Why do you go after Wynaut instead of Wobbuffet, when they both have Shadow Tag?

Well I said that cause I had forgotten Shadow Tag ability. But my favorite wobbuffet set up is:
Encore
Safeguard
Counter
Mirror Coat
And encore you only get by having it as a Wynaut first.

Thought safeguard might help against the seed. Looked it up, and I guess it wouldn't, even if Maxie obeyed.
