Did she die from poisoning? (why do people always die in those puzzles? )

I forgot there was a new riddle.

I'm a little confused. Do the one set of footprints belong to Binabik? Or are you implying there was a set of footprints prior to Binabik making his own?

Was the bridge a swinging bridge?
Was there anything significant ABOVE the bridge?
Were the powder burns related to the cause of death?
Was the hole in the ice larger than about 25-30cm?
Was the hole in the ice smaller than about 10cm?

Quote:
no other injury

No "OTHER" injury. That implies there was a visible injury when none was mentioned. Powder burns are not necessarily an injury.

The bridge was covered with a fresh blanket of snow.  Only one set of footprints led to the body lying in the middle of the bridge.  Binibik knew from the one set of footprints that this was suicide, yet he couldn't find any evidence of the weapon used.  He discovered powder burns on the dead woman's chest and a small chip out of the railing where the snow had been brushed away.  The dead woman's footprints were all around this area.  The only other clue was that 30 feet down, and directly below the chip of paint on the railing, was a hole in the ice.  How did the woman manage to kill herself intantly and still dispose of the weapon?

No poison

The footprints were hers that's how he knew it was suicide

Was the bridge a swinging bridge?
Irrelevant

Was there anything significant ABOVE the bridge?
No

Was the hole in the ice larger than about 25-30cm?
Yeah it was about this, or bigger.

Were the powder burns related to the cause of death?
Yes

well, powder burns imply a gunshot, but I have to verify

Was she killed by a gun?
Was she holding it at the time?
Did she use some method to fire the gun without holding it?

Did she INTENTIONALLY dispose of the gun?

I mean the simplist answer is that it just dropped from her hands after she fired it.

So is that the answer then? She shot herself and the gun dropped over the edge?

No she was in the middle of the bridge, there is no way the gun could have just fallen over.

Was anything tied to the gun or otherwise attached to it?
Was she standing up when she killed herself?
The powder burns were on the chest, is that also where the wound is?

It's amazing that I'm the one who discovered her and I can't seem to remember anything about it.

She tied the gun to a big rock or something. She hung the rock over the edge of the bridge. She walked back to the middle of the brige and shot herself.

*takes a bow*

I was just wondering WHY she would do that. She's so depressed that she wants to kill herself, but goes to great lengths to make sure the gun goes over the edge.

BTW this scenario was used in a Sherlock Holmes story called "Thor Bridge" where the suicidee wanted to frame a nemesis for his murder.

edit: I can't remember the exact plot but it made sense in the story

I thought of the solution very early on, but I couldn't figure out why anyone would want to do that. So I was just making it difficult for myself.

My original version was that she shot herself and the gun fell, but I discarded it after your "no other injury" answer clearly made it impossible.

Am I the only one who thinks that shooting and killing yourself leaves WAAAAAAY more damage to the body than just "powder burns"?

Try this one, it is a hidden HOMMV creature (non-expansion):

It doesn't think. It doesn't feel. It doesn't laugh or cry. All it does from dusk till dawn Is make the soldiers die.

(if you are a MtG player, do not tell the anwser)

Ir is prety simple, but I think there is more creatures that anwser to this.
