Poll Question: Heroes 5 on a Console
Well this thread is here to ask you if Heroes 5 would be a succes on a console, which one? you decide that part, it will work like so many other big games were its made onto a console (like C and C 3 for the Xbox360)
you decide, good luck

I think it would work on all 3. In fact, it'd be great if it would come out on a console! They'd have to change the whole gameplay, though...but it can be done. Definately on the PS3 and the 360...I'm not that sure about the Wii, but I know only little about it, so I guess it could work...
In overall, a great idea, although it's never going to happen...

Never say Never.
no one else got any thoughts on H5 on a console, perhaps a different view-point for the battle, instead of being the commander of the attack for and being beside your troops, you fight along side them, like a FPS,with spells and swords, or something like that

Mabey there could be different play modes:
Normal: The board gamey, move around collect treasure etc. mode.
Town Build: You play 1st/3rd person. You run around your town, finding the right things to use in making buildings. There are several non-violent minigames that you can do. Also, you get to explore the town in detail!
Battle: You can go back and forth from Standard mode to being in combat, 1st/3rd person. You'd either lead your stack, or if the comand to move had already been given you would follow the leader. Everything would switch from 1 stack of the unit to the oodles of them in real life. They would get into the epic combat motion with the enemy. You then hack and slash away with your sword.
If you are an archer you would be able to aim your bow/crossbow/blunderbus (depending on what you are playing as). On easy mode it would be a one hit kill, but on higher difficulty you would have to aim for the heart or the head, otherwise you just score damage.
For flyers, you would get to move in 3D, and dive down on enemies, mabey grab them and drop them elsewhere!
For Casters, you would be able to custom build your spells. Acadamy would use different powders and oils, Sylvan different herbs, Dungeon Crystals, etc. Different objects in different combinations would lead to different spells.
The 1st/3rd person view would end once A) You, as a melee or flyer died, or B) When you did your damage/spell.
This would work best on the Wii, for sword swinging, and for spell aranging.

Well, technically, it could act like a point and click interface. It wouldn't be that hard. There's also the online factor, which would be great.
I'd also like to see a compilation of Heroes 1-4 on a console, maybe even 5.

I hope that if they do release it for Console, they won't call it "Heroes of Might and Magic V" but something slightly different. "Warriors of Might and Magic" mabey. If they call it Heroes, it'll just get barrages of people saying it is not right, too much change in gameplay, etc.
Also, the chances of it being released are greater: Dark Messiah is on Xbox 360.

Why does it have to be a console? I think any Heroes and every C&C gme will work VERY good on the Ninteno DS (mainy because f the touch screen...)
And I think that Heroes wouldn't work very well on a console... maybe Wii...

+thanks for the comment Elite_Kill, i never really thought about a handheld H5 game, although, that seems even more anbious than what H5 on a console

strategy games, no matter what type always fail on consoles. why do you think most companies avoid making them into consoles in the first place?
i mean, they could make great money by making the games onto all 3 but they don't. there's perfectly good reasons for it, and past has shown it to us many times. just check all the playstation(the first one) titles, they were all failures.
well Heroes 5 of course has it little better compared to for example RTS games, since you don't have to be able to do 100 things at same time but i still wouldn't go there.
the only way they will ever make strategy games succeed in consoles is if they give a high quality keyboard and mouse with every game
(yeah, nothing wrong with graphics and sounds and such, but ill laugh at anyone who says that the current controllers that the current consoles have would be good to play strategy games with.)

Never on console!
They actually made one game called Heroes of Might and Magic: Quest for the Dragon Bone Staff for PS2 but that was really bad game. Can't really consider it an Heroes game at all.
Heroes 5 in consoles wouldn't be fun play whitout mouse anyway. Heroes games just aren't for consoles.

well, the PS3 and xbox both have a USB port, so you could add a wireless (and not so expensive) USB keyboard, and problem solved

well, as much as i want to add that, people have already voted, and i can not change the poll (although mods might be able to?)

@ anyone thinking it might work: just imagine playing HoMM V with a console controller. You might reply that FPS's work on consoles, but the ones really requiring careful and FAST aiming which can only be done with a mouse don't. HoMM doesn't need quick aiming, I agree, but the strategies also don't tie in well with chaotic-party-like nature of most successful console titles.
