@Ohforfsake, Thanks. Ohh and it is not cifers. What KI said was that Pico Duarte is 4999 feet(which is 1523.6952meter) tall. We usually have a , sign for every 3 cifer in a number here in the "civilized" world.
By the way, I live in Northern Parts of Norway(on top a mountain) and IT DOES REALLY NOT GET THAT COLD UP HERE!
EDIT: By the way: OF COURSE IT HAS GOTTEN BETTER! I posted in this RP like 3 years ago! *stamps with feet*

Heh, I know, I was just trying to make a joke about the different uses of "," and "." in different countries.
Btw. KI, when you do the "crunching numbers", which I understand takes quite an effort on your part, do you do it all by hand and manually type the outcome, or do you use a program where you only have to type something like trainer name, pokemon choosen and moves choosen and then it spits out a format that is equivalent to what we see?

If there’s something that could interfere with the attack (miss chance, confusion etc) I usually resolve that first. Then I plug the numbers into marriland’s damage calculator, roll for exact damage and special effects (critical hits, the Burn for Ember and so on) then manually type it out. I’ve also got an Excel spreadsheet for keeping track of who goes in what order and what Pokemon are involved.

This one: http://pokemon.marriland.com/damage.php?
So it's a several step process, (4-5 steps?) which you have to do for each single competitor in the battle?
Are there any interest in a program that could ease up the burden?
Like if you only have to update it with stats of the relevant pokemons(I imagine a layout somewhat equivalent to the character stats sheet thread, that can be copied directly into the program), and inform it of whenever pokemons are healed with non-pokemon moves, and then all you'd need to type in are the pokemons participating in the combat and what moves they choose for each round, then it'd spit out the battle scene as we see it in your posts and you can just copy/paste?
Please note, I'm not saying I can deliver such a program, I'm really not in any way an experienced programmer, but I'd not mind trying to look into it, if it is has interest, as I really enjoy programming, and every part of such a program seem like something that could be done, so I would also think it could all be combined.

That is correct. And while I apreciate the thought I doubt a program would be much help; the problem is, I homebrew new 'mon and new moves on a fairly regular basis, so having all the relevant data built in before hand is impossible. If it's made to accept numbers I put in, then it isn't significantly different to what I'm doing now. Add in the complexity of special abilities (Filter lowering damage, Lightningrod negating it entirely, Water Absorb adding health and it becomes less 'coding a useful program' and more 're-write the entire Pokemon game'.

Though, that marriland thing does round wrong, as I've discovered.
I've actually already programmed a pokemon damage calculator, and one for catching. Each has a random number generator for its stuff. I sent Mytical an exe of each.
I'll get to the RP tomorrow. Feeling a little tired now.

Sorry, if this is off-topic.
It's continued from the Roleplaying tips thread
As this is my first RP, it's hard to know exactly what's acceptable and what is expected. I think the same goes for gnomes, but I don't know.
Often I'm not certain the reason of why it goes very fast and other times seems to drag on, but I enjoy it nevertheless, and I think if one didn't, one wouldn't take part of it.
Anyway with that said, I think both points are very valid, but often it can be quite hard to be certain of what you know (though I think that gnomes maybe took it a bit too the extreme at some points).
On the other hand, I think gnomes are correct that one wants the illusion of control and that it's ones own actions that creates the story. Having read some of the earlier parts of this rpg, I'd say, I'd probably not have enjoyed playing it back in 2008-early 2009.
I don't know WF and he certainly did a much better job than I ever could, but much of the RP throughout this period seems very forced and the actions of the RP'ers seems to have little influence on the actual plot (though there are the occasional deciding moments).
PS: What just happened to Draloed?? He time travelled!? Is he still at the center?

For the most part, yes..things will be the same as they are in our world in any fantasy world. Because that is what we understand, and most GM/DM's don't mind (myself included). However, just understand that it is not always the case. One can be fairly certain that if they jump toward a rope that has a pit under it that they will fall if they miss the rope. In a fantasy setting, however, this might not be the case. Hehe I'd love to get certain people in my Maze of Wonder. Where falling UP is more dangerous then falling down .

Yes he is still at the center. He is just using his nifty medallion artifact to hatch onto Mrs. Good-White-Bird and see what she sees for the moment. I think this is like the 2nd or 5th time he does that in the RP.

The ambush idea is a good one, but she'd make a little change. One of the pokemon that can use surf, and one that can use earthquake (if we have one) would stay behind. Just those two and a single starlight squad member they would listen to. They would remain hidden. The earthquake one should be in their pokeball at first.
The pokemon that can use surf should be well hidden..and when the enemy comes in, pop out, use surf..which will not only damage the trainers, but any pokemon they have out..especially any rock types. It should be recalled, and the earthquake one brought out..to take out the center and block the passage on the side that the enemy comes in. Then it recalled, and the starlight squad member beat a hasty retreat. IF it is possible block the next path.
Meanwhile we all retreat to wherever. Damaged pokemon, no center to heal them, and blocked paths to slow them down. By the time they recover, we would be kicking back drinking brewskies.

Sorry I haven't been posting too much lately, I've had intensive training in H5 duels.
And I also couldn't figure out a good entry for my character.
In in the future can someone please remind my not to always write my stuff during the night. I'm less creative during the nights.

@Ohforf: So noted. Good luck on your exams.
FINALLY! I’ve been literally been waiting for months for you to find that MM.
Mining:
The mining minigame can be played whenever you’re in a place suitable for digging (EX: mountains, caves). How it works is a bit of a cross between the Pokewalker Itemfinder game and digging in the Underground: I give you a row of fifteen numbers ranging from 1 to 3. That’s the depth of your stone. You have 10 ‘hits’ before the spot you work on collapses, destroying any unexcavated treasure.
As in D/P/Pt, you have two tools, the mallet and the pick. You choose which tool you’re using and which slots you’re hitting with it. Both the mallet and the pick subtract a certain amount from the ‘stone’ and the number of ‘hits’ you have left, which breakdown as follows:
Mallet: -2 ‘hits’ per use, Pattern (-1/2, -1, -1, -1/2)
Pick: -1 ‘hit’ per use, Pattern (-1/2, -1, -1/2)
Your goal is to get the stone numbers down to 0 before you run out of ‘hits’ and ideally find treasure, so choose your target slots wisely. Item sizes range from 1 to 3 slots wide.
Please note that you can’t choose to distribute the hit over a pattern other than the one specified. (EX: Hitting slots 1-4 with the mallet on one swing is fine; hitting slots 1, 5, 7, and 10 on one swing is not.) Also note, you’re free to switch between the two tools between hits.
EDIT:
General consensus seems to be to do the rockslide, so we’re going to go do that.
Votes for what to do with the rest of the SLS are as follows:
Mina: Run.
Misty: Ambush.
Zelgius: Ambush.
Zack: Trap the place and run.
Christian: Ambush.
Sarah: Run.
Draloed: ???
Brona: ???
Stacey: Run.
Am I misrepresenting anyone or does anyone have any last-minute additions to make?

Christian is for "Ambush/Buy time while the main squad runs" option.
EDIT: Said more clearly: A small team(the main group + one or two starlight members?) stays behind and ambush the Brandra with a trap, then run for it!
