Only on this forum threads almost 10 years old still get posted in.
I think that tower heroes almost all have 1 or 2 weak secondary skills. Most start with scholar, the Gargoyle guy starts with mysticism and scouting which are not as horrible. Also sorcery is a weak skill, it should be 30 % bonus to be good.
As far as units go :
1 Master gremlins (upgrade first day to be effective) - a hundred of them first day and you can clean up almost any resource dwelling on the map
2 Gargoyles - extremely weak in doing damage but can be used with their high speed to block enemy shooters or protect your own
3 Golems - very strong, resistant and also slow but can take a lot of punishment thus good to protect your 3 shooters
4 Mage - good shooter
5 Genie - die very fast but can cast supporting spells and are ok at dealing damage, so attack with them when the enemy targeted unit can't retaliate
6 Naga - probably 2cond best tier 6 unit after Death Knights
7 Titan - cheap to get the basic dwelling, the upgrade is very powerful, probably best level 7 creature
Also tower have the most spells but are overall pretty expansive and very resource heavy

If you are allowed to pick heroes from other towns and get lucky with one and have unlimited amounts of gold then Tower can be really good.
If you are stuck with a tower hero on a map that hasn't gold laying around everywhere, stay away as you can never win.
Most of the armies are good but so overpriced it isn't funn. Take Naga for example.
1600 gold...? That is more expansive than some towns unupgraded lvl 7.
And they are very slow for a lvl 6 unit.

I find Naga Queens more usefull than Behemot or a Giant most of the times.
But in general i agree with you - it is expensive and Tower becomes a real force latter, when you upgrade the titans.

I wish I had read this thread before my last game - a couple of people in here refer to the weak "mid-game" of the Tower. My last game demonstrated that to a ridiculous degree - I had an awesome start and cleared my whole area and conquered a second tower day 4 with just Master Gremlins and Gargoyles. I was sure I had an early lead.
But by week 3, I found myself dodging a fight with the opponent's main because he had a much stronger castle-based army, albeit with a weaker main hero.
However, by week 5, I finally felt that I had a critical mass of Titans strong enough to win the endfight. I may have only won that endfight due to the opponents' decision to use his Archangels and Black Dragons to take out my Iron Golems first; by Round 2 my Titans and Archmages had taken out all his level 7s and I'd only lost half of my Iron Golems.
Not being experienced with Tower, I'd never noticed this relatively weaker mid-game period - but now it seems to me that it would be a regular feature. Do people go about planning for this? Do you try to hold off on the endfight for a little longer when playing Tower? Doing so probably was the key to winning this particular game, but I did it improvisationally, and not as a plan.

Naga queens rule, we tested several rounds of Naga Queen vs. Dread Knight, Naga Queen always wins. Tower my favorite town, play with it the most. Only problem is that its so slow, if you can orb of inhibition you win though, cause nothing can take care of all 3 shooters at once.
@Casper:
No offense, if you played faster, you probably could have killed AI week 2 or something, or got enough money for huge army by the time AI came. AI sucks.

Halon (and Mysticism specialty)
Hi all,
I'm currently playing Tower in a major XL multiplayer match that I just started, and I'm just trying to understand how Mysticsm specialty actually works. What does it mean to gain 5% towards Mysticism ability per level when Mysticism just grants 1,2, or 3 spell points back per day at Basic/Adv/Expert?
