Quote: Honestly, why do people think that everyone plays just multi, and not for exemple - some custom game for relaxation?
There's not much about balance when it comes to custom games. They are, as you mention, meant to be relaxing, not competetive, therefore, the balance there is completely redundant.
So I still don't understand why do you find the full dragon bonus imbalanced Nothing personal, just a bit amusing.

Lmao, I never told it is imbalanced.
I told it was wrong... that i don't see a point of it.
And in custom games even if You get the set the fun is over, once you put it and use it to full degree that is. Wear it and every AI hero will run like hell away from You, forcing you to play
"tag, you're it!" on the whole map =P
It's more entertaining to put a warlock with 4 stalkers and none artifacts in the center of the map. Every possible hero of every AI player rushes to him and crashes on him. two weeks and You return "home" with an income of 50.000 from selling low-lvl artifacts left from the attackers.
And as You stated Yourself - chances of having the set collected in multiplayer are close to non. So in single it brakes the fun, in multi it is as sure as unified field theory...

The dragon set provides an automatic gg which is not the point of such a thing.
Keep in mind that in Heroes 3 there also were imbalanced sets like
the Necro Set which was completely ridiculous.
I believe that it should give a good bonus: like 2 extra lvl 7 units at the start of the week, or even 3... but 7 lvl 7s a week it's too much.
Still maybe we are looking at this the wrong way. Given a normal map you might get it but really late game. I mean, in 2 months, I almost got it on a MP map (played against the computer) - I was missing only the Dragon Flame Tongue - which is the rarest of them...
But I consider myself to be lucky at that time.
Normally, you can stumble upon 4 pieces for example, but to get the whole set you would need 3-4 months maybe on a large map. It is safe to assume that by that time, the number of level 7s in heroes' armies are of the order of 30, so a tier 7 creature per day is marginally not that impressive.
Nevertheless it is too much. It should be like 2-3 per week, or another imba bonus, like an overall +30% to init of all units (those arties are all about init.), or like a 50% increase in the init of lvl 7 creatures, or something else. In this fashion, once someone gets it, he just has to stall for a couple of weeks in order to become unstoppable.

Well, if you manage to complete the whole set, you probably deserve such a bonus. It's not like the other players won't get some of the pieces themselves whenever they see one.
In other words, once you get that bonus in a competitive game, you're probably dominating the match already anyway.

They're not unique, however. So you can't say that if you have one (or more) of the pieces, that the other players won't get it as well.

I totally agree. Things next to impossible to get should offer great benefits once completed. They are single player stuff anyway, so they should give some joy to the one who completes them
And the AI running all the time is a stupidity of Nival. Can't blame the set for it

I almost got the set in the necro campaign, only 1 missing
In the orc campaign I got all, but divided between the two main heroes who never meet ... Not funny
I'm in the 4. Zehir mission now and have 6 or 7 of them. Not using all of em though. Maybe I can complete the set now ... 1 lvl 7 tier per day is sweet
I get so pissed when I don't have logistics or those boots and those dim-witted AI-Heroes keep running away all the time and I can't catch them

Not too hard if you're lucky, ofc not in small-med maps, you're lucky if you have two castle that have artifact merchants and a dragon utopia near your teritory, for me, the hardest artifact for dragon set is dragon flame tongue, i don't know why, five times i try to get this set, only two succeed, the other three are failure because of dragon flame tongue, and without dungeon, it seems impossible to get this most powerful of all set.
Though dragon powers is not my number one set, like doomforge said, it give special joy for completing it.

Are these artifact sets you guys are discussing only in one of the expansions? I recall them from previous HOMM games, but have not seen mention of them in the basic HOMM5 game I am playing.

Correct. You will find none artifact sets neither in the classical game nor in the first expansion. Why weren't they implemented before the second expansion - pix me...

the sets are only available in the expansion. Most of the artifacts however are available even in the original game.
In fact, one of the Dungeon missions in HoF has you collect the entire dragon set for storyline reasons, and the Dwarven set in the last Sylvan mission in the original game.

I got 2 reasons why you should be dungeon when you decides to collect all the dragon artifacts.
1. They got the strongest Tier 7 creatures in the game.
2. You have an artifact merchant in your castle.
you should play the Windrose map (i think) when you want to get all om multiplayer maps. it got four artifact merchants outside the castle.

imo all the arifact sets are good, as sets and by themselves.
(artifacts dont have to be balanced like some have said, in fact, they have always been "unbalanced" as far as i remember, and shouldnt be balanced cause theyre artifacts)
complain cause somebody has expert enlight/2 piece set for 45%?
you coulda taken enlight...
lol good old usual

Well how helpful would it be to have the vampires garment if you are necro only -4 morale and such things if all necro alt upgrades are anti morale.

Actually, (10, 15 % from artifacts, 20% from set) 45% is without any enlightenment skill. Throw in expert enlightenment and it's 75%. I've got to test this to see if that's actually the way it works in the game or if they cap it.

75% experience bonus isn't nearly as good as it sounds. Even if you begin with Expert Enlightenment and the Vestment of Enlightenment set, you'll only be two or three levels ahead of a hero without them. Since you won't be able to get Expert Enlightenment or the Vestment of Enlightenment at level 1, you'll probably never be one or two levels ahead of a hero that doesn't have them.

I think it is as good as it sounds. Against Elvin he was able to reach level 18 by the time I reached level 12 due to enlightenment and artifacts...and that was without the set bonus.
But fine, no one thinks it's overpowered, I'll go sit in the corner.
