do use IE when I have to delete all my hcm's in one go, because with Firefox you cannot do that for some stupid reason.
FIREFOX IS THE BEST!!!!
But alas, it sometimes crashes for me for maybe 1 to 5 seconds and thats it.
But that's no biggie.

activex when getitng a hcm - sux. I get a popup and sometimes a freeze. Is it really worth having alittle unwarranted ring when u get a hcm if u also get an annoying popup and a frozen explorer? I dont think so.
