Best Animated and cool looking Creature
This may sound daft, but does anyone had a favourite looking and best animated creature including special ability.
My favs are:
Wraiths (cool looking as they float across the screen and the regnerate bit as well)
Ice Elemental (I love the way they die. Back Arched then turned to Ice followed by breaking up)
Diamond Golems (like the Ice Elementals they shatter alonf with sound of glass shattering)
Medusa Queens (they way they Slither and then turn the victim to stone)
Anyone have their personal favs.

I like devil animation most - the teleportation, and that sign it makes - come to papa  . No retal is the best special also.

...without a doubt, Sharpshooter... these guys are just great... I only hope the Elves were just as good...

yeah, I really like the way all the golems look as they walk up and punch.
also I like the look of:
- behemoths
- bone dragons
- wyverns
- hydras
- fire / water / air elementals (and ice / energy too)
I'm sure i'm missing a few

thanks for input but i dont want to restrict this to heroes 3 but to heroes 1 and 2 as well. I think animation and design is very importnat in heroes when we play the game.
So any creature from any game will do.
eg
I like the Hydra in heroes 2 because the way it slides across the battlefield. Reminds me of the film Jason and the argonuats and the they way it attacks as well .
However i dont like the way the hydra moves in heroes 3 but do like the way it attacks.
the Vampire in heroes 2 and 3 are totaly different and both are very cool to look at.

Okay, here it comes!
Minotaurs! Nothing beats their fear-imposing way of crossing the battlefield! Not to mention the deadly blows they deal!
Others I like are the (arch)mages from HOMMII. They looked cool.
And you got to love the way you can see the dwarves underwear when they die! LOL
Also funny with the cyclops from HOMMII. They look like they really have to go pee-pee!
Halflings from HOMMII were also a fav.

my favorite always was black drag , they just cool and look really mean and evil, i in general like the evil monsters best, like archdevils, efreet sultans, scorpicores,mino king, the pit lords cool too when they scratch their ass lol, power lich pretty cool too when it shoots

About the pit lords - lol, that IS a nice touch
The funniest monster in HOMM2 had to be the vampires - the looks and the "bleh" they give out on attack is just so funny.
I liked paladins most.
In HOMM3, the imps look so small and childish yet they give out such a growl when taking a hit, lol
The monster that receives a highest + to fashion statement has to be the dread knight.
When you come to think of it, the units in HOMM2 had so much more character compared to HOMM3. Pity, as it doesn;t seem that H4 will improve that. Oh yeah no whining

I like Ancient Behemoths most. Their strike is so smashing.
And they look all around largest creatures in game.
War Unicorns look tough too.

Favorite animations in Heroes3? Gotta love Pixies and Sprites. I especially like the way Sprites attack. Looks like they're tickling their foe to death.
My other absolute favorite in H3 is the poor peasants. You can almost hear 'em moaning: "I don't wanna be here. Oh Gawd, I'm gonna die! I'm gonna die!!!"
In Heroes2, I was fond of the "Why me?" look the dwarves gave just before they fell over, and the elegant phoenix.
My favorite animation overall in the Heroes series though is the Dragon Cliffs in the Rampart. Simply beautiful ...

And I actually picked them because I think the animation looks cool, not because they're scantily-clad women.

I really like heroes 3 phoenix, they are really cool.
I also like Heroes 2 golems with their mechanical look, I like them a lot more then the statue like golems of heroes 3.

Thanks UnkaHaakon. I had forgotten about the animation inside the towns. The Dragon Cliffs are very good, the way the dragons circle about for both the green and gold dragons dwellings.
My Faviourite animation in any town would be the Pheonix dwelling in the Conflux.
I love the way the multi-coloured cyclone thing spins, while impressive forks of lightning lash out over it.
Credits must be given to the designers and artists for giving us such insight to the magical world of Heroes.
Also i want to include in this topic as well anyone who have a favoutire looking town.
Mine would be without doubt the Rampart. To me it is true beauty in itself.
The many shades of the green forest, the cool mist and the way the view is presented by looking up to all the building from the bottom of a slope.
Any one else have a fav and if so why do you like it?

I would say Rampart is the most beautiful town, especially with the fog, and the swirling dragons by the cliffs.

don't get me started with the HOMM 1 creatures ...
you have:
- African-American pikemen
- blue gargoyles
- dwarves with 5-inch noses
- blonde sprites wearing a pink bikini
- 75 yr. old archers
- the pulsating radio waves emitting from the unicorns attack
- the orcs with 4-inch ears that look like a giant Yoda with a crossbow
- the caveman looking ogres
- purple dragons??
- the sound of the druid's and garrison's shots ... sound like the heavy laser blasts from a StarWars star destroyer.

My own choices
I just love Devils. They are so cute with their fingers! And the Pit Lords, scratching their butts. I love Inferno!
The Fairy Dragons are cuties! I love the way they move!

Yeah, Heroes 1 is kinda hideous...
Don't forget about rogues that look like the Hamburgler from McDonalds commercials!

LOL I completely agree! Although I kinda liked the Dragons and Phoenix in Heroes I, even if the dragons were purple. I'd say some of my favorite creature pictures from Heroes II would be Titans, Phoenix, Archmagi, Red Dragons. I like Gold Dragons, Behemoths, and Ghost Dragons (I love the way they fizz in and out when you move the curser over them!) in Heroes III.
