Why does my Map Editor show very blurry textures when I start it up and load a map:
If I reload the map, it will correct details of objects but terrain remains blurry:
First I tought it was because I had textures/models/etc. containing *mod*.pak opened as I started the editor but no, it has this blurrines even without any h5 files opened.

Is it possible to change the values for estates and recruitment skills, I cannot find them in the defaultstats.xdb?
@kainc
My editor always uses the same settings as in-game, maybe they are set to very low.

@ MeVII
First of all I suggest not to rename .pak to .zip since you can open .pak -files via WinRAR (doubleclick the .pak and select which program should open it from the list, in this case WinRAR. If it's not on the list, you can browse and find it from the Program Files -folder by default). So I suggest using WinRAR instead of WinZip since I personally use it for H5 modding.
So let's do this step by step:
1. open mod.pak with winrar. Don't close it until I tell you to do so.
2. navigate to Sounds/_(Music)/MainMenu and open the file (a2-MainMenu.xdb) with Notepad.
3. Change the line
<FileName>..\Music\Town-Themes\Town-X.ogg</FileName>
for music you like to use. Let's say you want to have Sylvan theme. Then change "X" to "Sylvan"
<FileName>..\Music\Town-Themes\Town-Sylvan.ogg</FileName>.
Let's say you'd like to have a battle theme from Academy playing in your menu background, then this line would be
<FileName>..\Music\Battle-Themes\Battle-Academy.ogg</FileName>.
You may check what music files and paths you can use from *your default heroesV folder*/music.
4. Once you have changed the line inside <FileName>...</FileName>, save the file (with notepad of course, since you have it open). Now WinRAR will say that "file a2-MainMenu.xdb (or any else you just edited) has been changed, do you want to update it to the .rar (or something like that)?". Select YES and updating process will start, taking like 0.5-3 seconds.
5. Close WinRAR and start the game.
Hopefully this helps

Try this! It should work [tested]
Since you don't have expansions, you must rename the a2-MainMenu.xdb to MainMenu.xdb! try it
@ Asheera: yeah, he doesn't have expansions but he can put that mod into data folder and make those changes above to get it to work (I have left original H5 into deep mazes of my hard disk and I actually could test this.

Just wait a second here. I see p3c-data.pak which is a patch pak for the original H5. These mods work only with TotE afaik.

Ok you don't have TotE, then the problem is the Sounds\_(Music)\MainMenu\a2-MainMenu.xdb file from the Mod. Add the Sounds\_(Music)\MainMenu\MainMenu.xdb file to your mod and edit it like I explained in the other thread you posted and it should work.
EDIT: kainc was faster it seems

Heh, no problem. Seems that mine and Asheera's brainwaves are running at same frequency today since we both solved this problem pretty much in the same minute.
Here's for your P.S.S:
I could try to make a mod that removes those boxes. Maybe even tonight

I think he meant exactly the opposite, to get rid of the creature number on the battlefield and let the ones from the ATB bar be the only ones indicating the creature numbers.

You can also download an ogg decoder plugin for WinAmp and/or Windows Media Player (like me) and play .ogg files normally

Quote: but could the creature quantities be worked into being shown in the dialog info when you right click on a creature?
I don't think it's impossible and I may find a way to do this, but I can't promise since I'm not too experienced modder Anyways, I'll check it out tommorrow and post it here if it works.
Anyways, don't worry about "repaying", there's no need. "Thanks" will do just fine I had no clue what or where to look as I started this but it was nice to see that I actually could do it. So it was worthy challenge and good experience So thank YOU for giving me this opportunity.
UPDATE
So far I haven't been able to track the file that contains references for right clicking a creature (I don't mean visuals but the mechanics). So ATM I'm not able to add precise stack number at right-clicking creature. Maybe I'll come back to this when I have more time (Oblivion faction mod is priority no.1 atm).

You can't remove fog of war with a mod (only with a map script specific to a map, or a cheat), but the AI stuff is possible.
Check out the GameMechanics\RPGStats\DefaultStats.xdb file
Look for <StartComputerResources> (the four categories are there for the different difficulties), and <AI> for the AI's behavior

Unless you want to modify every map you want to play and add that small script, I suggest using the cheats.

Ok then add the following lines to the map script:
for i=1, 8 do
OpenCircleFog(0, 0, 0, 99999, i)
OpenCircleFog(0, 0, 1, 99999, i)
end
I have to say I never tested this so I'm not sure this 99999 stuff will reveal all map.

It should open it all. What's the current maximum size of a map? 256x256? The command OpenCircleFog has the following syntax:
@OpenCircleFog(X,Y,Z,R,P)
X = X-coordinate
Y = Y-coordinate
Z = Floor ( 0 = surface, 1 = underground)
R = Radius
P = Player
It opens a circle in the fog of war, of a certain radius, at a specific location. The location is given by (X,Y) and the specific floor by Z. If the largest map is 256x256, and you center the opening of the fog at (0,0) of the given floor, then the maximum radius would need to be 362 to uncover the entire map, all the way to the far corner.
Note that it's only opened for the given player.
For single player usage, I've made a small script that adds a @OpenFog() command, which simply reveals the entire map on both floors for player 1.

data.pak is a zip file renamed from .zip to .pak, that's all. You can open it with any editor that can open zip files, and extract the files inside
