Dungeon vs stronghold
I haven't played the demo yet, but from what I've seen so far about the orcs they are dungeon killers.
I want to hear how do you (the community) think it should be played with a warlock against a barbarian with expert shatter destructive, might over magic...

I think it may be quite a theorycrafter's approach, since I have yet to play ToTe, but I'd go for summoning and might approach with a fast rush, a completely non-ordotox way. From what I've read here, orcs are killers when the battle lasts long or the hero has all those rage buffers, so you need to squeeze'em fast. Summoning is one of lock's skills and would do neat with spells like fire trap+warlock's luck. Dungeon's creatures are fast enough to cripple some of the crucial orc creatures before they power up to insanity. YOu can go for fast might because you don't have to fear dark.

Considering the amount of damage rage absorbs is higher with bigger stacks I could use destructive in a week 3/4 confrontation. But summoning just seems more convenient and you don't have to fear luck of the barbarian. Sorcery, leadership, luck and maybe attack would be among my priorities. Or dark even for a mass slow if I could get it.

if you'd go for dark than I guess Lethos or Yrbeth would be your best choice

Yrwanna already starts with slow and has a fury specialty that could do some damage until the furies are killed. Regardless Lethos's special would be fun to use against the orcs

rushing seems to be the only option here, without big rage bonuses the warlock's creatures can tear the weak orcish line-up even without destructive magic (from the stats assassin+fury can take on lv1-4 orc creatures without a problem)

considering growth first two tier creatures from warlock wins against first three tier creatures in stronghold with just one destr spell I'd say

Well I guess stronghold stands better chances to survive a Dungeon rush as anyone else in this game. Not because of the shatter skills but with Warmachines + centaurs+blood rage that absorbs damage you'd be pretty screwed as Dungeon I'd say. And prehaps you have a nice bunch of trappers who'll stop your furries from reaching you... Naaah Stronghold will do nice against rushes I think. Of course only if you prepare for them...

to make it fair, I think that the shatter destructive magic skill should have the smallest chance of being learned by a barbarian

Hard fight, I'd use Lithos and dark vs barbarians, mass slow , mass decay, vulnerability probably. If they get enough blood rage it's probably over for you. I'd be very concerned with the cyclops though, it is a fearsome beast without much weakness, he can regain hp by eating gobs too...

In that case there's the possibility of a triple flaming ballista with very good attack. And not all maps allow fast confrontations.
But I will agree for now that a barbarian is better to tackle early than later We'll see how it turns out soon.

Cmon, it's obvious that magic heroes should strike early - later barabarian's stats and bloodrage will be too powerful to be stopped. Not to mention that a barbarian needs time to develop his 5% chance skill(s) to stop the magic(s).

Yes. But by that time the warlock can get slippers and warlock's luck. And use hit&run. The barbarians are slow.

Yes, I believe that quickly done hit and run stays as the best dungeon strat even if a warlock would lose some artifacts. What is very nice is the detail that that cloak of sylanna > slipers don't hurt that much because ignited fireball or arma(when about to die) can be used. Also, deep freeze looks very solid.
