National HC Meetings
International HC convention might happen one day, but it's still in the far future, and probably won't happen soon.
However, meeting people from your country is much easier. There's no need to cross borders, to book a flight (usually), to get a hotel/motel/guest house, to organize it long time before it, etc. So why shouldn't we?
I acutally got the idea from this thread. Geny and Antipaladin met each other, and other Israelis became interested to meet them as well. We can simply arrange a meeting of the Israeli HC members, someone in the middle of the coutry, where all the Israelis can meet each other.
So let's just do it! Every person can contact the HC members from his coutry. Together, they will decide when and where, and will be able to meet each other...
Use this thread to set your meetings, to talk about them, to invite people to come, etc.

Actually....
We've had this same discussion several times before. Over the years that we've talked about an event of this kind it has become clear that Heroes Community members generally can't meet each other without extraordinary commitment to the endeavor.
I personally am quite afraid of leaving the continental U.S. because the world hates americans. I am morbidly aware of my own off-cuff average american caucasian profile and american appearance. If I was a terrorist I'd be looking to nab a guy like me at the first chance.

I would like to arrange a meeting of the Israeli HC members. What about next week's Wednesday, the 12th of December?
I think that the location should be in the center, on Tel-Aviv. There's a Humusia named Abu-Dabi, that might be good. It's at King George St, not far from Disingof Center, and it would be cool to eat Humus on the first Israeli members meeting.
It's not difficult to find parking on the small streets near King George St, but impossible to find on King George itself.
Let's meet in the late afternoon, when it's not too hot, but early enough to let those who live far time to get back home. 17:00 would be good, in my opinion.
Time: Thursday 13.12.2007, 17:00.
Place: Abu-Dabi, 81 King George St, Tel-Aviv.

Hmmm the only thing that bothers me is the time, might be too early for me if I'll have a long route to deliver but I guess I could tell the boss to give me a shorter one so I'll be done quickly and be there.
I can't believe that you are afraid of it being too hot lol, cause if you'll pay more attention they say that it'll be raining next week

Hm. Could be interesting to see Homer one day. Trouble is he lives quite far away from where I normally go to in Finland. But Good idea though.

It's all good and well in Israel, but most of the other countries are at least 10 times bigger and getting in touch there is much harder than here.
As for this particular meeting, like I told you in PM, Wednesdays are out for me for the next few weeks... unless they cancel the current semester.

the fact that its in tel aviv bothers me,but uh,i can get there,along with Geny,i tihnk i know how,to,but 12'th you say? uhm,Geny ,canyou find out how much a specile cost to there,i can arrange a frinde in half price,one way,dono about two..

actually this is nonesence,i have sevral frindes in israel that came from the usa,and no body has ever told them something negetive exept bombarding them with questins if there is better then here
it would be unexpected for you to particpate in that meeting Consis,but would be very cool,if someone not from israel,i have this frinde who is 10 years ago arived from usa,and resides here,and i speak sole english with her,in public,in coffe shops,so that would be funny! my english speaking is fluent,even if me typing aint.
EDIT: i seggest Haifa instead,merkaz karmel,it has spectiaculer places,"Ahi eilat" in K Haim,it has spectiuler coffe shops,Mozart in muzkin,and meny pubs,coffeshops,and etc.
EDIT2: does anyone of you two owns a car? i might arrange us to get somewere for half for price,but for the road back to not be home at 4 am..
it will be easier for us to arrive there.

now that i think of it,a specile would be better on the way back,and fester i dobt it,can you find out on the prices,couse it be better if we go together,we can meet in the trainstop at K mozkin.
we need to arange that better,also i seggest sunday ,instead of wesnday,couse,or thusesday.

so about a 40,to ways thats 80,2h for train,we should be there around 14:00,and rescheduale via trains,ill need some money for the coffe,and some for ciggerts,a 100 wont be enought for all evning,ill try to scraffle a 150. I don't get it with you Israelis. You live in a country that is all of about 500 square km. How is it that difficult for you all to get together and have Sunday matza with each other?
Is it the checkpoints that are preventing you guys from getting together?

Ofcourse not. The checkpoints are on the roads between the Palestinian Authority and Israel, not between our cities. They are there to prevent terrorists from getting to Israel, not to limint our movement without a reason.
We're just busy people, and it might be hard to find a time. But we'll manage.
