And the quest begins with Fraudatio and Firedragon matching magnitude of their "Fs" hehe
Hopefully, already tonight we see first game reports. All participants of the Caesars, don't forget to make detailed reports of games in this thread:
Caesar game reports
Maybe Fraudatio can speak also for Firedragon in his report to deal with opponent's language barrier.

Here's the rule with Mighty Strider :
1st game
Map = Twilight zone
Both players will enter 3 way conversation with Zilonite 60 mins before game start ro receive the map, and take map for reference, game kicks off after 60 mins of studying in map editor
Rules : No DV , no mirror, hard
Banned heroes - Deleb, Telsek, Victorio, Havez, Urgat, Kaspar, Wyngaal (banned heroes can be used for 2nd fights, but not allowed to engage with opponent's 2nd or main hero)
3 generated pairings, strike out 2 pairs for each game
For 1st game
Vinrael versus Kilghan
Haggash versus Vladimir - Striked out
Rutger versus Nebiros - Striked out
SQ79 is Vinrael , Strider is Kilghan
Hope its not a slaughter for me
Option to buy another hero generated in tavern, but have to start with vinrael and kilghan and main.
2nd game
Map = Let's Fight
Rules : No DV , no mirror, hard
Banned heroes - Deleb, Telskin, Victorio, Havez, Urgat
3 generated pairings, strike out 2 pairs for each game
For 1st game
Ellaine versus Vladimir striked out
Nymus versus Gilarean
Alastor versus Ylthin striked out
Not decided which to strike out yet
SQ79 is Nymus, Strider is Gilarean
Option to buy another hero generated in tavern, but have to start with Nymus and Gilarean as main
3rd game map if i managed to survive first 2 , will be posted as well ..

Good luck Sq, first game must be yours , since you are playing beloved Sylvan ... I just hope it's not a small map , that Twilight Zone, so you can benefit from Sylvan's full potential

P.s. All the rules are equal for all games as stated in 1st game settings despite some minor discrepancies in 2nd game description.

There's always a chance, just grab it . Play your best and you might win ...
Of course, Strider seems to be no. 1 candidate for winning this tournament since he only lost 5 games, but I wouldn't be surprised if one of the lower ranked emperors like Firedragon, Kispagat or Fraudatio would win it, cause ranking doesn't really matter.
That being said ... good luck to you Strider also, if Sq doesn't kill you, I hope you win the tourney !

I dont know what are you talking abt. Vinrael has easy access to ultimate, and with that orcs are just cannon fodders, who die instantly in first strike. Naturally a lot depends on the new map, but I guess first match must be yours.
Second is a problem, cuz on lets fight the guards are very difficult at the beginning, but if you are patient (which is not true) and lucky not to have too much shooter opponent, you have a chance. You get the best inferno hero vs a weak sylvan.
So please dont tell me, that you dont have a chance because of the matchups.
As I see it, this matchup gives you more than 50%, cuz in general ppl overestimate orcs, but lack of magic could be decisive.

Finally, someone sensible. As always in play-offs one's ranking position is almost meaningless (especially here where there is no bonus connected to ranking's spot). All emperors and several lords along with inactive strategists possess basically the same level of expertise. I've always said that at the beginning of game chances are 50/50. Then they are shifted to either side depending on what random element brings to us. Next, our actual performance steps on the stage...
Bottomline, Sq, keep your chin up and serve me your best dish Besides, according to Kis your chances are good If I happen to lose my minimum goal is to win at least one game. Obviously, I target the Cup as well. Anyway, the tournament has started very energetic and, hopefully, with a bunch of surprises and drama
P.s. Thx, Tower I hope your wishes might produce some lucky strike in critical final's moment

I would really love the idea to play it blindly, but HG was an obvious choice with Elit.
If I stay alive, and have some non-HG opponent in next turn I will offer to my opponent your map.
I hope that you will stay alive and have a chance to play it next round
Also my sincere tnx to Fiur, Insa and Elvin for play-testing it and helping with tests regarding simultaneous turns (and to Fiur for his comments about map).

Ves,
I wonder if that matchups for Ceasar round 1 is a grid,
which means that Fire will play with the winner of match between Strider and Val, and I will play with the winner of Jorko vs Jinxer
or
you will make random matchup for next round also?
If its random, and you would do the matchup for round 2 and I would face Firedragon there, we could start our games with Fire, cuz its almost sure that we would play hg, which is a long story, and we dont want to uphold the others.
With Elit it took around 2 week of daily playing (at least 3 hours a day) to finish, I dont know I could do that again.

Yes it seems Jorko has disappeared... its been ALMOST 2 weeks since I have even seen him on MSN. No word from him at all... not even to say why he hasnt been online. I hope all is well with him and his family... Aretman -- I would suggest e-mailing Vesuvius and telling him you are ready and available to take over..
Its gonna suck to waste a game that we made it to week 4, but it seems we arent able to finish it anyways since Jorko has disappeared
