Nono, you misunderstood the question. By 'turn' I meant one 'action'. Sorry for the confusion.

For example, the shortest turn I'm talking about is one attack of a creature while the enemy does not retaliate. It's only one strike. A longer turn would be when the target also retaliates. It will be two strikes in the 'turn'. What is the longest though?

I hope it's clear now what I asked

@Dagoth: What? A retaliation doesn't trigger a retaliation, so it won't work

@Buji: Good start, but there are some more things.

If Runes are accepted: Thunder Thane with Rune of Berserk and Rune of Battle Rage and surrounded by enemies. Thunder Thanes can be surrounded by 12 stacks,  => 12 attacks, + hit 12 hits too All stacks (if they are adjescent to eachother, which I assume is the case) Max Potential of 144 hits if I'm not mistaken.

If not, I would say Foul Hydra with Acid blood hitting all surrounding enemies (12 max) + retaliation (retaliates on all enemies) => 12 + 12 = 14, which isn't bad either.
____________
Coincidence? I think not!!!!

@Lexxan: As I said runes are not available since they're considered spells so they're out (spells are not allowed) Also hitting multiple stacks (like the Hydra) is still considered only one action, it doesn't lengthen the 'duration' of the turn, and I asked what's the longest possible.

@Buji: I've seen your edit, yes that's also on the right path. Two more things though

No, it's an ability. It is allowed, but that's not the answer, something else similar provides much more actions.

I guess it's almost solved now, should be easy.

retaliation strike with the griffin
i mean the knights ability

to make it clear: 3 executioner hits plus 3 powerful blows
4 griffin retaliations plus 4 retaliation strikes = 14 hits, right?

Well it's very close so I'll give out the answer.

1) Retaliation Strike doesn't work like that. It works only once after all the attacks have been made.

2) Same for Powerful Blow. Works only once, not for all executioner's actions.

3) Mark of the Damned is the only one that works for all attacks.

Therefore, the longest turn is an executioner with level 3 rage attacking a Griffin which defended. The griffin is controlled by a Knight which has Preparation and used Retaliation Strike on the griffin, and the executioner is controlled by a Demon Lord which used Mark of the Damned on the Griffin.

4 griffin attacks + 4 demon lords strikes + 3 executioner attacks + 1 knight strike = 12 hits

How about adding four Grim Riders for the lizard bite?
I'd also add Barbarian's blow at one side and Knight's retaliation on the other.

EDIT: Meh, too late

lol sorry you're right

I guess it's only 3 (griffin) + 2 (executioner) + 3 (demon lord) + 1 (knight) = 9 strikes then?

EDIT: or (with Barbarian and Powerful Blow) 4 (griffin) + 3 (executioner) + 1 (barbarian) + 1 (knight) = still 9.

I'm becoming dumber. most things I have anwsered in this thread would be impossible for me today to anwser. or maybe I'm just to tired to think now. anyway expect me to be more active in temple now because of this.

Hmm, didn't think of Counterspell. I was more thinking of MotW + Puppet Master + Seal of Darkness + Week of Ether which is basically the same as what you said (144 mana)

But how does Counterspell work in such a situation (MotW)? Does it block both spells with 288 mana usage?
