TO be a FOOL or NOT to be a FOOL?!?!?!
That is the Question!!!!
This post is a warning to all players... Newbies and Veterans.... Player made rules have never been enforced in TOH.. any agreements that are made before game, you do so at your own risk, and PLEASE DO SO ONLY IF YOU TRUST the Player 150%.. and even when you think you can.. take it from me.. you still can get screwed! I have played in TOH for 10 years now, and today is the first time I have ever been screwed over in this fashion.
The only reason I am even making a post about this, is I wanted to try and prevent others from suffering the same fate. Cause it SUCKS big time. I think the worst part is knowing that I trusted this person and based my entire game play style around his pre game " Word " and then he decides he needs to go agasint his word cause he must do what ever he needs to to win. Now he has reported and claimed his win... and it is recorded in records..... a win he didnt deserve or earn. But because of my FOOLISHNESS, I allowed myself to be tricked. Guess for that reason ALONE I might deserve the loss???
Anyways, please be Careful with whom you decide to play and even more careful if you try and make any player rules. Its just another loss... a amongst many that I have.. and wont be the last, so its not about losing.. Its the priciple on HOW and WHY I lost that is so sad..

guys, enjoy the game. Even ever-honorable fiur is getting frustrated with some players, I think there are some players who will break rules no matter what, so play with no rules.

Really sucks.. I'd be sure to avoid that person in the future, people who go against their word to win are no fun.

What rule was broken ? Maybe you and your opponent not understood each other ? If your opponent is honorable, i hope he will come here and explain himself ....

I always fool people and play more likely mind tricks games than heroes itself. i wont comment jinxer's post who's refferin to me, what i have to say i said it to him. I myslef am upset upon losing most of the time cause im going deep into the game, but in the end, since he didnt cheat and was a respectful person, i can only blame myself for loss, so i chill few time after.
i just wanted to warn the other players to avoid me or they will risk to face the trickiest fooling in-game chat ever.
for jinxer , a reminder: i played random, i played the map blind, ure being expert on it, i didnt use stalkers abuse, i dismiss garrison just for u to pass untouched and march to my town.
u chose to upgrade your hero again and again when u were 2 days away from victory. what can i do while waiting, cause obviously i has in big disadvantage? i tried to see what comes outta that my 1% chance and got 2 extra spells on u, thing u could have avoid if followed my advice and went straight to me. the game was intense and i really enjoyed , i thanked u for it and proposed to not even report if u feel that way, but instead u threw me heavy bad words, i has just thanked u, this is what i consider fair. since u didnt feel sorry for all the accusation and badmouthing u adressed to me, i reported ofc. youre not on my blacklist for this and still waiting to have a dialogue.
once again, im that dishonorable guy, be aware!

Mind tricks are not dishonorable, everyone has his own strategies and being predictable can lead to defeat. What I would not want is to agree on a rule that my opponent will ignore.

My personal opinion - there has been a severe misunderstanding. Both, Jinxer and Teacher, are seasoned and respected veterans. As little as I know Teacher, he seems one of the most honourable guys around and I have hard time believing he'd do smth foul intentionaly.
Judging from the quote below, they were engaged in some ambiguous conversation that were mistaken for the rules. Also, smth weird happened there  Besides, I don't see "no hit'n'run" in clan war rules that both agreed upon..

Seems that Teacher's "trickiest fooling in-game chat ever" played bad role... I sympathy with Jinxer concerning his frustration. Yet I hope this "misunderstanding" will be smoothed out as we cannot afford further splitting of already small community - The TOH MOD discussions are more than enough...

the trickiest mid-games
good old Teacher...
I first started Teacher the Emperor in Heroes IV. I remember a few games where he would say things like: oh my, I am weak.....I dont know if I will make it to your castle, I lost much.....only to know near the end of game that his army was 3 times mine. Thats a good strategy I find, it works versus gullable players like me.
I agree with Ves about no rules versus players you dont know. I mean, Cycleguy, Mordaunt5, and myself made this new rule about reloads. If you want a reload it will be 3,000 GP multiplied by the week #; and we live by that rule. I was in week 4 once, and died on guards, I could have crashed the game, but instead I paid the 12,000. So rules only work with people you trust !

When i played jinxer in battlezone and drew dungeon in random during hof days, i just told him, if u don't want me to hit and run you, then let's ban dungeon  . Reason, he made it hopeless for necros in dungeon in such a long game.
Only 1 game experience with teacher, he happens to say he's not doing well in game as well though it appears he really isn't doing well , and final battle was a siege at fortress's town.
If you feel a tactic is not right and knows opponent can't counter it, then its better not to do it. Btw.. its only in tote that there is no counter on hit and run except shackles , all thanks to the swift mind and last stand perk

I'd say quite the opposite; thanks to swift mind hit and running is easy counterable
Lets be honest now, how many times did you see dungeon with last stand?

