Eh, I don't really see the point in having a heroes game on a console. There is a point in handheld ports due to portability, but for normal consoles, there isn't any real reason. At best, the controls will be similiar (Wii), else it will be worse. The series doesn't need outstanding graphics to succeed, either.
Also, if it's anything more than a remake, I'd rather see that game developed for the PC.

Quote: Never on console!
They actually made one game called Heroes of Might and Magic: Quest for the Dragon Bone Staff for PS2 but that was really bad game. Can't really consider it an Heroes game at all.
Heroes 5 in consoles wouldn't be fun play whitout mouse anyway. Heroes games just aren't for consoles.
Acually this was not HoMM at all . It was just kings bounty with better graphics

Heroes 3 for DS? It would work great, if its done in sprites it would work wonders and if it had a few more towns too! I think the games usually are a atiny bit compressed, and they would easly been able to do it in a file-format that would allow you to use ALOT less space.
I think a complete package with a online multiplayer and map randomizer and a new city or two would have pawned snow.
It would have failed EPICLY on PSP however <.<
And wii can run heroes 5, the grapics is not that great neither the power of the game itself and with a 2% more stabile engine it would have been neat.
However the controllers is not ideal for Wii, Ps3, Xbox360. Soo that is why its not on. However a Migth and Magic game would have fit the consolls, soo long its not a failing FPS with bad balance

development of HoMM on a console is not a "new" concept, you had on GBC HoMM 1 and also have Civ and have had Age of Empires II on PS2 and DS so development of HoMM for NG gaming consoles would consider a verity of development expression especially on Wii, DS would be easy to model to but development size (Story Length, Sound/Video Quality and other features) would judge the potential of HoMM on DS.

I personally think Xbox360 would be better since it would be easier to implement and play based upon Xbox360 uses similar hardware to that of a computer. And it would probably be more popular if it was on the X360.

a friend of mine has got a supercard, and when starting pmd2, it says "loading..." and then something like: "1377/1377 kb" just before the game starts. that means that a big game like pmd2 takes only one tenth of the space of a ds chip.
conclusion: homm3ds will work. easily

Yes, it might work easily. But that doesn't mean that it would be any good. Personally I wouldn't want to see a HOMM game on a portable gaming system such as a DS or something like a PSP. The only good consoles that HOMM would really work on quite well would probably be the Xbox360 or the Playstation 3.

How the heck can it work on PS3 and X-360?! I just need to reimage the Dragonbonestaff game. The controlls are too limited to be effective.
It COULD work for Wii, but the problem are that the Wiimote is not stabile enogh. But it could work, point and click like you can do useing a mouse to a PC.
It would work easly with DS, very good actually. Using the touch screen, with the upper providing all the text. And using the "R" button to comfirm a action. It would work like heck
Add on online and Forge town, and we might got a winner.

How couldn't it work? Besides, if it was on either of those systems it would be more popular and receive more attention. And the controls are NOT too limited, I don't know where you get that from.

I get the limit of the controlls from my playing experience.
For PC there is a expression: "Click and kill", the problem is that the need of a mouse to perform this is like "wuut?!".
Sure, they can do FPS and platform games. But image a RTS with the controlls, not too good eh? The slowdown in the "Click and kill" due the lakc of a mouse would annoy like heckishme. You would get used to it, but it would NEVER approuce the level of a PC in "Click and kill".
I think i know where you get your "not limited controlls" from, i myself have played alot of FPS and other games on both x-box and ps2-3. The controlls are limited, it is just done in a clever way to hide it nicely.
And why more popular? I wonder where you get that idea from.
So you say that if WoW was on the consolls it would sell more? I certainly think not.
The truth is that Heroes got a fanbase that will buy no matter what, then we got the circle that will be convinced by the hardcore fans, then we got people who just will buy it randomly, then we got the people who go after recommedations. The randomers will convince other random people, and that is how a game usually sell.
Some people care for uber grapics, the the grapics in H5 is allready failing along on that, along with the lack of a better storyline and lore.
The gameplay could have been alot better.

I think you misunderstood me. By me saying Xbox360 and PS3 are more popular, I was comparing it to the Wii and the DS since you said that it could work on the Wii.

I wish it would come out on the Xbox360, cause then I could be able to actually play Heroes 5. Right now I am stuck with Elements which I bought for $60 a few days before it went on clearance for $30...

If it is so easy perhaps, just perhaps all the Heroes games could go on one disk, I don't mean mixing them I mean being able to play all the Heroes game on a portable console with just one disk

That could work. My thoughts are heroes II, III, and /maybe/ IV, which might all fit. Maybe take away IV if there's no room for the Heroes III expansions. And I left out I because it's basically the unexpanded Heroes II.
