Ok, so sorry about the long absence. A lot of field training missinons and problems with my internet access (not to mention a few other things that interfered).
I'm back for the time being. I'll do some reading tonight to see what I've missed and make a post either tonight or tomorrow.

It's okay, really, we just saved the world, most of our pokemons are around level 100 and the pokemon league is fully functional again. I'm trying to become an elite 4, as one of the last from the group and some character named Jak was sacrificed in a ritual to calm down a hungry pokemon.

I think it is best if something or someone causes her to awake and attend at the meeting. You see it isn't really in Sarah interest to awake and leave the comfort of her sleeping bag. (especially not after just 2 - 3 hours, or how long has it past is it?)
(I just hope there won't be any consequences for destroying that lock pad )

@ Jab: Hope that works for you.
Also: updated the CS thread with the Map Christian was copying since for some reason I hadn't already done that  and Zelgius and Christian's inventories have been updated with it. It's "Incomplete map version A", so if Christian gets the opportunity to update it his will become version "B" and so on; hopefully that'll help keep things straight.

My logic is thus:
1.) The Pokedex 'scans' Pokemon, which is generally far more useful than taking pictures. Remember that this is a world with creatures that shape-shift, throw up illusions and so on—what good is a picture going to do you if you run into a Ditto pretending to be a rock?
2.) The Pokedex is an encyclopedia/research tool, and you're giving these things out to ten-year-olds most of the time. What's a ten year old going to do with a camera, photograph rare Pokemon or take pictures of their friends making funny faces at them? Sure, the former can happen, but most trainers operate under the assumption of 'I haven't seen it before--I should catch it!' anyway, and if they can’t catch it scanning gives you more info than a photograph would nine times out of ten.
3.) It’s not supported by the canon sources that there’s any kind of photography capability is built into the Pokedexes. Whenever they scan something, it brings up a pic with a blank background, not a shot of wherever the Pokemon being scanned happens to be, and Pokemon that haven’t been encountered and aren’t in the database bring up no picture at all.
Explanation enough for you both?

My question is now this, what if the trainer needs to "Scan" something that isn't a pokemon with his/ her pokedex?
Also, what the h(eck) kind of wold developed a scanner before a camera?!

Then you use something else to get your information, ask someone or figure out whatever it is yourself. You don’t use a cookbook to fix your car, you wouldn’t use your Pokedex to do same.

Huh??? What on earth makes you think they haven’t developed cameras? You don’t have one. Likewise, you don’t have a car, airplane, or Legendary Pokemon. That doesn’t mean they don’t exist.

Given some of the outright stated IC decisions that have been made so far, I’m going to dispute the claim that this is an obvious thing to do.

You do have a mobile phone. But if it has a built in camera, you have to explain to me why you didn’t use it back in Rieva, or Moontear, or any other time you’ve tried to take pictures with your Pokedex instead.