Not really, u will actually "know" whether the play has swift mind during first battle. If he has, then don't hit and run

OKay, here is the complete story... Didnt want to mention teachers name in initial post... but since he volunteered it...
There was no official Clan war rule imposed that we are talking about. At the Start of the game he decided to go random... he got Dungeon as town. My first comment to him when I seen this was something like--- " Crap, this means you will be using the Stalker Tactic and Hit and running me etc etc " And Teachers reply was in an OFFENDED TONE! He was obviously upset that I would accuse him of the type of player that would use such tactics ... pre judging him so to speak... He reassures me that he doesnt use such cheesy tactics and that he sucked so not to worry. I have always respected Teacher, and he is a veteran as I am... so I took him at his words that I wouldnt have to worry about such things.
So I based my entire GAME with this knowledge. Incase people are not familiar with the map DragonHill... it has a Shpinx that offers either 20k Gold or SHACKLES as a free gift!!! EVERY game! Now I am a 10 year veteran of playing Heroes 3 and Heroes 4 and Heroes 5, and been involved in COUNTLESS debates and posts and arguements about hit and run and dungeon has ALWAYS been known for this...... Now DOES ANYONE HONESTLY THINK THAT I WOULD NOT TAKE SHACKLES VS DUNGEON IF I DIDNT KNOW HE SAID HE WOULDNT????? I always take shackles vs. dungeon, its a no brainer!! The ONLY reason I opted to not take them, is because Teacher claimed he didnt do cheesy tactics like stalker tactic and hit and run etc etc!!!
We engage in main Battle both of us with our FULL army! We fight until teacher has only his invisible stalkers and 4 shadow mistresses left, and he surrenders! The screen says Victory is yours. I am ready to type thru good game... when he sends message that says... Dungeon really Sucks! I stood no chance. yadda yadda... (thats not word for word.. but something like that) --
Then he says come finish me off?!?! I say.. ohh your not done? He says ... naa after taking a beating like that and waiting this long in game, you can atleast grant me a ""2nd Battle"" hmm... okay a 2nd battle for the fun of it sure why not... so I head that way... I tell him that I will need to go the LONG way around cause with what army I have left I couldnt take the Garrison in my path without heavy losses... he said.. to save time.. he would let me pass thru it without fighting... after I get thru it I have a choice to take the 1 way portal... faster way to him or down the hill... I then remember that he has -4 morale artifacts.. and realize that if I enter into battle without morale uppers and try and fight with huge negative morale and all my guys sit there NOT moving with bad morale that he could easily crush me no matter how small his army.. So I go down the hill and plan on hitting the morale uppers on the way.
KEEP in mind that I still KNOW that I dont have to worry about Hit and run.. that is furthest thing from my mind... so taking the shortest path to him is not a factor in my thinking.. ANd he even stated after other battle that he only wanted one more battle. So gullable me marches forward......
UNTIL!@!@!@!@ Hit hits me with 3 Stacks of 1 Stalker 3 stacks of 1 Shadow Mistress and 1 stack some Furies.. ANd he has Staff and I am guessing Swift Mind .. since in both battles his hero is virtually first in bar and EVERY one of his units go before ANY of mine... His Sinitar Casts Empowered Meteor Shower and he surrenders! Ok that was 2nd battle... guess we are gonna have a 3rd now?????? I am confused... I start questioning him about why he is hitting and running me after he said he didnt play that way???? He starts rambling about how he had a recent game vs Infinitus and based on what happened in that game he came to the understanding that dungeon can only win if they hit and run so he decided he had to start using Dungeon to its full abilities.. i.e. he was chaging his mind on his previous stance that he didnt do that kinda stuff!!!!!!!
Now is a good time for that!!! After I opted to not take shackles based SOLELY on his comments at start of game. So bottom line, I lost that game not because I was beaten, but because I based my game on teachers word. And then he claims if I dont want him to report he wont... But that is only way to report the clan war.. and he obviously wasnt feeling about about breaking his word.. so I reported just to be done with it... then I notice that Ves went ahead and updated the clan war with the win even before Teacher reported his side of win... so I figured at the very least teacher wouldnt report the TOH points side since the clan war was credited... but he then took the win.. he obviously was pretty proud of his deception.
AND I cannot stress enough the KEY to this whole dilema is that Shackles were there for free on map... and I know that teacher is smart enough to know that if he didnt lead me to believe that he wouldnt use such tactics as hit and run and stalker tactics etc etc....that I would have taken the shackles!!! I mean common.. I am no wet behind the ears newbie...
**** And who CARES if I lost points or lost the clan war..that stuff doesnt concern me... I play for the enjoyment of game and the HOMMUNITY. But what I DID LOSE that concerns me is:::
-Many Hours of my valuable time
-My respect for a previously trusted and respected player.
-Small portion of my faith in ability to find a truely honorable/fun game, without anyone outside of my usualy buddies playing circle.

If 50% of what Jinxer is saying here is correct then I support his reaction fully, and I`d felt same way. Mind games and lying has got nothing to do with eachothers whatsoever.
But - I guess last word aint spoken on this, I`d never believe you`d do such a thing Teacher?
