Both are musts for a spellcaster. Sorcery is useful for might heroes too.

15% more damage is nothing compared to 100% more mana. The only case where Sorcery might be better is when you have high level Malekith + dungeon. You'll do 30-40% more damage with your spells and you'll have a building to double your mana, so you'll have as much mana as your opponent does even if he has intelligence.

intelligence, always. Also as someone said earlier if you have intelligence you can pick spellpower at the magic towers and do both more damage and have more spellpoints than he who took sorcery.

I have never had a game in which the presence of sorcery could have influenced the final outcome. This is definetely not the case with Inteligence though.
Only the Dungeon-Malekith-Sorcery combo makes some sense , mostly because of the mana vortex. But still I don't believe that Sorcery is better, even in this case...

Intelligence hands down. Only because even with the most powerful spells, sorcery makes very little difference: I got a 4k Implosion once, so sorcery would have added 600 damage, but that was when my Power was 50...took me months and my whole purpose in that game wasn't even to win, it was to build super-super hero. No point in getting sorcery, extra damage is minimal. But with Intelligence, when you use a magic hero who regularly casts Implosion to clear enemies, that extra 300 SP is very welcome
