Archery is quite neccesery while creeping.- your centaurs get more attack and they are your creeping machines ( the best creeping set for orcs is big stack of centaurs circled by 1X6 goblin trappers stacks)- I would even say- the orcs are better than dungeon, cuz dark elves need to use magic while creeping and they are less efficent in my opinion...
About the hero. I used Haggash for some time but I noticed that centaurs is very oftne killed on the very begining of the battle and after each battle you have them less and less in numbers...
So, there should be choosen a hero that can help all creatures in my opinion- and that hero is Garuna...
@Elvin:
If you are so great in playing orcs: please make us- little noobs a favor and tell us your build and hero you use... O.O Pleaseeeee O.O

ohh cmon what's so good about those centaurs, I see we have some weird centaur-goblin mania going around.. They never managed to do decent damage when playing stronghold and what can they do against shooters? casters? Nothing, zero. They get squashed like bugs, their numbers reduced like by half. What's the point, then? Creeping slow walkers? So goblins may lay those oh-so-leet traps and slow them down? Wtf, walkers are never a threat, no matter how strong they are. It all comes down to killing shooters and casters without suffering heavy losses, and that's what I NEVER achieved with centaurs. The only way was to use the warrior specialist (the one who starts with ballista) and get the tent, as usual.
And I always end with important mines guarded by shooters or casters. Just my luck.

Unfortunately- there is simply no shoter/caster creeping with orcs...
Now dungeon is better cuz, in spite of using them as fortress for furies, dark elves can use stalkers to reach shooters and kill them with even no looses...

Sorry, have to disagree. The key to going against shooters and casters are the shamans and goblin shamans (for casters). Also, that is why I like the powerful blow > Stunning blow > excrutiating combo. Though it doesn't add 3 levels it does work on ranged attacks and can help a LOT. You will take casualties normally, but they grow pretty fast. The female shammies are a god send for Stronghold. With the ability to slow they really help out vs shooters and casters. They have decent init also. Through in a Fear my roar and you might even make it out without casualties. Balista helps of course. As does the tent perk.
For awhile you have to avoid shooters and casters, but you should be able to creep all but the nastiest (like AA's) by week 2.
Though I absolutely agree that many towns creep against shooters and casters MUCH better.

On the contrary they can do something, they just need support. This is where warcries, ballista, tent and leadership skill come in. Add the starting rage from memory and the town building and you lose few if any. Their starting initiative usually has them act first and Haggash slightly improves your chances to act first and gain rage. The ballista will hit one of the 2-3 shooters that remain and tent will raise your few casualties that will follow. I won't assume you'll always have tent or warmachine skill but flaming arrows you can gain quickly. If you see my replays you'll see that there is little problem unless you get arcane archers in which case I leave them for week 3.
It never was about the centaurs alone.

Err about that.. I seriously have no idea how to do it, you are bound to lose a few cyclopses even at lvl 20 and using centaurs is suicide. I think only dungeon can tackle them week 2.

Yes but they need some luck with spells. You can't place single gargoyles as you'll have to retreat and mind tricks don't work. I bet you do that with upg gargoyles and hp artie?

The ogres with word of the cheif and cyclops seem to be the way to loose the least, but even then I tend to loose a lot of both. I have a stack of 1 trapper or goblin shaman, a stack of earth daughters. Slow them and hope they don't take out your shammies before you do. Havn't found a way to limit deaths against them. Even more dangerous then most other tier 7's cause they can shoot or activate ranged attacks even if blocked.

As an offtopic comment last time I had placed some single gargoyles along with my big stack so that the phoenix was blocked in the back lines and it appeared in the front. It could attack on 1st round
Cyclopses can only hope in tactics, luck/leadership(elation and aura) and warmachines. 12 of them will always win but the catch is not to lose any - need a lot of luck there. Maybe if you visit that +10% hp shnine...A shame that titans are immune to fear my roar too.
Edit: About stalkers you surround with goblins and hope your traps will work You can see where they are just before they move, don't know if that's a glitch. With any luck you'll fire a shot before they go invisible.

send stacks of 1 goblin in front. The stalkers WILL attack them, thus revealing themselves so you can chop them to pieces with your preferred method. Works for any castle. Just send some bait to make them pop out of the shadows.

Hmm their invisiblity is a huge problem, especially without aoe. Single unit goblin trappers surrounding your centaurs. If they attack you have them. Have the goblins lay down traps too. Not very dangerous, even if a annoying. Assassin/Stalker combo is much worse (assassins poison you, the stalkers go invisible so even if you take out the assassins the poison runs its full course...yuck).

Hehe totally forgot Doomforge's idea I have used it a few times but such things are of the moment. Anyway I never implied I am a stronghold guru or anything, I'm still learning it.

So don't u think that Garuna is better? I'm considering heros in creeping AND in late game... I think she's well balanced:
you can get flamings easy and after killing single stack your attack improves- with more attack lucky strikes will be up to 12-14 times more powerfull than strikes before Blood Drinker affection adn with no luck affection....
What do you think about it O_O?
EDIT:
By the way, isn't it better to get enlightment faster? More expierence means faster levelling up and better chance to get ALL the skills
Ah, and about your guru being- some kinde of guru you are... You got bonus anyway...
