Quote: This way gives you a much faster way of switching views. As you know, the more options you have, the longer it will take. How ever I agree. I say; either have a "free" 3d view or a locked view. No "half-way-there" options.
exactly. Hybrid models never work.
At least when it comes to game mechanics

The balance isn't too good. Dual wielding is so much better than Two-handed, it's not even funny. 1.02 nerfed crushing prison which was overpowered, but still, some mage spells are just too good. Getting a tank + 3 mages, then spamming storm of century is still the best way of beating this game.

the wardens...
started playing the game a few days ago, creating three chars (gf took the other three) and playing them in parallel, as if they were all part of the same group
my chars:
Human Noble Warrior (later to go Templar/Reaver) - started out pretty paladin like and getting dirtier as it goes. he wants to save the world and avenge his family, jumped at the chance of becoming a Grey Warden
City Elf Warrior (later to go... rerolled as Mage i think) - hates humans but already got his pint of blood, so he's mellowed out some, pretty easy going with most people, at least at first glance. joining the Wardens was the easy way out, but he plans to go back to the Alienage for some ass-kicking
Dwarf Noble Warrior (later to go Berserker/Champion) - i LOVE this guy, charming, noble, all around good, he's to save the world and do all that's warm and fuzzy, while grumpy about his exile, he was not surprised by the betrayal. joining the Wardens was an option he didn't consider, but it works so far
her chars:
Human Mage (later to go Spirit Healer/Blood Mage) - self confident and not liking those Templars one bit, most likely to rip a dragon's head off by herself when PMS-ing she's a bit "meh" about being a Warden, beats being locked up
Dalish Elf Rogue (later to go Bard/Ranger) - traditional, kind, friendly, lots of fun... unless you're human or a subdued city elf. becoming a Warden was not a choice, but she's ok
Dwarf Commoner Rogue (later to go Assassin/Duelist) - a wide-eyed optimist despite everything, she has issues with authority and rigid hierarchies. becoming a Warden was even better than becoming a Paragon
as for the rerolled Mage? i'll probably go Arcane Warrior/Shapeshifter

So far I'm finding this game extremely unengaging.
The graphics are bad, which isn't the clincher, but considering they are much worse than similar games Mass Effect and Oblivion which was like four years earlier, it's just lazy.
The character models themselves are good but the rest of the world seems flat and unfinished so I find it hard to get into the game.
In fact, the whole game seems unpolished, like they were rushed towards the end. It has a lot of grand ideas that weren't executed right.
And it does of course have the obligatory fantasy RPG quest "Go out into this nondescript field and kill 10 random monsters" and "Collect 10 of this random item and I'll give you something in return"
Oh, and there's a money cheat.
