G'day guys. After a lot of hard work and a lot of inspiration, my new album is finally done. Here is the link for anybody interested. If you have a listen, lemme know what you think.

Melancholy

The album was spawned after what has happened lately to me in my personal life. To try and distract myself from the problems I was facing I decided to knuckle down on my music. I was in a heavily inspired and very creative mood and this is the result. This album is, in my opinion, probably one of the best I have ever created and I can only hope that you guys like it as much as I did creating it.

Greetings William

Did a sample pass on several tunes (nabbed the site for batter listening later)I'm an old rock and roll dog and never went far in this genre but one thing is very clear to me anyway (even with that handicap<L> you've came a long way.

From what I heard, I think as a modern-electronic-finger-man,<vbg> you've advanced quite nicely...you have a professional edge to your sound...more than ever.

I'll share a criticism that I really have with the genre ingeneral but maybe it will mean something to you in one way or another; after listening to pure electronic music for a while..."I end up missing (or longing for) a normal heartbeat" Tempo doesn't matter.

Everything that follows means little since it's only my personal take and nothing more. The second tune (resentment?) so far, does the best at delaying that feeling of mine.

I think the best way I can share what I value is something that Bill Alexander teaches in his oil-painting<L> Yeah, he's teaching painting but when we make music we are painting with different brushes, right? In short, I want some obvious "contrast" not a clash, just something akin to light and dark sitting side by side to draw the best out of both directions. Maybe just a traditional bass beat and drum beat, aka, Heart-beat-combo, here and there would help me hang-out longer.

iow...I feel I'm getting lots of awesome-icing but I'm yearning for a little more cake to go with the incredible decorating work.<S>

Just some thoughts...nothing grand.

Btw, ever thought of getting together with a traditional bass player and drummer? Seems it would be a very nice stage for you to dance on, if you know what I mean. The mates set the tempos and heartbeat and then you do what you do best.

Anyway, Cheers....great work!

Nice work, William. I played them while I was writing some stuff for work. It reminds me a lot of the kind of stuff that would play during 1980s sci-fi movies... like Bladerunner.

Last Christmas I got a new copy of Sonar from my parents but I have yet to play around with it much for new original compositions. Very complicated compared to the old sequencers I used 20 years ago. I hope to get around to learning it some day.... sadly there's just not much time available these days for creative outlets. In any case, I have modernized a few more pieces I made a long time ago, updated recently with Sonar.

Here are some samples:

These were all written, as mentioned earlier, for the Lazy Dragon Inn HOMM fan website. If anyone out there has been part of the HoMM community long enough to remember that, then I salute you!

G'day everybody. I have just finished working on my new album. It has a very spacey theme and is heavily inspired by Vangelis and Tangerine Dream. I hope you all like it and any feedback is appreciated.
