Heroes 5 Faction Lessons

Want to be a pro? Do you desire the absolute specialization with your faction so you can reach its full potential? To have absolute control over your actions while carving your path to ultimate success? Don't despair for you are in the right place

So far you have been taught that learning a faction is a mix of your creeping skill, town building strategy, skill picking, blah blah. I am sorry for that, I was not sure if you were prepared for the next step of evolution but I cannot hold back the burden of knowledge.
Because the most important element in specialization is becoming one with the faction, understanding its code of honor(assuming there is one), adopting its morality - to simplify matters you must delve into its theme and understand its hero and units' viewpoint and capabilities.

This may seem a bit confusing but don't worry, it can only get worse! Of course an integral part of teaching is giving examples so that your impatient students can wrap their heads around your grand ideas
So I will proceed to explain what was blocking your way from reaching Dungeon's ultimate status.

DUNGEON

“Hide, listen, watch, learn…  And when the time is right, strike from the shadow.”

*This is the foundation of a warlock's teachings: Become the stalker! Follow people from behind, learn their secrets, then beat the crap out of them before they figure out you are there. A warlock is never fair, be sneaky.

*The second tenet is the willingness to dedicate yourself to a path of destruction. People and things are there for your amusement so don't hesitate to blow them up! Only when you have reached the point where you feel guilty for not blowing up something can you catch a glimpse of the warlock's greatness! If you are a pyromaniac it helps, thoughts of scorching your surroundings can give you focus.

*You may have seen a pattern so far. The result of following the above will imbue you with an impulsive urge to attack everything on sight. Hold nothing back and charge ahead! No wait. Not you, your minions Two reasons: No job is hard or risky enough as long as you have someone else to do it. Also it's amusing. Besides knights teach the usefulness of self sacrifice right?
Your minions are there to do your bidding and you must use them accordingly, what matters is the ends not the means.

*By that point you must be practically worshiping the destructive forces. Or are you? No hesitation, can you blast the opponent's forces with one arcane incantation? Do it. Even if your whole army has to go down too. As aforementioned they are tools, besides what kind of self-respecting warlock are you if you don't have suicidal or self-destructive tendencies..? Armageddon their sorry hides

----------------------------------------------------------------------

As long as you follow a warlock's morality everything will eventually come in place. Experience is but a shadow of your potential, you must be true and focused at what you do.
Think destructive thoughts and litter your path with ashes till the next time

Good idea, although dungeon is rather well-described on our forums. There is pretty little about playing pro haven, necropolis, inferno or dwarves. I'd like to see those things first

Oh yes.. and the newbie guide. The basics. Perhaps we should try to write such stuff..

anyways a virtual qp for you, friend

Yay virtual qps! I did not take the time to think it through, I just got the idea, brainstormed a bit and made the thread. I'll probably continue with the others but I could reserve academy for another

Oh and Doomforge. People know how to fight, not why

Academy

According to the Wizards of the Silver Cities, All secrets will be understood, and mastered, in time. You need to search and to learn, to be diligent enough to have the power to continue, so when the time is right, you will discover the secrets you have been looking for.

The Wizards seek for Knowledge. They spend their lives researching, learning, in order to find it. According to the Wizards, there is always a thing that hasn't been discovered yet, and the person should never stop searching for it. The searching is eternal.

They believe that their knowledge is a greater power than hordes of armoured Cavaliers. Knowledge gives you the ability to do things others don't know, to evolve, to develop, to be more surpriseful and threatening than any great army, to be magical.

The deepest secrets of magics have been revealed by the Wizards. How to summon, to create, to animate, to do things that empires aren't able to do. Buildings that it would take months to build in the Griffin Empire take less than a blink for the Arch Mages of the Silver Cities. The Army of Wizards is made of summoned creatures, creatures that have been created by the Wizards themselves.

The desire for knowledge led the Wizards to learn, to study. The learning led them to find great secrets of magics. The magics led them to a great power. Maybe the knowledge is power?

When you play with the Wizards, look for knowledge. Knowledge about your enemy, knowledge of the creatures, their abilities, the hero and his abilities, knowledge of new spells, and even knowledge as a primary skill of your hero.
After you gather the knowledge you need, you should find the secrets of magics. Gather spells your enemy doesn't know.
Now all you have to do is to learn how to use the magic in a surpriseful and threatening way.
If you managed to do that, you have the skills to be a good Wizard.

Knowledge is not power unless high druids are involved I should also note that All secrets will be understood, and mastered, in time hints at puppet master and their insatiable urge to manipulate situations

You could say that mini artifacts are a kind of indirect way of knowledge converted to power as they boost your creatures' combat prowess.

Necropolis

You must learn to think like a necromancer. A necromancer disdain all that means weakness and everithing that is passing. He worships the imortality, everithyng that is eternal. And very important, he knows to show the others the right way. To raise them to the true existence: the unlife.

You must understand that glory, joy, anger, fury, happyness, frustration are NOTHING. They are shadows that prevent you from understanding the truth and from achieving your goal. You must free yourself from feelings!

A necromancer fears nothing! Not the failure, not the opinion of others, not even the death itself.

A necromancer is not evil, he is just misunderstood, he discovered the right way, the way to imortality.

If you can do all these things and spend all your time in order to achive your goal, experimenting without fear of failure, without thinking of others and even at you, making everithyng to accomplish your task, beliveing in what you are doing, live for that, then you are a Necromancer.

Erg, Darkshadow, no offense, but that was a bad representation. Let me do something.

The Necropolis inverts life and death. Death is the true life, and life is hideous. However, that doen't mean you can't join them. Their willing to accept new recruits from the living by apprenticing with others. But, just make sure yours isn't...rebellious.

Being a Necromancer takes a lot of work. But, once you get going, its not bad. Too bad the stupid Dark Energy Vial is kinda small... Oh well. 'Tis your fault you ran out of it in the first place.

Having hordes of mindless minions, controlling tines of life and death, changing the course of the world. Seems to be able to go to your head. Just don't do anything stupid, like think your better than others, cause you'll probably end up...indisposed. Don't worry, your skull will still be around.

Now, as a controller of spirits, you have access to amazing things. Some not so amazing things are Warlocks. And ghost may cause high irritation to enemies. Good thing they are harmless, right?

And don't worry about mana, it comes to you through others suffering. Just don't get too carried away. When in doubt, use that good ole book of corruption.
