I discovered some real twisted stuff about magic....
...that chaos and order magic are pointless. Hero has grand master magic resistance and no sorcerer can kick a lighting bolt up his ass...

You are right, Icon. They wouldn't make something that gives SO big advantage... Anyway, there surely are spells that can be cast on a creature and thus it becomes resistant to magic...
But really, Magic Resistance will be very useful against Chaos Magic.

Wyvern: I would appreciate having spells that lower magic resistance, maybe there will be smth. like that.

Wouldn't that be kind of selfcontradictory? I mean, a spell that would take away a heroes ability to withstand spells?

Yes in fact it would.
It was just a wish that I know will not come true.

well, then there's always a % chance that your "lower resistance" spell would be resisted.
And I wouldn't say chaos magic would become useless if a hero had grandmaster resistance.
That just means you gotta burn the rest of their army and then use your creatures to kill the hero.

well, that too...
perhaps, if you have grandmaster order magic, you could cast, anti-resist... when, against grandmadter resistance, it halves the frequency of resisting...
just my thoughts...

But if he had grandmaster resistance, doesn't that mean if the resistant is not as good as your spellcasting hero, but he has grandmaster resistance, he could just go into battle by himself, attack you and kill you for sure even though you are of higher level than him simply because he has extremely high magic resistance?

levels would prolly come into play...
for example, if a level 10 grandmaster resistance fights a level 20 grandmaster spellcaster, the spellcaster should have a higher percentage of success... and vice versa...
if a level 10 grandmaster resistance fights a level 5 grandmaster spellcaster, the success should be halved...

Resistance vs. Magic Expertise
You know, I think that's not a bad idea. The spellcaster's skill in the power skill of that school should determine the likelihood of resisting the spell. A Magic Arrow from someone who barely understands Chaos Magic should be easier to resist than a Curse from someone who has Grandmaster Occultism. Maybe something like this:
For this power level, the resistance percentages for each level of resistance:
Basic -> 40, 60, 80, 100, 100
Advanced -> 20, 40, 60, 80, 100
Expert -> 10, 20, 40, 60, 80
Master -> 0, 10, 20, 40, 60
Grandmaster -> 0, 0, 10, 20, 40
This would be more realistic, but I think it might make spellcasters too powerful - or it might make them weaker because as it currently is they won't waste their time and spell points going after enemy heroes who likely have a high Resistance, whereas this system would make it more likely for them to do so and run the risk of failure.

i agree entirely, however, i think the percentages are somewhat biased towards the spellcaster... gmaster vs. gmaster should be 50-50...
