Stronghold or Sylvan, I love maxing the cyclops rage and having goblins near by, but i also like having war dancers and hunters around also. Its a toss up between the 2

Stronghold, to kick arse and scream in rage! The second choice would be Academy, cause I like their style.

Depends on whether we're talking about pre- or post-Tribes of the East. If before, Haven...just always seemed like my type of town...
Post ToE, I'd have to go with the Dwarves. They're the only other (semi)humanoid town. Plus the runic magic is good.

All the factions' ways of life are unsuitable for me, really
So I'd consider it on doctrine alone, and help out the Sylvans.

And yet I wonder how many of us could actually pick up a sword, not to mention a mace and a shield, or shoot a bow. And for those of you would be heroes(generals), I'm not even gonna ask if there's anyone who's actually ridden a horse (and no, poneys at the zoo when you were a kid don't count). Not tho mention how fit one has to be in order to run around in armor and fight for several hours.
I think it's safe to say that you sedentary-internet lovin'-pc gaming geeks would be dead meat in any medieval fantasy battle.
Oh, I forgot, besides all the physical stuff mentioned above, who could actually see a legion of rakshasas/nightmares/cerberi charge at them and not need spare pair of shorts?

Haven for sure maybe Academy. Humans are the best and the other places would drive me insane.
Inferno would be terrible for my health,
Dungeon is dirty and underground and humans need sunlight
Necropolis would be a nightmare nobody to talk too and stench of death
Ones that would perhaps be liveable but not ideal environments:
Sylvan: Desperately do not want to live in a tree like some owl
Fortress: a little cold and I'm too tall to live there
Stronghold: Again probably liveable environment but not very friendly

Hm, then you should not choose Academy, because you can fall down from the flying isles

Probaly haven or academy, like the poster above me said. Living without humans would drive me insane.
In the end i would probaly go with haven, more religious they are.

i'd choose academy with the grimlen trainer
first his grimlens will be more powerful and will be the best tier 1 creatures
2 they will help you to capture mines at beginning of the game
3 the academy functions have artificer ability to make their creatures more powerful
4 the academy functions have 3 tiers range and they are unbeatable their towns (with castle of cours)

A war between all the factions will be a long war, and hunger is the invisible enemy that all factions must face constantly.
Haven:
They must have the laziest peasants in the whole universe... have you ever seen men doing hard labor with such a big belly? If there's any food left no doubt the peasants will eat them all up.
Necropolis:
Even a dog can't survive just by gnawing on bones alone...
Stronghold:
Looks like the cyclops are going to put more than goblins on their plates. You don't want to be there.
Academy:
They don't have much land for growing crops... and summoned critters disappear when you kill them. I would assume they get their food by trading in peaceful times, and during a war they are going to have troubles.
Inferno:
Too much BBQ gives you pimples and cancer.
Dungeon:
Mushroom-only diet? Reminds me of all the plump helmets I force my dwarfs to consume in Dwarf Fortress. And being around those scantily dressed elven ladies is going to make you hungry that much faster...
Fortress:
It seems like a combination of Inferno and Dungeon, but with lots of dwarven ale.
Sylvan:
Being the friends of nature, and living in a giant (hopefully fruit-bearing) tree will ensure a good supply of healthy food. They may be strict vegetarians though... so stop staring at that unicorn's juicy thigh meat.
I think I'll choose Sylvan... though with Fortress, if the war is not going well you can at least get drunk and forget about it all.
