I played first H4,and i loved it.Then i heard H3 much better so i tried,but i hate it,very boring and Creatures had the main role,you have more creatures you won,you have less powerful creatures you lost.I tried H5 also,better than H3 but not better than H4.
I came to that conclusion,you find your first heroes game the best.
So i H4 lover,H5 so-so,H3 hater.

Yeah, you know, usually I'm a talkative guy and all, but the day I installed Homm 2 on my hard drive was the day that started my monosyllabic phase. Hurt my general vocabulary as well. For a time it was only, like
"Mmhh."
"Hmm?"
"Yeah..."
"Uhmmm..."
"What?"
"Oh, really?" (That one mainly after statements like "You said you wanted to do the shopping!" or "Come on, dress up, we've been invited to a party today, remember?"
"Soon."
"No time!"

Thread revival! Didn't post at the time though.
I started playing H2 back in 1997, the music was incredible and the game itself was fantastic. I have fond memories of the campaign, I don't understand why they never used branching in the other campaigns in the series...

my first heroes game was WOG and i liked everithing about it and now i play all heroes from 3 to 5 + expansions , etc , i like the creatures,music,graphics

The first of the series I played was Heroes 1. I was still in elementary school at the time and had little experience with any game, but somehow through some twist of fate a copy of the original game found its way to me after having been given away over and over again.(It was an American copy, yet it somehow managed to find its way to the Phils)
I've been in love with the series ever since.

I played HoMM 3 at some friends's houses, never bought it myself though. Then I read about the 5th game and got all nostalgic and stuff, bought it, loved it, came here for some tips, got flamed for thread resurrecting and general noobness, went emo and disappeared for a while, came back, got bored of HoMM 5 but still loved this place.
And now I'm here.

I myself started from heroes 2. i loved the game, the creatures, the music, and everything about it  . Then i bought Heroes 3 Complete and played it 24/7 for 8 years . It was waaaaay better than heroes 2, but still i love heroes 2 . In year 2008 i bought WoG, first i hated it, but after a while, i started to like it. Nowadays i play both heroes 2 and WoG, they're both absolutely awesome. I especially love WoG, because of this great thing called "ERM". And of course, after that, i bought heroes 4, and thought that it would be a great game like HoMM 2 and 3, but i was wrong. Heroes 4 sucks.
I have actually never played HoMM 5, but i would really like to. Many people says, that it's much better than HoMM 4 or 3, but i don't believe it before i see it myself. Now i think that no game will beat Heroes of Might and Magic 3.5 -In the Wake of Gods.

I play homm since 1990 the first games name was King's Bounty later it got the title heroes of might and magic.

Oddly enough I played the Might and Magic 'Role-playing-ish' games before HoMM, but if I recall right I started playing in the winter of 1999, I went over to my eldest brother's house, and after a while we got bored and he decided to show me HoMM 3. Fell in love with Gremlins and imps, and the rest they say is history (I tell ya those short, little guys with the pointy ears get me every time).

when I first bought a computer , was a pentium 1 and the guy who installed win95 also gave me 2 games: homm2 and fifa i think.
Well, i remember very well those games i had with my bro back in '97, hotseat, almost all nights till morning...
Since there, im just a big fan, and nothing could ever replace this game

I don't know when it was, but all started with a demo version of Heroes of Might and Magic 2 on a games magazine. It was very addicting and HoMM 2 still remains one of my favourites.

Then I bought Heroes 2, and it was much better .
Then, Heroes 3, an awesome game .
And last, Heroes 4, which sucks  .
@EDIT, After HoMM 4, I got Heroes 3.5, The Best One.
I have never played Heroes 5...

Maybe I should..
BUT, I have seen lots of videos and pictures of HoMM 5, and I don't think it can NEVER beat WoG.
HoMM 5 is like a different game (like HoMM 4, which SUX). I like more 2D games than 3D..
But maybe i should try it..

H5 really has the feel of H3 to it, so if you didn't like H4, then you might like H5. The thing I think will throw you off (and a lot of my friends for that matter) is the super 3-D map and combat setting (never understood why combat has it, never made a difference to me). So once you get the hang of the map, I think you find it to have much the same style as H3. Try it out and Good Luck.
