Heroes 5 towns rating

Hello everyone,

I have a small question to all Heroes 5 players:

If you would have to give each castle a rating (let's say from 100% scale) how would you evaluate them? (only heroes 5 castles).

Example:
     Haven 80%
     Inferno 70%
     Necropolis 60%
     Dungeon 50%
     Academy 40%
     Sylvan 30%
     HoF: Fortress 20%

Don't kill me for the ratings i've wrote here. They don't reflect anything - pure example, that's all!

Thx and Happy New Year!

Answer can't be universal. It's depend how fast is meet. How many same towns like main. How many dwelings for spels/creatures on map. How strongs are most strong guards on map. Rich or poor map...and other stufs.

For example meet on week 3-4 haven cant use his special ability for train efective. If you have 2-3-4 towns this give smal advantage to most races from his special bildings....and make balance abit different.

For me all races have his strong points and if map is not so short (over 4 week) all races is good. Short/rush maps is never balanced for all races...so it's depend from map.

Hello all

Thak you Nevermind.

Why in this forum? because the question is about Heroes 5. And here are all heroes 5 players.

I'd rather say it is bad maner to ask why since posting 8 percentages it's much less then writing a sentence (not counting the ignore option).

I apologyse if this place is "so private" and cannot hold questions from "strangers".

It will never happened again.

Some people just don't understand by what the percentage is based on.  Effectivness, ease of use, overall power?  Some combination?

Since I will base mine on how good I can use them, mine will differ from a lot.  I think all the towns have positive and negative things, and it comes down to how well you use them.

Haven 65%
Sylvan 85%
Stronghold 95%
Fortress 80%
Inferno 45%
Necropolipse 55%
Academy 10%
Dungeon 30%

Relax, man... Take it lightly  My apology for not making myself clearer, that I thought this would be better in the Temple forum rather than here. TOH forum, in my understanding, is more for competition-related issues of HOMM; Temple is for more a general topic like this one.

I was just wondering. No offense whatsoever intended.

What's that supose to mean? He didn't say what to rate it by so how can one possibly see what he means?
Besides Duncan is absolutely right this belongs to the temple. And there is absolutely no need to get so offended. What's the problem with saying what's right and what's wrong? In case you'll say by what one should rate I'll be happy to give you an answer.

It's the famed toh snootiness showing itself again.  I thought we'd come a long way since the no-holds-barred trash-talking of H3 yesteryear.

Guess not.  Congratulations Cosmin for stirring up the pot again.

This has nothing to do with trash-taking or anything like that. The "pot" you're talking about is just a fake imagination. This topic wan't intended to be a dispute at all. Was a question posted in  place with the most "page-hits" around Heroes Community. The purpose was to create a simple pre-game rating based on few things:
1. The castle
2  The player rating
3. The player experience

The second and the third options are self explnatory.

The first one requires experience with heroes 5 to have some value.

This is not a ranking system; it was ment to be a little guide for new heroes 5 players.

You start a game, choose a castle choose an opponent. The systm will give you a bit of ideea about the odds you may have during this game.

Nothing to be scared of. All statistical data have to start from somewhere.

Iintend to start Heroes 5 in LRH as well, so if i ask a question i go were the good players are.

No need to atack anyone, no need to fight ..... nothing like that.

Maybe just to try to support a few guys that relly cares about heroes world.

Small things make a big diffrence for new players. I've been there and i know that any little information i had was good for me to get going.

THIS IS NOT A COMPETITION, NEVER WAS.

It's good to see WCL supporting Heroes 3 and having all those good players arround.

It is goot to see TOH having so many games reported for their rankings on heroes 5.

This is all what is it about. Growing Heroes world. New ideeas were all the time rejected, it'a a part of our human behavior.

It's a lot simple to find bad things rather then catch an ideea and support it by adding few peronal opinins.

"Elit", "Mytical", "Nevermind"  - i'm sure they were confused as well but they tried to help the best they could do.

I'm sure the other guys here have same good intention just i carry the fault by not beeing more precise.

The bad thing is that there is no "more precise" formulation. Because the ratings you do are just personal oppinions.

But let's remeber what Sourveys are:

A medium percentage of a certain amount of repondents.

It doesn't mean it is true. I's a player based opinion.

Thank you all again, and please try the best you can.

but I'll give it a try:

Academy:    85 %
Dungeon:    80 %
Fortress:   87 %
Haven:      85 %
Inferno:    77 %
Necropolis: 88 %
Sylvan:     90 %
Stronghold: 95 %

the length of the game is the first factor that must be considered when u rate a town. and by that i mean the level the main hero can reach before the final fight and the number of towns of same alignment (even the dwellings counts when there is only one town per side).

rating for a particular situation is possible, else is speculation.

its hard to ignore all the factors that influence the theoretical chances to win and the power of a town which depends on the opponent side aswell. (x has more chances over y on map z, but in map w things are different, etc.), but for the sake of charts i give it a try.

heroes level 25 (solid strategy/desired skills), players skills equal ( dream on), 1 town each, 1 dwelling for each level, 1-3 utopias, full recruitment, no much casualties :

1. stronghold (except the extraordinary situation when opponent has swift mind, frenzy, puppet, and seducers , leaving the orc playing with 2 stacks max)
2. academy and fortress
3. sylvan, haven
4. necropolis, inferno, dungeon

perhaps own tastes count too.

of course there are situation, especially for the designated casters when lack of few key spells can turn game intoa disasters , noo matter the army, or the chance of getting some can turn it into a flawless victory, aswell as a resist can ruin a fight. too much to discuss and this should reffer directly to a particular encounter that happend.

happy gaming
