Quote: Actually inferno with tactics, battle frenzy plus bloody claw can make a really good game out of it. Or most of the time, win it. Tactics on cerebus, and nightmares taking care of dijin sultans will win the game for inferno
If game is 2-3 towns, or even one, 2nd level guild gives cleansing, and learn light/master of blessings, mass cleansing is done when academy does dark magic, they can stand a chance as well...
The key is no gating with inferno, since academy troops can't do much damage as well..
I agree.
btw, inferno can win if academy does not rely in their initiative booster mini arties, all things that boost initiative are the ultimate doom of inferno besides dark magic.
two most important problem of inferno againts academy are: academy mini arties that increase initiative and damn dark magic. If any inferno player can counter those two, the fight will be much easier and gating can be used far more easily.

If Dark is the problem, then choose Marbas. Go almost purely might (Defense, Attack, Luck and take more magic resistance through defense and Luck) From Attack go all the way to Power of Speed, that initiative kills. Does he have Mass Slow to counter? No problem, you will resist half of them anyways. Use MotD with Excrutiating strike, probably on Golems or Titans. Hellfire to use the mana you have, with Mass haste you will spend it fast.
You can take Dark after the Might skills, if you can. Or if you have Fireball in the Guild, taking destructive as a supplementary skill can do. With Master of Fire and Siering Fires to boost Hellfire.
A Wizard going Dark against Marbas is a fool. Unless he gets a hold of the Staff or Sar-Issus...

er actually academy only stands a chance to win if the wizard's spells and spellpower are very good...no matter how much boost academy creatures suck big time!!!

Or maybe a simple rushing warlock with simple lucky empowered spells would do the trick Even counterspell won't help because
infernal troops > academy troops

I think Inferno will usually win against Academy in the earlygame since it's only chance in my oppinion. as soon as the academy player gets to envolve he kills inferno mid-endgame

By the time gating becomes useful I always have banish. Like to see the retarded look on inferno player's face when he has just wasted a turn gating.

It depends on player.
If he'she is able to use their skills properly and hava a good build he will win with any of the factions...
Also, I can't agree that only Academy has its advenced strategies. Inferno is just less played by a lot of dudes...
I'm trying now to develop new strategy by I need my ToTe to arrive to try it out and post it here

That goes without saying. Also on the map. But generally speaking Academy has the upper hand. Early game with MMR, late game with mini arties. Try MMR for both factions, then you can tell the difference.

And what would you say about dark/light inferno?
If u use this magic both then you are unbeatable by Academy I think...
You can hipnotize or frenzy two, the most powerful stacks in Aca's army and then you just beat the rest with your hellfire and gated stacks hasted and enduranced...
Furthermore if you play Grok, u can with simply no mana loosing teleport your overseers near Aca's mages and/or gremlins and then, perform normal attack or explode...
Don't tell me that banish will delete ALL the gates... It can delete one per turn, and that's to less to beat Inferno up, if taking into consideration not gated ones...
Gating can be very abusive if u hace lots of low tier units...

Dark/Light Demon Lords against what kind of Wizards? Wizards actually have better access to Light (10% vs 2%). Dark/Light Wizards own Dark/Light Demon Lords. And beware of Magic Mirror! Your Frenzy might go against your intention. Yes, it can be reflected to other units in Wizards' army, but it still means your spell only has half chance of success, whereas Wizards don't have this kind of problem. Moreover, Wizards will naturally have more mana than Demon Lords, and if they get Sorcery they'll cast faster.
If you want a close match up playing Inferno against Wizards, I doubt magic route is a better way than might.
