When you have sky daughters with rage level 3, and 2 pieces of sar-issus, the multiplier is 8, right? It may seem like a stupid question, but in some games it'd be times 5 or something due to weird mechanics.

Also, trident of the titans won't affect the sky daughter's chain lightning, will it? The wording on the artifact seems to imply it, but common sense says it doesn't

Also, when trying to install the cheat console, it won't let me edit the "start" file, which is required. Is it because I use patch 3.1?

There's nothing weird, normally it's x4 and the set adds another 50%. That would be 6.

Elemental boosters only affect hero spells, after all it's the hero that is equipped, not the units. That said elemental reduction arties DO reduce the units' elemental damage.

Something I've never quite understood.. why is it that defence skill reduces 30% incoming dmg while attack skill only boosts 15% outgoing dmg? Is it a typo?

I mean, that's hardly fair!! Everything else in the game balances out, like light spells negating dark or negative morale/luck having same chances to trigger as their positive counterparts for a similar value..

It is fair!
I read somewhere that someone said it appears that the designers knew what they were doing when the attack skill was in smaller increments than defence...I agree totally & it meshes well with each faction's differences/philosophies - my understanding has also got better after having played some duels.

separate note: one needs retribution for more attack dmg which needs more investment in skill/perks but some factions can't get retribution for very good reasons (I feel)

Can i disable level cap in single player campaigns? because when i am nearly able to unlock heroes's speacial skill, campaigns over

Hello.

I am having problems with my TotE game lately... last year I had an identical problem with the texture washing out every time I enter the castle screen, and PhoenixReborn helped me with it by suggesting I make certain changes with some files in the TotE folder. I did that and it fixed it permanently, until now.

The problem recently came back, and I don't even know why or how. I went back to the folder to check to make sure the changes I made with the files are still intact, but strangely it reverted back to default. I did the changes again but this time, it didn't work. My game still get textures washed out when entering the castle screen.

I have DirectX 11 and my display device is NVIDIA GeForce GT 220.

Does anyone know how I can fix this?

Hi, I searched a bit around but I couldn't find anything related to this problem.
I am having problems in the last sylvan mission (the one during nighttime)
I think this mission is supposed to be dark, but I have a strange glitch that makes the battle screen very bright. Also the adventure screen too (if this is the name) is not dark, but not even remotely so bright.

Has anybody else noticed this (or a similar) problem? Any idea for solving this?
I have the 1.6 patch installed, running on a winxp 32-bit OS, nvidia GTX260 latest drivers

That's weird, it's almost like prelight setting or whatever it's called in the editor. Maybe you have a custom map in the map folder? It could possibly have modded the lighting.

Sadly I haven't put a single custom map or mod, it's a clean installation with patching up to 1.6.

EDIT: I've just found a thread on ubisoft forum dated 2008, it seems that no solution has been found yet..

EDIT 2: Found a solution, it's not great but it works, I reinstalled the game and left it on version 1.00 and everything works fine now. I will patch then after this mission

Last TotE last campaign: A flamobyant exit!

This map is really, really difficult... I'm playing on expert (Role play mod, woho!) which is about equal to hard difficulty. And I can't defeat the castle with Kujin... She just plain sucks... One only gets to play her for a measly two maps and sadly she's not too good currently. It took me forever to get to this point, (I saved just after I defeated the second demon guard hero, but before Kujn and Gotai spawned)) so I wonder:

Will she spawn in her new state if I replay the Kujin missions, or do I have to replay a flamboyant exit as well?? (That map is a looong and hard procedure... every battle goes on for a long time...)


Edit: I actually noticed that just spamming fear my roar on the seducers, keeping them from killing off my units with the earth daughters, does the trick. But still, for pure curiosity.

Hi all!

I want to play Heroes V like the way of Heroes III WOG. I mean I like the heroes III maps (some map likes in template 8XM8 with a great number of artifacts and strong monsters) and I wish I have a chance to play heroes V in the map likes that. I don't like the official temp. followed the game because it's bored.

So, could anyone have the template likes 8XM8 for Heroes V ? Can you send me a temp. like this via this email: leoxdragon@yahoo.com

Howl of Terror and Magic Resistance?

Dear all

I wanted to know if Magic Resistance can be used against Howl of Terror?

(Banshee Howl upgraded ultimate of Necromancers?)

I saw that there are only a few thing that can remove it (lay hand, tent). A necromancer which arrives to reach it is quite hard to defeat I bet :-)

Doesn't seem like howl of terror is affected by mag res...although those immune to mind control are not affected...manual 3.1 section on dispelling curses should give you a good idea that it shouldn't work if cleansing & magic immunity doesn't work [but Elvin's duel map is good for 100% sure testing of these things]
