Help with Emerald / Saphire Dragons MOD
Ok, considering the great work, that VokialBG did with the Yellow Imps, here's a shot: I would love to have the Sylvan Dragons changed, so that the Green Dragon -> Emerald Dragon, and the upgraded one is called Saphire Dragon. The reason why I want this to be done is because the Green / Emerald scheme as it is now is very illogical: Green and Emerald Dragons actually belong to two different groups of Dragons (Green is a Chromatic (Evil) Dragon, whereas Emerald is a Chrystalline (Neutral) Dragon).
Ok, what I'd like to have done is the following:
Emerald Dragon (Sylvan level 7)
- I'm not sure whether one should actually use the Green Dragon model or (current) Emerald Dragon model - using the first would guarantee two different creatures, whereas the second one would give a more Crystalline feel. I could accept both (but would probably favor the Green Dragon model).
- The colour should be changed, no matter which model is used. The current Emerald Dragon looks nothing like Emerald - those with knowledge about precious stones will know that Emerald looks like this:
I would therefore fancy a colour scheme in a deaper hue of Green, and without the Blue subcolours of the current Emerald Dragon - something like this:
Saphire Dragon (Sylvan level 7 udgraded)
- One should use the current Emerald Dragon model for this one.
- The colour should be changed to deap Blue. To give an example, here's an image of a Saphire:
Therefore, the colour scheme I'd be aiming for would be something like this:
It should actually resemble the H3 Azure Dragon - i.e. blue without Green subtones.
Abilities
Now this is an even longer shot, but I'm very displeased that the Green / Emerald Dragon has "Acid Breath" ability, without this having any effect on the target! Thus, Acid Breath = Fire Breath, whereas in Heroes 3, it was something different.
What I would like to see was the Acid Breath decreasing target deffence. Since we cannot modify creature abilities freely, what I was thinking to do was adding the Plague Zombies "Weakening Strike" ability to the Green and Emerald Dragons. The green animation of this ability would actually be very appropriate for the Acid attack.
If this cannot be done (I'm not quite positive how far we've come with modding abilities), one might give the dragons the ability to cast Vulnerability (mastery: None) every time it attacks a target. That might actually be better, because that'll just reduce the defence (of caused, it can be cleansed).
Names and Descriptions
If all the above is done, names and descriptions should be changed. I am able to do some of it (creature names), but I'm not sure I know how to change Ability descriptions, and I also seem to recall having problems with changing descriptions for Dwellings (in and out of town) that should be updated to give the new creature names (here you will be able to recruite Saphire Dragons etc.).
If someone would want to give this a shot, it'd be amazing. I'm not good at graphics myself, so probably won't be of much help - but this is just a small dream of mine.

Sweet! For a first attempt it's excellent! I would like it to be a bit darker - especially the scales on the back that nor are very bright turqoise blue I would like to have a deaper hue, if that's possible.
Is it possible to change colour details like the tongue and the eyes? Because obviosly, the dragon looks very dead when it's all just blue.
Oh, and btw. - it looks like you've made the Green Dragon into Saphire Dragon, where I would actually prefer Green Dragon -> New Emerald Dragon and Old Emerald Dragon -> Saphire Dragon. I know I'm difficult, and if that's not possible, it's ok.

knightD, No snow griffins. I will shovel them. down.
now, about these mods people keep coming out with: they are too vibrant! creatures in real digital life don't look like something from Yu-gi-oh or Magic School Bus. For the Azure dragon: make it darker, with eyes being a very dark purple. The tongue should also be dark, but bluish grey, like those lizards on that one island.
The yellow imp should be closer to a past ripe bannana than a primary color.
the White griffins actually looked suprisingly good, but rather out of place.

Silly me... I had to formay my drive C:\, becouse my Windows seriously f**ked up. With it, I lost all my documents and a few programs. Hehe, I remembered I still have the game folder (Becouse I keep it in D:\ ) even if I don't have the textures in my documents.

I have no idea... It's hard to make a blue dragon that doesnt look like ice, water, sky and erm... blue things.

Relentless: That looks amazing! Much better than the first go - I'd actually venture as far as saying that you've hit the Saphirce colour almost perfectly! And the Eyes, Toungue and Spikes ARE perfect! My only qualm would be the upper side of the Wings - would you be able to make that darker, something like the lower side?

Well this ain't an Ice dragon, it's a Saphire dragon
I like the last version, very much like Saphire (though a bit more contrast increase like 5% would be better in my opinion, however alcibiades is better here than me)
